this is lovely Binger. i enjoyed this very much & think my day will be better because of reading your post, thank you!

bless her sweet little heart!!!!! i know you probably get advice all the time on what works but this is a natural....after the vomitting has subsided, try a lemonade w/ alot of lemon for tartness & w/ lots of sugar over ice & have her sip it. it works similarly to over the counter stuff w/out the medication costs. my aunt is a retired nurse & gave it to me when i was younger. i continue to give it to my kids. it really does work! i hope she feels better today!

do you mean this homemade lemonade? i will try that

Speical Post of the Day:

There is a fable where a community survives due to a flame, lit continuously at the center of town. Members would regularly come to it. It provided light and warmth and each member of the town took turns guarding it, ensuring that the flame remained forever lit. The residents believed, that as long as the flame was lit, there would be good will, community, and joy.

In a world, surely gone mad, where high wind and rising water seeks to destroy lives. Where divisions among its people , racially, culturally, economically, and politically, threatens to destroy any sense of civility. A world where vile and repugnant thoughts are allowed to dominate our airwaves. Yet, there still exists a community that is drawn to a flame.

The flame of Christmas exists here forever in our community. In our darkest hours, we seek solace and peace from each other. We celebrate year- long a season of light and warmth, joy, and good will.

We are the keepers of the flame.

And so it has come to this, four days till the season.

Great Post Binger!!!!!

on a not so funny note......Kandice is home from school today......yesterday around 5 o clock she told me she felt a bit nauseus.....at around 6.....she threw up everything she ate and pretty much drank that day.....she then layed down to sleep.....only to wake up 40 minutes throwing up on the couch.....she never had this...so I was a bit helpless on what to do...I gave her some tea and still water to sip on to keep the water household in her body up.....and put her to bed.....she fell asleep again....only to throw up again after sleepping 10min......I then dressed her again and we drove to the Emergency Room....so she can get some help......she was diagnosed with a stomach flu (of course I knew that)....and she got some medication ( rectal suppositories) against the nauseus feeling.......after getting home she threw up again....even tho there was hardly anything to come out.....so I gave her the medication.....and she slept until 7 o clock.....and then from 7:45- 9:10...now she is still kinda weak and not a 100 percent....the vomitting has stopped.....I am glad i went to the emergency room and got the medication so she was able to find some rest at night.....

I hope she feels better soon!!!!

Good Morning MMC!!!! We got off to a chilly start here in central Indiana but we are warming up qucikly. It looks like we should hit 60 this afternoon. I never made it to the grocery store yesterday so I'm headed there today. Then I have to go pick up my niece. I get to babysit all weekend again. So that she should be interesting since she is saying her throat hurts more today than it did yesterday. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wonderful post, Binger!!

Excellent special post, Binger. I couldn't agree more about the comparison. We are fortunate to have that Christmas flame forever burning in our hearts. And, of course, fortunate to be able to share it with our fellow MMC family.

Good morning everyone!

It's Friday. Thank goodness! Well for most of you, at least! I have been off since Tuesday.I have some (decent) news on the job front. To continue my theme of being overly critical of our Canadian government, I am returning to work at my previous job with Health Canada. That's right. The one I just finished on Tuesday. However, I must return through an agency because I have worked the maximum amount of days through the government (90) that I am allowed for this year. Strange, isn't it? I had to pull a few strings through the agency to have them submit my resume for this position. As soon as my managers received my resume, they gladly told the agency that they wanted me to return. The worst part: Because I am working through an agency, I am only entitled to make minimum wage. That's half my former salary. All of this because the government refuses to permit those not currently in the government with indeterminate or term contracts any form of contract that isn't through an agency or a casual contract with 90 working days... This, of course, is without a massive competition that takes more than three months to complete. It's quite pathetic. Thank you, Canadian government.

It's a chilly morning in Ottawa. Currently we are at 2c. The high temperature of the day should be about 8c. A lot warmer than we have been reaching for the past few days. With that said, there could be some wet flurries tomorrow afternoon. A little Christmassy. A perfect way to welcome in the double digits of November if you ask me. We are so close to welcoming in the Christmas Season, but these Special Posts have been oh so good! I don't know if I want them to end either!

Well, I have a busy day ahead of me. I have to walk to the mall and see if I can find my good friend a "joke" birthday gift for his party next Saturday. He's turning 29. Hopefully I spot something good. Of course, I will have my blackberry on hand, too. I need to photograph as much Christmas as I can. The Blossoms thread has been getting lonely!

Have a great Friday, everyone! The weekend has almost arrived! Just think about it. By this time next week, we will be right into the Christmas Season!

I have just spent hours reading loads of posts on this thread, it is so wonderful to find the soul of Christmas so deep in everyones hearts.
Thankyou for cheering up my day xx

Good Friday morning, my Christmas friends!

It's been another busy day at work, thank goodness! These days we're lucky to have a good job, so I'm not complaining.

I'm supposed to meet my mom for lunch at the local sandwich shop in a couple hours. I'm looking forward to, not only seeing mom, but a great meal. And I can't even eat most of their sandwiches anymore. But the owner's wife makes the BEST crab stew during the winter months. She just started again last week, and it was so good that my stomach is growling right now just thinking about it! Mmmm, mmm!

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

To the keeper of the flame: Thank you, Binger for a beautiful post, as always.

Don't forget to take care of yourself, too. Sometimes we parents forget to do that. Here's hoping Kandice gets better quickly.

So sweet with Hermione. "Kids" are like that!

Good evening, Christmas family

I just finished watching A Dog Named Christmas on the Hallmark Channel. Of course, I cried. It ends happily but I cried anyway !

The official countdown to Christmas on Hallmark starts tomorrow night !!! HOORAY !!!!! I LOVE this time of year.

Solice - Praying for your mother.

Star - Praying for your BIL and your dear mother.

Made - Still remembering your dear little niece and hope she is doing well.

I had to stop taking the medication which kept me pain free. I developed a very nasty rash but at least I was pain free for a few weeks. I see a rheumatologist in December so maybe she can give me something else. Most of the over the counter products give me asthma as well as some prescription ones but we'll see........

Special (((HUGS))) for you CAH and Snowflake xoxo - Hope you are okay.

Morning is coming fast so I will say goodnight. Something I thought was cute (as only a pet parent will) - Tonight my husband was going to take Hermione out to potty when she came back over to where I was and gave me a look as if she were saying "No....I want mommy to take me......" Of course, my heart melted and out I went with my youngest little baby who is now 70 pounds xoxo

(((HUGS))) to all but ESPECIALLY TO:

Ella, Harlowe, Snowball, Gomez, Ophelia, Sidney, Alex, Merlin, Snickers, Victor, Daisy, Diva, Mickey, Palmer, Mouse, Bo, Chico, Meca, Alvin, Charlie, Gary, Bailey, Jerrold, Irving, Martha, Uncle Julio, Missy, Scooby, Sasha, Jacob, Cracker, Bunny B, Penny, Pocket, LuLu, Bear-Bear, Stripey, Holly, Fate Puppy (London,) Buster, Missy, Baby, Santa's Polar Bears, Sangria, and all furkids everywhere xoxoo

Dang it all anyway! The thing is, you will be doing the same good job that you always do yet not get paid what you truly deserve. How sad! Is there a future with this job? Here's hoping that something even better comes up!

Happy Friday everyone,

Today is our son's 17th birthday. We head to Pigeon Forge, TN tomorrow for our annual birthday weekend. Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg turn on their Christmas lights this weekend. It is the start of the Christmas season for our family. I'm grateful our son still wants to go with us, (it helps that his girlfriend is off at college). Weather should be nice; sunny with highs in mid 60s and lows in upper 30s.

Tonight we travel to Murphy, NC for another night of high school football playoffs. We are playing the 3rd ranked small 1A school in the state so our season probably ends but has been a good year.

We will put up our Christmas tree on Monday.

Hope everyone gets their power back on and has a great Veterans' Day weekend.
