Hello ... Spent the morning unpacking my new tree and shaping the branches. Don't know if I'll start putting lights on today or not ... I'm kinda daunted by the thought of stringing lights, I haven't done it in so long.

Also downloading a 99-cent MP3 album of nearly 300 Christmas songs on Amazon---mostly choral and classical in various languages, including the Nutcracker and The Messiah. Thanks for the tip in the Radio/Audio forum, RJD!

Thomas just left for work. May be his last day up in the air.

Thomas work in SAS (Scandinavian Airlines) and we will know today at midnight
if they are going bankrupt or whatever happens next.
So he might not have work tomorrow!!!
I think we need all the prayers that we can get...

I really did't think it should come to this.
Well, 8 hours till midnight.... fingers crossed.

Praying for you ... it's a frightening thing to suddenly have your daily work in jeopardy. Please keep us posted.

Good morning, dear Christmas family


It is very cold here this morning. I have the Hallmark channel on and it is the movie about Thomas Kinkade. I never realized how much he struggled as a young man. He was a wonderful artist. I think he had some major problems all his life but yet he shared his gift with us.

In quite a bit of pain right now but no matter, it will go away eventually. I have to work later on but that is okay too. Thank the good Lord I have a job I can do from home and that I have a job.

I found this graphic on a site and I think the language is German !! Part of my ancestry is German. In fact, my great-grandfather came over from Germany !!! I just loved this picture !! xo

I put up my first tree today, haven't put any lights or ornaments on it but it is standing. I had plans to do my outdoor lights, but work has kicked my butt this week and I don't have the energy to climb up and down the ladder. So just focusing on the rest of the indoor stuff now.

I posted the following this morning....by accident in ReineV´s christmas tree thread....I meant to post it here....lol.....so here is my post about Kandice this morning

poor Kandice....she was just painting another ceramic angel....and it fell on the floor and broke in three piece....lil girl was crying terribly........I checked it now....and I think with the right glue....we can put it back together

A quick look at the QVC schedule reveals that they have switched to full on gift mode. No decor shows this coming week and only 6 scheduled between now and the week before Christmas.

Good afternoon, MMC!

I hope everyone is having a relaxing Sunday! I have been busy cleaning and organizing in the basement ~ we need to put in a new furnace. The repairman was here for three hours yesterday ~ did all sorts of things to the old one, and it still isn't running right. It will be nice to warm the house up in the morning ~ the little heater we use isn't bad, but when it gets damp out and windy, it does not do much to heat this old place. And when you have a cold, like I seem to have (bah!), it does not feel very warm at all! I can't believe how much stuff is down in the basement ~ stuff from my parents that I haven't gone through yet. I don't spend a lot of time down there as it is has a dirt floor, what is called a Michigan basement, and loads of cobwebs and shadows ~ very spooky! Still lots to do, but I had to call it a day as it was getting too cold down there. Tomorrow, we find out when the furnace can be installed and how much it is going to cost ~ fingers crossed it isn't too much! I'm glad it is going to be fairly warm this week ~ temps are supposed to be in the mid to upper 50s :???:

I'm going to go browse the web for some Christmas music deals.

To upload more than one photo at a time just hold down the "CTRL" button on the keyboard while you are selecting the photos. There is no way to resize multiple photos at a time though.

watching the Toronto Santa Parade! It is great as always.

back from cake competition, did not win anything again.
Scored 10/10 for interpretation of theme
9/10 for difficulty.
7/10 for originality and quality on one cake and
8/10 on the other.
Scores were very close this year and judges had a hard time.
It was a fun time and great to see the variety of cakes presented.
Hoping next year they do a spring competition as this time of the year is so busy for a lot of people.

It really is a bummer! My computer is new and normally runs REALLY fast, but yesterday, it turned itself off and slowed to a crawl when I rebooted. Probably a trojan or virus. I hate when that happens.

Hope your computer is up and running soon! It drives me nuts when mine acts up!
