Hi everyone!

I don't know why exactly but for some reason this year I'm mega-down about the fact that it's not Thanksgiving anymore. I had a really good time on break from work and now it's back to the daily grind. I need to pick up my spirits a bit.

I am in the same boat. I always close the office Wed-Friday for Thanksgiving. We rarely are able to get that much time off for Christmas. Over the past few years, I spent most of the weekend after Thanksgivng decorating for Christmas. This year I waited until Sunday and chose to do stuff with the family on the other days. I had a really relaxing holiday and it made the trip back to the office tough this morning. And, unfortunately, I have a lot of decorating left to do. :-(

What bargains!!!

Good Monday afternoon, my Christmas friends!

We had a great trip to the Smoky Mountains again! We we're up in mgramsey's neck of the woods, and it was COLD. Friday afternoon, it warmed up some, so I turned off the heat...and forgot to turn it back on. I woke up at 5am Saturday, and you could see your breath! I didn't forget the heat again.

We also found the bargain of the century at Best Buy in Wayneville, NC. They were selling some of their display TVs for 80% off. I bought a 19" LCD for $20 and a 39" 1080p LED for $70! Mom bought a 32" 1080p LED for $50. We drove away from there joking that were in the getaway car, since we "stole" the TVs...LOL!

Of course, it was a tight ride home for the 5 of us (plus Lulu, our cockapoo) in that car with all our luggage AND the TVs. Whew!

I had a great time, but it's always good to get home, too. I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

Just got done decorating the kids' trees. We have the lights in our tree, will decorate it tomorrow evening.

Hopefully DH can do the lights Weds!

I had to go clothes shopping today before radiation. When I tried on some pants, I saw that I had dropped three sizes since I started treatments. Thanks goodness, there was a sale today!!!

that is a heck of a way to loose! But all that new clothes will feel so good, enjoy it!
Continue to pray for you!

It's been since February, so it's not really too bad. I just haven't been hungry lately, but I ate almost every bite of my lunch today: fish and chips! Thanks for your thoughts!

Oh, CM3, I know what you are going through! I, too, am missing a lot of family this year, esp. my parents. I find I am quite sad at times and it is hard to hold back the tears. For me, the empty spot where Bo used to lay does not help ~ his blankets are still there as I haven't been able to make myself take care of them yet. When I feel "on the brink of tears" I think of something else or put on happy music ~ it really does help!

I hope Clancy is doing better ~ could she have an ingrown nail? Trapper, one of my dear departed fur kids, had an ingrown dew claw (I think it was called). I noticed it because he was licking at his paw almost constantly.

Take care, my friend, and have a MERRY day!!!

{{{HUGS}}} for you and Clancy, Wish, Hermione, Lily and Smokey!

Awww...Thanks, Meceka. I think of you and Bo and your babies all the time. I know how you miss him. I think it's a wonderful idea to put on happy music. Clancy's toe is going down slowly. The doctor was not too concerned about it but I just don't want her to have an infection. Like I said, I am watching and if it is not totally back to normal by the time the antibiotics are gone, she is going back to the doctor...xo

Well, I hope everyone continues to enjoy their Christmas Season. The rest of the world seems to be overcome with Christmas Spirit, too. It is gaining momentum and should be at full steam by the end of the week!

I love your sentiment, Brent !!! There is NOTHING the world needs more right now than Christmas spirit !!!! xo

It was one of the Big Events of my annual TV viewing when I was little---the others were "The Wizard of Oz" and "Cinderella" (the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical version). You youngsters don't know what it was like to wait to see "Rudolph" only once a year!

I'm here at the office with my lighted desktop tree to my left and my toy barn full of Rudolph characters to my right, and my little Merry Christmas pin on my sweater. I'm the only one who decorates around here, but someone always tells me how much they enjoy seeing my tree this time of year.

Cinderella with Leslie Ann Warren as Cinderella ?? I LOVED that version !!!!!!! I also have watched the Wizard of Oz every single year too !!! xo

Good Morning MMC!!!!!! It's a chilly morning out there but I'm nice and warm here inside my apartment. It looks like we will top out around 40 today and then a wintry mix will move in overnight tonight. I think my cough is a little better this morning but it's definitely still there. I was kind of hoping that it would magically disappear overnight since I took the last of my zpak before I went to bed. I have a lot of cleaning to do today. There are bags everywhere from my shopping trips and the dishes haven't been done in a couple of days. My Christmas tree is also sitting here undecorated so I want to get that done today. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope you get rid of that cough soon, Made !! xo

Woke up to a chilly, foggy day this morning. We get a lot of fog which we call tule fog (pronounced toolie) in the winter. It is really hazardous at night. One time I had to drive to Sacramento and the only way I could keep on the road was to use the reflectors in the middle of the road to guide me. Scary stuff. It is bad during the day, but horrible at night. What is bad is when I have to go to Chico Christmas shopping and driving home on dark country roads. I plan to do some online shopping today. I think I might even buy myself something! TTYL

Get yourself something EXTRA special !!!! xoxo

Happy Monday everyone.

Its a little cool here this morning. Temp was 22 when I left for work. Should warm up to the mid 50s for the high.

We had a very good Thanksgiving with the family. We made the 3 hour drive down on Wednesday night and stayed until Saturday evening. My mother is still able to fix country ham biscuits. That is a great smell to wake up to. She also still makes a great banana pudding. As is our custom, all of us ate Thanksgiving dinner at my aunts. The house was full with my wife, son, parents, uncles, aunts, and cousins.

We took advantage of being in a city that has a mall and shopping centers. We were able to finish most of our Christmas shopping on Friday and Saturday.

For the trip home, mom packed us country ham biscuits and sausage balls. Certainly not diet food.

Have a blessed day everyone.

Your Thanksgiving sounds so special. So glad your mom is still able to do things that make her happy xoxo
