Four words: Depends Guard for Men
Good afternoon Christmas family
Well, it isn't good news about my Wish. His kidney values (BUN, creatinine, phosphorus) are SEVERELY ELEVATED which means he is in kidney failure or on the verge. He is going to be in the hospital through Christmas to see if they can bring those values down with aggressive fluid hydration and meds.
If these measures work, he will have to be on maintenance getting fluids subcutaneously under the skin weekly. That may give him 3 to 6 months longer to live if it works.
If his quality of life is GOOD then it is worth it. I have been very lethargic ever since I talked to the vet....I feel like the "stuffings" have been knocked out of me. Of course I am going to do whatever I can for him.
Sorry for all this depressing talk. I am glad Christmas is not over yet and that it is snowing here. It is so beautiful and comforting somehow.
I will see all here for Lovemas later on xo Thank you all for your prayers.....xo
What's Russian weight lifters got to do with it?I should have been more specific: I thought that would make a nice little demitasse for Binger.
CM3, I will continue praying for Wish. I am sorry for the sad news.
Remember when my uncle's dog was very sick with cancer and the vets/hospital said he wouldn't survive the surgery? He is perfectly healthy now even though they said he wouldn't live more than a couple of weeks. It has been months.
I am going to have that same optimism when it comes to Wish. Hopefully the meds and fluids work a miracle and he will be healthy and the quality of his life will be excellent!
You're in my thoughts and prayers!

Praying for sweet Wish!
I saw this prayer, and thought it was beautiful.
My most compassionate St. Francis, look down on this special pup, Wishbone- who needs you so much! Please send your strength and guidance for recovery, your power for pain relief and healing, most of all compassionate understanding and love for him and his wonderful Mother who cherishes him so....
XO
Good afternoon/evening!!! I am DONE with work (well, work I get paid to do...lol) for the year!!! What a great feeling! Last I heard my bro/sil were in Buffalo, NY at 10:30 this morning, heading home & were expecting to be here around 6 or 7 tonight. I'm sure their travels have not been great. Crazy weather & wind!!! I wish we would hear something from them soon. And I'm hoping to be Christmassing with them at my parents very soon!!! I have things I should be doing at home (wrapping gifts, chopping veggies, finishing border on the afghan) BUT I just feel like having a drink & snacks with family or friends!!! Lol! Time for some Christmas cheer!!
Beautiful!!! Looks like it's from a magazine!
I am so sorry to hear your news about Wish. I'll be sending up good wishes & prayers! We just love our "babies" so much!
