Reopening in March is the estimate but they aren't sure how widespread the unseen damage may be.

I have something funny to tell you about Crock Pots since a lot of you cook in them (including myself). I was watching, a few years ago, the old Match Game shows with Gene Rayburn (from the early 70's) someone mentioned about a Crock Pot. Gene said, "What is that"? Others replied and told him it's some new kind of cooking device and explained how it worked. He kind of grumbled and said something to the effect that it will never catch on, people will not be cooking in something like that and he wanted no part of it! I died laughing when I heard that!!! Wow, was he wrong!

I loved watching the old Match Game shows!

Those were quite funny!

I don't remember any of my dreams last night!

Last night I dreamed a big musical production number involving people I went to school with ~ love dreams like that!

If there is any Dan Brown fans here, he announced the title of his new novel. It is called "Inferno" and is coming out May 14.

He is probably my favorite author, and I have enjoyed all his novels.

I cannot wait, I read his last book "The Lost Symbol" in less than 24 hours.

I've read a few of his books ~ looking forward to this one, too!

The flu has come knockin'...down for the count over here. I just hope my little grandson doesn't get it as I took care of him today. It hit me like a ton of bricks this afternoon, chills, fever...upset tummy. Blech!

I hope you are better soon and that your grandson does not catch it, too!

Yay ! milestone day! Come on clock keep ticking! it's a rainy mild morning of 66F and the temp will stay around that or drop slightly ,then starting tonight 30's and 40's again!!! I meant to mention yesterday that tree pollen is falling.. which is a record early event here.. I don't ever ever remember that happening this early.. my first 2 years in fact it was mid march before that happened. oh well hopefully the chilly temps will make that stop for now! 2weeks before I go to Utah too. Oh well I just got to work so I have to run..Hope everyone has a great Thursday!

Good Morning MMC!!!!! Well it's winter so it's cold outside. It looks like we may get a slight warm up on Saturday though before the bottom falls out on Monday. Once again, I'm exhausted. I really need to stop staying up until 3 and 4 am. My sister in Seattle was freaking out last night though and kept calling. My BIL works for Boeing building the 787 and if you've watched the news lately, you'll know that they had some problems. So there boss told them yesterday that there were rumors that they may have to shut the whole line down and layoff 5000 of them while they do a redesign. So my sister is worried because they really can't afford to lose their insurance with my niece having to have the infusions. Hopefully they learn something more today to calm her nerves. Well I'm off to get some stuff done or maybe head back to bed. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!

Praying everything will work out!

Good morning. More rain this morning. Forecast to turn to snow after lunch. We should get around 8 inches of snow on top of the 12 inches of rain we've already had this week. Mudslides are happening all around us. Hwy 441 across the Great Smoky Mountain National Parkway is closed due to a major mudslide. I love the snow and cold but the flooding and mudslides are no fun.

Be safe! I made snowcream last year, but I didn't like the recipe I used ~ I might have put in too much extract. What is yours? I hope this finds your parents having a good day ~ they are in my prayers!

Good Thursday morning, my Christmas friends!

I went to my brother's shop and we painted the car frame, so we'll be ready to put the front end back on the car body this weekend. He took me for a ride in another car that has about the same engine as mine will have. Let's just say my brother enjoys fast cars more than I do...whew! We're going to have to tone it down a bit if Jacob is ever going to be allowed to drive it!

So your kids have to go to school in the snow? I can just picture your daughter looking over her shoulder. Remember when it was YOU looking over your shoulder at your mum?

I do have very vague memories from back then! Mum said I clung on to her crying the first few times she took me, she said the teacher used to take me to one side so mum could run out haha! She always rang the nursery when she got home to make sure I was ok though hehe!'

They only go to school in the snow if all the teachers can make it safely in, most of them have a fair bit to travel to get to school so if conditions get too bad they close the school, pretty much all the kids are only a short walk away so it's not too bad getting them there x

Let me be the first to say that Christmas Season will be here before we know it and we will be wishing that it would slow down!!! It will soon be Canadian Thanksgiving, Halloween, U.S. Thanksgiving, and then the beginning of the Season with the Special Posts. Time is already flying!!! Don't you just feel it?

Have your sister check with the local Elks Lodge. Elks have children's charities that help kids with medical needs, vision screening, hearing screening, etc. at no cost. In California alone, we raised close to $3 million for kids last year. We are the third highest group in the NATION that give out scholarships. Microsoft (via Bill Gates) is #1, and the U.S. government is #2. It used to be the government #1, Elks #2. Let me know if you need any help and I will find out some information for your sister.

I miss snowcream so much. I am not a vanilla ice cream person (much prefer chocolate) but snowcream is another matter. LOVE it!!! Take care, my friend.

Time for work, and Hubby is out scrapping the car and turning on the heat. Not many days left to work before retirement sets in! LOL
