Thanks for thinking of me.
Made's habits are wearing off on me, and I never dozed off last night. My brain wouldn't turn off, I guess. So frustrating.
I rested a lot today, and applied to a few different places. We really need the money, so please keep your fingers crossed.
Sorry I haven't commented on anything, I did get caught up but am pretty darn exhausted. Thinking of you all, you're always close to my heart.

I hope your garden fares well, but I have to admit to a great deal of envy concerning your frost advisory. At one point today, the thermometer read 95°. It's a much nicer 77° now at 9pm.

After all this 100 Days To Christmas talk today, I realized I better get started on my Christmas afghan or it will have to wait until next year! Soooo...that's what I did tonight! I only have the foundation row + 1 1/2 more rows done, but it's a start!!! :grin: We are at 56º now - supposed to be 44º for our walk in the morning. We'll have to bundle up!!

Thank you, Holiday! That is a good start on your Christmas afghan! I really need to finish a few of the ones I have started and set aside for various reasons. They tend to pile up after a while! cheesy

I am calling it a night, too. I have had NO energy today.

Good Morning! How was your evening/night? Hope you are all ready for a new day. Still raining here. I've got some Billie Holiday on and getting on with some house chores. Baby has just gone down for a nap so I might have a little coffee break!

We did get the chance to crack open a bottle of red wine and watch a couple old movies last night as planned. It was good o see them again after such a long time. We might keep the theme tonight and watch Guys and Dolls. I don't know what it is about the stormy weather that makes me want to go back in time.... I suppose the nostalgia is comforting somehow.

Ok well sorry for the random babbling.......lol Have a really good day everyone!

I just got back from walking the dogs. It is breezy and cool this morning. Temperatures are in the upper 40's and we will warm up to 65 degrees today. It finally feels like Fall weather.
My youngest is home from school today with a sore throat. I'm going to take her in to the doctor to make sure its not strep. I also need to go to the supermarket for a few things. Not too much else going on.

Good morning all. The weather is starting to look nice here. The forecast high today is 69. Looking out on the 10 day forecast our highs should stay in the mid 70s with lows in upper 40s/lower 50s. Hopefully we are finished with 80 degree days. This coming Sunday we get to celebrate the start of Fall. Hope the first frost is soon.

We are driving down to check on my parents this weekend. Right now they are holding their own. We are now praying they are home and able to enjoy Thanksgiving and Christmas.

I have survived my first shift back at Subway! It was like I had never left. It was a crazy day there, the inspector came in, the weekly order arrived and the delivery guy just dumped it in the middle of the hall, the head boss showed up, the other worker just up and left before the lunch rush saying she needed to be at an appointment. Yep, just like I remembered it!

Well I was able to sit out in my shorts and t shrit tonight and not freeze. So I guess the forecasters are right when they say we are going to warm back up for the next couple of days. At least they are only saying 85 for the next 2 days instead of 90 like they were talking about.

Good morning, MMC!

It was only 46 degrees when I woke up this morning. I wasn't expecting it to be so cold! We had to turn the heat on in my house.

I know I haven't been around very much. I just had surgery on Friday. It is nothing serious and I have known that I'd be getting the surgery for quite some time. It went smoothly except my heart rate jumped up to over 200 in recovery. Apparently during my surgery they gave me adrenaline so that caused the jump. They had to give me a beta blocker and then it dropped back down near 120. My resting heart rate is always near 100 so I wasn't too surprised considering the anesthesia and the other stuff they probably gave me. I had EKGs done while I was there and everything was fine. I got to go home the same day as the surgery.

Now that I have so much free time on my hands I will just have to spend it here

I am loving all of the fall candles and I cannot wait for the holidays, woo hoo!

I watched the rest of the game last night and saw my Bengals pull out a tough win. I tried to come back here a few times during the game but couldn't get on, I was worried my IP address was blocked again but here I am. I dropped the boys off at school and then took a trip to KMart to look at their Halloween stuff, nothing too exciting this year, but their Harvest/Thanksgiving stuff was was very nice. I then went to check out Goodwill for their Christmas stuff, no good decorations, but I did get a Christmas DVD for $2, "Rick Steves European Christmas" I know you are a big fan of that CAH, so I got it partly because of your past reviews on it. (and the fact it was only $2)

I weighed myself this morning to see how I am doing with my "diet" after my cholesterol screening last week, and according to my scale I have lost 6lbs in a week. I was expecting 1-2 maybe 3lbs at most but 6?!!!! I must have been ingesting quite a bit of calories before I have gone to sensible portions, and I have cut out the candy for the most part, and the free donuts at work. cheesy

I have things to do around the house, I will be popping on throughout the day.

Time to look for work, submit some resumes, and I'm going over to a department store to introduce myself personally. My girlfriend manages the one in La Crosse, and referred me. I don't even know that they're hiring, but fingers are crossed.

Hey gang! Hope everyne had a great weekend. The family and I went apple picking/. Made 3 batches of apple sauce and a batch of apple butter. Canned them all. The apple butter will be used as teacher gifts come Christmas.

Still have plenty of apples left so I am thinking aboutmaking more apple butter and apple suace.

Its really chilly here today and my daughter has cheerleading practice outsode tonight so I am think by the time practice is done she will be hungry and cold. Perfect night for grill cheese and tomato soup for dinner.

Same here! I have been a die hard Cowboys fan since I was 5 years old sitting with my dad and uncle screaming right along with them as they cheered them on! I had no idea what was going on then but it was fun yelling at the TV!

I checked our forecast, too, and it is looking good for the next couple of weeks. The forecast calls for possible severe weather tomorrow/Thursday. Not looking forward to that, but the temps of no higher than 84 and no lower than 40 something will be nice!!

Thank you, everyone, for the prayers/well wishes - the garden survived! :???:
The tops of a few of the leaves on the mint, basil and tomatoes got a little dark, but the plants are fine. Looks like there could be at least 2 more weeks for the garden to grow and the vegetables to ripen - so happy!

Canned tomatoes and then made a pot of chipotle tomato sauce I am going to freeze later. Smells spicy! Guess I was on my feet too long - knee is sore now. Haven't taken anything for it yet, so I will shortly before I go to bed - should help me sleep, too! Yay!

The mosquito abatement truck just sprayed by the house - the mosquitoes are still out so I am glad they went by today.

There are still a few things I need to do before I can relax, so I am going to call it a night.
