Thanks Merry !!! Gosh, I never realized how much I love my jeans and tops until I had to start shopping for a dress...eeeyuck...xoxo

Sounds like my attitude toward clothes-shopping ... comfort usually wins out over fashion.

Hello everyone. I have my 16 year old home from school today, she's complaining of stomach ache. Hopefully it will pass soon. Other than that, I am off to a good start today. So far I have straightened up the house, started laundry, walked the dogs and ran to Target for a few things. Just having a quick cup of coffee now before I start some more chores. It's sunny outside today but still chilly. I'm going to make a big pot of Minestrone soup for dinner. I hope everyone has a great day!

I hope that your daughter feels better!!

The soup sounds delicious, and perfect for such a cold day!

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

It's been a cold weekend, and it's still cold today, but we should be in the low 70's by next weekend. I get to ride in the Rattlesnake and Wildlife Festival parade this Saturday, representing the City of Bellville. That's always fun. None of the council members ever want to join me, so Bernie rides with me, since he's Bellville's most famous resident. My son usually rides, too, but he's working at the festival this year.

My family is finally back form the weekend mission trip. Jacob has a bad cold as a result of working in the cold, but he'll be ok. I'm just glad they're home!

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

Hey Brad!

Hope Jacob feels better soon!

How was your weekend?

be heartsick no more! Hop on the lear and come here. We have mountains of snow and it is -8c (17f)

I love a parade!
Good to hear your family is back home safe again...did you get the party mess cleaned up before they got home?
My sister once went away for 2 weeks and came home to a spotless house, she was so proud of her hubby for managing well with looking after their small daughter and keeping things so clean (even the laundry!) Later when talking to a neighbour she found out that he hired a cleaning company to come in a couple of days before she came home to do all the work. LOL. She loved his ingenuity.

Not much to do today. A bit of laundry, some cleaning.
Working on a cake for this Saturday (butterflies and an angel)
Have the annual meeting to go to at church tonight, so it will be a long one.
and of course the ever popular hanging out here!

Interview tomorrow, so I have been doing research on that to make sure I know the answer to any possible questions they might ask. Anyone have any tips that may help?

More pretty eerie ... I had a similar experience with World Book, without the mysterious box. We had a full set of World Book, and when I was little I loved to lug out a volume, any volume, and browse through it, reading whatever caught my interest. I also had three volumes of Tell Me Why, but they always seemed like "kiddie stuff" to me, compared with the World Book. I'm sure I absorbed good spelling, grammar, and punctuation as well as a lot of info from those books. And my mom got a kick out of telling her friends I read the encyclopedia!

So I'm not the only child who read World Book & Childcraft? My mother still makes fun of me for asking for a globe for Christmas one year when I was a child...

Good Monday morning everyone.

We had a great weekend with wonderful weather. We got about 4 inches of snow Saturday evening so we stayed in, had a fire in the fireplace, ate snow cream, and watched a movie. Our son is a junior in high school so my wife and I especially enjoy these times when it is just the 3 of us together.

We should have a good weather week. Temp was a cool 18 when I left for work today and we have a winter storm watch starting tomorrow evening with a possibly 7-9 inches of snow coming. That would be great. The only sad thing is it is probably winter's last real gasp this year.

Our son doesn't agree with me. He is anxious for winter to end. We have have already had our opening high school baseball game snowed out and now it looks like tomorrow's game will be postponed. I assure him we will get playing soon. I really torn. I love winter weather and baseball and you can't have both together...

Have a blessed day everyone and bring on the snow.

y'all be safe up there. I understand your son wanting baseball to start. back in the day my son played & I loved it. turned out he liked football better (or was he just better @ that?) I cherish all the quiet time w/ my children too. things certainly change when they begin getting older.

Thanks MM !!! Awww... you are so kind in your comments about me, thanks. I will try those stores definitely ! I wanted to see The Bible... is that the new series on the Bible ?? I saw something about a show on it that is supposed to be like reality TV or something ?? xo

(((HUGS)) to you !! xo

Yes, The Bible was very good last night. I think it's like a 10 part series on the History channel. has just a bit of narration. the reality show is "Myrtle Manor". i think it might be 1 of those "Honey Booboo" reality shows. Love it or hate it, it gets good ratings (Honey Booboo, I mean). I have a Maggie also. she's a chocolate lab. good luck finding the perfect dress!

Happy Dog says thanks for the shout-out, and right back at ya!

what a cutey patootie!

So I'm not the only child who read World Book & Childcraft?

Wow, we're going to have to start a club! I thought I was the only weird kid who did that until I read your post and CM3's. The only difference is I didn't have Childcraft, the just encyclopedia and some Year Books.

My grandma had a set of Childcraft books and I loved them! She also had World Books that I enjoyed reading in. Kind of sad...the Internet has made some of those types of books go the way of the buffalo.

But it could be you ----It's cute enough !!! xo

CM3- What are they saying for snow up your way? If I average out all of the reports here, it looks like 4 to 6 inches.

I just love this little kitty, CM3!

Good evening, Christmas family

Just getting ready to hit the hay for another evening. I feel really bad. I had to correct my Hermione tonight and she is so sensitive that her feelings got hurt ! One thing I have read and learned personally about Bloodhounds is that they are VERY SENSITIVE emotionally. She is part Golden too but I think she takes more after her father, the Bloodhound. After I corrected her, she looked at me with this awful sad and drooping look as if to say ..."What did I do mommy ?" I didn't hit her or anything but I have found that as a hound she likes to challenge authority (MY kind of GIRL !) so you have to be pretty stern.

I kept up my "mean mommy" face until she fell asleep as I sat on the couch opposite her crying without her knowing.....In true older sibling fashion, Clancy seemed to relish the fact that Hermione was being disciplined. In fact she almost seemed to be beaming as if to say "I'm always good, mom !!"

Wish is as much a character as always. In fact tonight he was chewing a Nylabone, something he hasn't done in I dont know how long !! By the grace of God he seems to be feeling really good right now.

I started the long and arduous task of finding a dress to wear to my youngest goddaughter's wedding in April. ARRRRGH...I HATE shopping for dresses. The dresses seem to swing from promiscuous to great-grandmother in style. Nothing in between and I am neither of those. Any of you ladies have any hints on where to shop for a nice, pretty dress suitable for a wedding guest ??

I am starting to nod off so I will hopefully TTYT xoxo

Seawaters - I hope you get good news on what is going on.

Brent - Thank you again so much for those beautiful pictures.

Take care Christmas family. Big (((((Hugs))))) to all ESPECIALLY:
