Good evening, Christmas family

Just getting ready to hit the hay for another evening. I feel really bad. I had to correct my Hermione tonight and she is so sensitive that her feelings got hurt ! One thing I have read and learned personally about Bloodhounds is that they are VERY SENSITIVE emotionally. She is part Golden too but I think she takes more after her father, the Bloodhound. After I corrected her, she looked at me with this awful sad and drooping look as if to say ..."What did I do mommy ?" I didn't hit her or anything but I have found that as a hound she likes to challenge authority (MY kind of GIRL !) so you have to be pretty stern.

I kept up my "mean mommy" face until she fell asleep as I sat on the couch opposite her crying without her knowing.....In true older sibling fashion, Clancy seemed to relish the fact that Hermione was being disciplined. In fact she almost seemed to be beaming as if to say "I'm always good, mom !!"

Wish is as much a character as always. In fact tonight he was chewing a Nylabone, something he hasn't done in I dont know how long !! By the grace of God he seems to be feeling really good right now.

I started the long and arduous task of finding a dress to wear to my youngest goddaughter's wedding in April. ARRRRGH...I HATE shopping for dresses. The dresses seem to swing from promiscuous to great-grandmother in style. Nothing in between and I am neither of those. Any of you ladies have any hints on where to shop for a nice, pretty dress suitable for a wedding guest ??

I am starting to nod off so I will hopefully TTYT xoxo

Seawaters - I hope you get good news on what is going on.

Brent - Thank you again so much for those beautiful pictures.

Take care Christmas family. Big (((((Hugs))))) to all ESPECIALLY:

Hey CM3! i understand your being upset by disciplining Hermione, but I'm sure she's loving & kissing on you this a.m.

I'm sure you've seen wrap dresses. you are so tiny & would look great in anything! they say wrap dresses flatter all body shapes. I'm not 1 for dresses either but if I were, I think I would try that. As Snowflake mentioned, i think those stores would be great places to look. Good luck doll!

Snowflake, how's your back now? sure hope you're feeling better.

CAH & Tex, i read on FB that you both are under the weather 7 I hope y'all feel better very soon.

how's everyone doin? we are all fine here in South Cackalakee!
hubby & I went Saturday to a biker church fish fry & bake sale. we brought the plates home. the food was delicious. Haven't had fish that good in a long time. we bought a red velvet cake & it is very good also. only thing is, it's full of toothpicks! I guess the baker used them to hold the layers together. I think it should have come w/ a warning, lol.

we watched "The Bible" last night. I thought it was very good. did anyone else here watch it? if so, what did you think?

have any of you seen the advertisement for "Myrtle Manor?" I think it's on TLC. didn't know until this a.m. that it's filmed in Myrtle Beach, S.C. it's, yet another, reality show! takes place in a trailer park, yes, a trailer park! a friend of mine on FB said she wishes she could get back the 1/2 hour it took to watch it. lol, I still think I would like to see it 1x.
nothing planned for today but cutting coupons & searching for some deals. I hope each of you have a fabulous day!:give:

Good Monday morning! I am so heartsick this morning and I don't know why!! It's cold and nice outside..I guess I know this will be the last of the cold weather I love so much until next fall!! Well that is just 6 to 7 months away! I can already see myself decorating the outside of my house and the inside for Halloween. I simply love Halloween. Now that I have kids and am thinking I will like it even more.! Anyways it's thoughts like that...that are getting me through this spring and summer. Have a good Monday everyone!

Trust me my friend, your future memories will be some of the best ones in your life of the Halloweens spent with the kids.... Mine are now 18 and 20 and the Trick-or-Treating days are now long over with (and it was hard to realize that they were, especially when the time came and they didn't want to go out anymore). I can still remember all the times we went out with the kids and the things we learned as time went by. Here's a few things that we did:
  • Wagon
  • Blankets in the wagon
  • extra candy bags (one to dump their buckets into to keep them light or else in a matter of time they'll be dragging on the ground and the other as a spare; just in case)
  • Flashlights
  • neon bracelets - helps to keep track which kid is yours in the dark while they're all running from house to house.
  • Small Cooler - Ahemmm; just in case Mom and Dad got thirsty.....
  • Gloves - those little fingers get cold quick and so does the big ones pulling the wagon
  • Camera
  • Have the In-laws over, while your out Trick-or-Treating, they can give out candy to all the kids coming to your house. This way, you and the wife can be together....
In all, you'll have a blast....Foe me, Looking back at the videos now, we had a blast and to see them in their costumes that they wore back then, it's adorable....

Hi merrymistletoe!!

My back is much better, thank you for asking. I feel a little twinge every once in awhile if I sit a certain way or walk a certain way, but otherwise pretty good!

The fish fry sounds delicious!! I love going to them as well! The cake sounds wonderful, too, however I do think you should have had a heads up about the toothpicks ;-)

Hope you have a beautiful day, friend!!

Good Monday morning everyone.

We had a great weekend with wonderful weather. We got about 4 inches of snow Saturday evening so we stayed in, had a fire in the fireplace, ate snow cream, and watched a movie. Our son is a junior in high school so my wife and I especially enjoy these times when it is just the 3 of us together.

We should have a good weather week. Temp was a cool 18 when I left for work today and we have a winter storm watch starting tomorrow evening with a possibly 7-9 inches of snow coming. That would be great. The only sad thing is it is probably winter's last real gasp this year.

Our son doesn't agree with me. He is anxious for winter to end. We have have already had our opening high school baseball game snowed out and now it looks like tomorrow's game will be postponed. I assure him we will get playing soon. I really torn. I love winter weather and baseball and you can't have both together...

Have a blessed day everyone and bring on the snow.

Anybody else feel like weekends are too short? Anybody else disappointed that there are no office-closing holidays in March? This is just Monday morning speaking. I'm only a few weeks away from a trip back home to Maryland (albeit for a bittersweet purpose); I should try to focus on that.

If you find a nice skirt and blouse that you like, I'm sure that would be fine, too.

Good Morning MMC!!!!! The sun is out for the second day in a row but it looks like the clouds will be back soon. We might see a little bit of rain/sleet today but it looks like tomorrow is when the fun will start. I don't think that any of the news stations really have any clue what we are going to get yet. One is saying 1 to 2 inches. The other is saying 3 to 5 inches and the other is saying 5 to 7 inches. So I guess I'll just wait and see. They have ruled out the all rain model from yesterday though. Today I don't really have anything going on. So I'm going to put a Christmas movie in the dvd player and relax. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!

Molly and Maggie will be added !!! I used to have a sweet little girl named Maggie when I was younger....Now I have Clancy, Wishbone, Hermione, and two kitties, Smokey and Lily !! xo You are more than welcome here !!! We love having you !! xo
Thank you CanineMom3! I also have two kitties, Bella and Bentley :-D

Thanks for the photos, Brent.
What a fabulous series that would have been for the Blossoms thread!

You're welcome, Crown. Yes. It would have been great to contribute those to the Blossoms thread. I could not wait the seven months until the thread returns, however! :) I'll be sure to stop in and return with pictures in late September.

...Also, I may have to visit in July and be the first to experience (and photograph) the 2013 Christmas decorations!

Glad you enjoyed the photos!

Good morning everyone!

It is the first full work week of March. A new month. A new season will begin in just over two weeks! The temperature in Ottawa is still well below freezing, especially with the windchill. However, the rest of the week is calling for high temperatures to be above freezing. The warm(er) air and sun should melt some of the massive amounts of snow that we have received this year. High temperatures for the week of +5c (41f). I'll take it!

Glad I everyone enjoyed the photos from my visit to Tinseltown. It was a magical experience and I cannot wait to return. It's a great little corner of Christmas year-round. In regards to this week, there are not many plans, which is good... I have some school work that requires my focus. It's the final month for my course. It will be great to finally have it completed on March 29th!

Have a great Monday, everyone!

Hello everyone. I have my 16 year old home from school today, she's complaining of stomach ache. Hopefully it will pass soon. Other than that, I am off to a good start today. So far I have straightened up the house, started laundry, walked the dogs and ran to Target for a few things. Just having a quick cup of coffee now before I start some more chores. It's sunny outside today but still chilly. I'm going to make a big pot of Minestrone soup for dinner. I hope everyone has a great day!

and ETA @Cm3-I just read about you feeling bad about reprimanding your dogs.lol I do the same thing and will feel sooo guilty it makes me want to go home and baby them even more when I read your post! don't feel bad...I have always read that dogs want to let their owners take control over them..I don't know If I agree with that though. My pookie was the most strong willed dog I have ever had and looked at me the same way when I got on to her:(

It is hard to discipline especially if a furkid is strong willed. I never think of myself as their owner, just their mommy or caretaker if you will xoxoxo

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

It's been a cold weekend, and it's still cold today, but we should be in the low 70's by next weekend. I get to ride in the Rattlesnake and Wildlife Festival parade this Saturday, representing the City of Bellville. That's always fun. None of the council members ever want to join me, so Bernie rides with me, since he's Bellville's most famous resident. My son usually rides, too, but he's working at the festival this year.

My family is finally back form the weekend mission trip. Jacob has a bad cold as a result of working in the cold, but he'll be ok. I'm just glad they're home!

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

I would be concerned if you never corrected her, anyone who loves their pet knows if you want them to be well trained you have to discipline and correct from time to time.
She will get over it and so will you! Keep up the loving!!!
