Love it. I don't buy many Christmas T-shirts because I get so cold. I have to wear something underneath, so I prefer Christmas sweatshirts or sweaters.

I always have a long sleeve T shirt under them, I guess I am like the "Sheldon" (Big Bang Theory) of Christmas shirts. cheesy

I was aghast! Excuse me? Third grade math curriculum has ALWAYS been addition and subtraction with carrying and borrowing (now called regrouping); multiplication facts; beginning multi-digit multiplication; beginning division; some geometry as in shape identification, perimeter and area; and beginning fractions. When I say ALWAYS, that means from my mom's time, to my time, to present time; so it's not like a big change in math curriculum happened at all. Plus, these are the things tested on the state test at third grade. We teachers did not determine the curriculum; the state did. Nor was this curriculum introduced this year! The principal wants us to spend our next collaboration day seeing what we could take out of the curriculum!!! Can you believe that? What in the world is hard about memorizing multiplication facts? Shall we not teach it and let the kids be unprepared for fourth grade? But maybe next year these same concerned parents will want the fourth grade teachers not tax the brains of the kids again! Of course, memorizing math facts does interfere with computer time, game-playing time, TV time, sports time, etc. Heaven forbid that we should require homework either. I just had to vent at such stupidity, especially on behalf of our principal. I am floored!!! I wonder what the principal and the parents will say when they get the results of the state test? Of course, it will still be the teacher's fault! Please, let me lower my standards so your kid will not have to work!!! Sorry for the rant.

Wow I couldn't agree with you more !! Parents are getting out of control they think every kid should get an A and not have to work for it. Most parents don't want to be bothered with any of it the just want to send their kids to school and if anything goes wrong blame the teachers.

LC is begging to go back to that house already, we haven't told him his preschool is closing yet, probably next week. He is going to be devastated.

Awww..I'm sorry Xmas. Poor little guy xo But he has a wonderful mommy and daddy so he will be fine xo

Y'all need to stop talking about Tastykakes!!!!!!!! I haven't seen any around here in a couple of months.

Sorry 'bout that! I grew up with them, and they started showing up in stores here after Hostess went out of business, so we're still excited at being able to get them locally.

Maybe we should have an annual snack cake exchange so everybody can sample the various regional brands! (Not really)

I know your dad is so glad you are his daughter. I am sure he is so proud of the way you perservered for him xo

I hope so. It wasn't his way to show that sort of pride when he was among us, but I hope he felt some. I know he felt that I snagged a fine husband! All our family were stubborn in various ways, so the perseverance is that old family trait in another dress.

I haven't seen Tastykakes around here. It's all Little Debbie around here. I miss Hostess.

If you come east this way sometime, check the Stop & Shop. That's where we get 'em.
There may be a Coconut Junior in my future this evening. I'm making myself hungry!

Good evening, Christmas family

Just settling down watching a movie. Had a hair appointment today to replenish my "naturally" red hair :-o I worked this morning as I have for the last 11 mornings in a row. I don't mind. At least this is ME CHOOSING to do that. It is the only way to get enough lines to pay the bills at 7.5 cents a line. I have really buckled down lately and have FINALLY been "putting the pedal to the metal" in terms of working.

My tree is nearly down. I need another box for the last ones......I already miss it but for some reason I am not sad this year....as much as I hate to admit it, it felt like the "right" day to take it down. Besides, I have all of you to keep me in a holly jolly mood !! xo

Xmas - I hope your little boy will be okay with the changes.

Seawaters - I hope you were able to get warm and out of pain.

I may be back later, dear Christmas family xoxoxo

Almost forgot to mention ... My tree fits nice and snugly into the big trash barrel we bought as storage. I tucked it in this evening. We had to go out and get some supersize clear trash bags to cover it with to keep the dust out, and it was golden. A little tough fitting the bags over the top, but much easier than trying to wrestle the tree into a storage bag! Next year all I have to do is pull off the bag, lift the tree out, shape the branches, and I'll be ready to string the lights and decorate.

I'm sorry you are having a hard time taking the tree down. Mine comes down on Tuesday.

Good evening, MMC!

I hope everyone is well! The last of the snow is gone ~ just in time for the cold front that is coming through. So very glad the ice is gone!!! I am getting ready to watch the first hour of the new Fright Night movie with Colin Ferrill ~ it is so nice when there is free movie channels on the preview! Later on, I will be listening to The Greasy Skillet.

Have a MERRY evening!
