Christmas Countdown - 2013

I feel terrible for people with waterfront homes on the North and South Shores of Massachusetts. They're getting terribly pounded with flooding and heavy winds, and were pounded back in February during the blizzard---some of the homes are beginning to collapse from foundation damage from the beaches being pounded with waves and wind.

This storm is hundreds of miles out to sea, but still packing heavy snow and winds. They didn't predict that it would intensify the way it did.

I'm grateful to be indoors working from home with my mug of cocoa and my laptop, but I feel so awful for those losing their homes and property.

Wow, I was disappointed that we didn't have any of the snow storm, but now I'm glad it missed us!

Good morning, dear Christmas family

As per usual I am pounding the keyboard typing what the doctors say (??) and just wanted to take a little break. I was very selfish this morning and I Pre-ordered the Holiday Barbie for 2013 !! She is just BEAUTIFUL and I do collect some of the Barbies ! I couldnt stand waiting to see if someone would get her for me because I really want her. She will be in sometime in the Summer and I can't wait. Here is her picture:

I thought this one was more pretty than the blonde one. I have so many blonde Barbies and it is nice to see a darker haired representation.

I have been collecting Barbies for my daughter ever since she was born. Every year (she's 18 now), she still gets a Holiday Barbie for Christmas and throughout the year, every once and awhile, i will buy her a special/ limited issue one. She never opens them up. They're all tucked away, nice and neat in big boxes for the future.

Caninemom3, both of my cats are rescues. Its a beautiful thing, isn't it?

All 5 of our cats are rescues, Merlin was found on the side of the road as a kitten, the other 4 were found in our backyard at only 3-4 weeks old. Their cat parents were feral, but they are all very loving when you think of where they started.

You deserve it! It's nice to hear that holiday 2013 stuff is already ready for preorder. I know the 2013 Possible Dreams Santa's come out in 2 months, I've already seen the pictures of them online.

Good Friday morning, my Christmas friends!

It's still a little chilly down here this morning, in the mid-30's. It's supposed to be in the upper 60's this weekend, though. Bernie's is going to ride in the parade with me tomorrow morning. We're driving a MINT '57 Chevy that my brother is storing for a customer of his. Don't worry; I have permission to use the car! It should be fun!

Nice! I love the 57 Chevy, but my all time favorite car is the 55 Chevy. Just like the one Harrison Ford drives in American Graffiti.

I saw on NECN that large home on the that collapsed. This storm is a lot worse than what they said

I called out sick again today, which was probably a good thing since we have already gotten 15-17 inches of snow and it is still coming down pretty heavy. The news said last night 4-6 inches total. Another day of rest awaits me, everyone is home for a snow day since schools were cancelled.

Good Morning MMC!!!!! I woke up to this big shiny thing in the sky this morning. My neighbor says it's the sun but it's been so long since I've seen it that I've forgot what it looks like. So I'm not sure if thats what it is or not. Today my plan is to try and get some stuff done around my apartment. Hopefully my friend won't show up, like he has every other day this week, and I can actually get something done. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning, everyone ... snow really picked up in the wee hours, so I'm working from home today. It's a bit of a pain to constantly monitor email and jump on what comes in, but it's better than trying to drive in the snow. It's still coming down pretty good, but it's supposed to taper off in a few hours.

Good morning! The kids did not get the snow day that they wanted. But we did get a couple of inches and it is still coming down. Should be ending by noon. I'll take whatever snow we can get at this point, spring is right around the corner.
My daugher has her junior prom tonight, she is so excited. We will be busy after school getting ready for that.

You're welcome to it. We weren't expecting a storm of this magnitude, and it's getting scary. The news is showing a house on the shoreline on Plum Island that is dangling at a 45-degree angle over the water; it'll plunge into the ocean during the next high tide. You can see the personal belongings from the house falling in the ocean and drifting out to sea. I tried to shovel, but I can't get my car free, even though Mr. shoveled before he left for work. And there's more snow in the roadway than in the part of the driveway I shoveled. I'm hoping Mr. can get home from work safely this evening. The flooding on the coastline is dreadful. It was pretty seeing it out the window earlier today; now it's upsetting.
