my firends 59th birthday party was on Saturday. We had a nice time at a local eatery. I made this cake for her...

This is so beautiful !!! You have another friend who will be 59 in September (hint, hint !!) and I think a polar bear cake would make this person happy !! xoxoxoo

They actually think she may have appendicitis now. She had a piece of toast this morning though, so they can't do the ultrasound until tomorrow morning.

Hello folks. Hoping to catch up after being away for a bit. I've had quite an eventful time. My parents were involved in a fairly serious car accident but thankfully are alive and well, apart from so aches and pains. They were extremely lucky given how bad the accident was to walk away from it. Certainly puts things into perspective for you.

Oh No !!!! I am so glad your parents are okay !! Will be praying for their swift recovery...And thanking Heaven for the guardian angels watching your mum and dad xo

It's been a busy day so far ... I'm tired already.

I didn't understand that either. Then they said that the ultrasound probably won't even show it and they will have to do a CT scan. So why they didn't just order that to begin with, I don't know.

She's not really in a lot of pain, so if it is appendicitis, it's not real bad yet.

But if it is appendicitis they SHOULD be concerned about the appendix rupturing.....Just sayin' xoxoxo

Rough day today. A friend of mine's 17 year old son hung himself this morning. Our son has played baseball with/against him since t-ball. You never know what is going on inside a teenagers mind. His parents had no idea how much he was really struggling with their divorce.

Prayers for the family would be much appreciated.

Good evening, everyone! What a Monday it has been! This time change will have me dragging for a good week or so. I swear it felt as if I didn't sleep a wink last night. It's funny that one hour can throw your sleep schedule off entirely. I started back at college today, I was on spring break last week. My friends all have their spring break next week, so I didn't get to do much of anything. The weather was cold and snowy anyway, so I just took the time to relax when I wasn't working. I started another class today in addition to all of my others, it'll be for the remainder of the semester. According to my professors, it is the hardest class that is offered at my college. It doesn't seem too bad to me, though. It is writing intensive but I am very good at writing papers. Nothing has been exciting around here at all. My pap unfortunately seems to be getting worse each day. He lost his sense of taste and smell entirely. I am afraid he won't get both back. Like I said, it's been boring around here! I have the Bachelor finale tonight - at least something interesting is on to watch!

Xmastidings - It is awesome that you saw a house with two Christmas trees up and lit! I am jealous. I probably would have totaled my car since my mouth would have been hanging open in shock. Stay warm and cozy with that weather!

HomemakinGirl - Chicken soup sounds delicious! Today is the perfect day for that kind of food. It's chilly here and a little dreary. I hope you enjoyed your soup!

Meceka - So nice to see you around! I hope you enjoyed your morning walk!

Dawg - I am sorry you were feeling icky this morning. I hope you're feeling all better now. We have the same kind of weather here, not pleasant! I hope the day got better as it went along!

Ryan - Happy belated birthday to your son! I hope he had a wonderful day. Your dog has the best name - so festive! At least cell phone chargers aren't too expensive and easily replaced!

Made - I also love when doctor's offices have wi-fi. I must spend too much time in them, lol. I hope your niece's appointment brings her the relief she needs for the future. The poor girl needs a solution. I have been keeping her in my thoughts and prayers. Not that I am a doctor, but I think she would know if she had appendicitis. From what I heard the pain hits quickly and if she seems to be fine I am not sure if that would be it. Then again, they know and not me! Prayers of course. Praying for you too - you're so good to her and your family!

Brad - Awesome car for the parade! I am sure your vehicle stole the show. I hope you enjoyed your weekend!

Christmasstar - I am also getting bombarded by snowballs. I will get everyone back when they least expect it!! I am glad that you enjoyed your day off and were able to relax - you deserve it! I wish spring would hurry up over here! The cake that you made for your friend is absolutely stunning!

Snowflake - Happy Monday to you, too! I cannot believe you got so much snow. At least it looks pretty! Harlowe sounds absolutely adorable. I think it is so cute that she loves to run through the snow. Let us know if you can get the video uploaded! I will keep Harlowe in my thoughts that she does well with the bloodwork/shot/Frontline. I am sure she will do great. You're in my thoughts/prayers too. Don't be anxious over it!

Merrymistletoe - Sheesh, sounds like you had a busy weekend. Hope you're able to squeeze in some time to relax soon. I hope you are having a great day and that your daughter enjoys her day off!

Brent - Daylight Savings kills me, everytime. It sounds like your weekend was wonderful - I am glad that you and Kim enjoyed yourselves! Ugh to the homework. Sadly I know how that goes. I hope your assignments go very smoothly - I will keep you in my thoughts!

'Tis the season - I am so sorry to hear about your parents' accident. I am glad that they are alright. Someone in my family was hit at 70 mph a couple of months ago and they were able to walk away with bruises and pains as well. It truly does put things into perspective. Praying that they heal quickly!

MerryCarey - I am also looking forward to the extra daylight in the evening. Yikes. Poor Mr! I will keep him in my thoughts that his week goes well.

Coach - Congrats again! I am praying for a healthy baby. A Christmas baby is the best gift of all!

Mcgramsey - I am so sorry to hear about your friend's son. That is so upsetting to hear. It always makes you wonder what others are thinking. I am praying for the family and yours.

Have I ever mentioned how much I hate going to the dentist? My tooth was a little sensitive last night to cold + sore in general and I thought I could feel a little hole when I ran my tongue on my tooth. I always take really good care of my teeth though and I have never had a cavity, so I kind of doubt and I really hope that's not it!

I agree with you. Everyone that I have known with appendicitis had severe pain and was getting sick. She's not doing either. They say her pain is in the right location and she is running a fever though. So who knows. They already have a upper and lower GI scheduled on her next Monday so I guess they are just trying to rule everything else out before then.

So sad about your wife's former student. Suicide itself is sad enough, but for it to be a young person seems to make it seem sadder. Prayers for you wife.

Good afternoon,

It is my day off (or 6th in a row), I am just hoping I don't get in trouble when I head back to work tomorrow for missing so much time. I still am feeling blah, but slowly getting better. My wife had to go to a wake for one her former students, he took his own life last week. He was only 16 years old, and no one saw this coming. Please keep that family in your thoughts and prayers.

We have limited plans for today, just have to do a few more things to prepare for LC's 5th birthday next week.
