Christmas Countdown - 2013

Hello everyone!
The morning is flying by!
I walked the dogs and went to the supermarket so far. I also started some chores but I am having a much needed cup of coffee right now.
It is going to be cloudy here today with temperatures is the mid 60's. We have rain coming through tomorrow. Can't complain, we really need it.
My middle daughter is in the same LPN program that her older sister graduated from last month. She is in the first level of the program and she started clinical today. She was excited this morning, I can't wait to hear about it later.
I hope everyone is having a great day!!!

Good for your daughter!! It's always wonderful when you're studying something that you're passionate about!!

Good Tuesday morning, my Christmas friends!

I survived (barely!) forgetting to pickup the kids at school yesterday.

I spent the afternoon cleaning up the city hall for an expected crowd for our council meeting. An assisted-living retirement community is about to start construction in Bellville. It's a big deal, millions of dollars being spent, and the whole county is looking at Bellville right now. The meeting went well.

I can see the jealousy in the eyes of the officials from the other towns in the county. It's a BIG city-tax revenue generator...but Bellville doesn't have city taxes. It's a point of honor that we don't tax our citizens based on their property values. We just charge $25/month for water and trash pickup, and we have fund-raisers to pay for other needs.

So the new business coming into town won't have a direct financial benefit for Bellville, but they plan to employ 100 people, so the other businesses in town should do better.

I love it when a plan comes together!

You know something, this country needs more leaders like you! Oh, I know of this house, that the lease on it is for 4 years with an extension clause for an additional 4 more years; It's got your name all over it, it would be perfect for you and your family. It's white, kind of an older home... has a Rose garden (w/ all the free manure you want just right down the street at some place called a Senate) And, it's free!!!! Interested???? LOL....

I became an Great Aunt at 10:27 this morning. Here is Elizabeth Grace, who weighs 7 pounds, 8 ounces. Look at her! She looks good for a newborn, and look at those eyes open and looking around already. My niece and nephew-in-law are so proud they're ready to pop. I can't blame them!

Good evening!
My afternoon ended up being busier than expected. My daughter texted me from work saying she had a migraine so I had to drive there to bring her a pill to take. Then we had two doctor appointments later in the day. My youngest daughter is feeling better and will be heading back to school tomorrow. But my oldest has a cold and definitely has pink eye. The doctor prescribed the eye drops and we started them.The good news is she has off from work the next couple of days so she can rest.
I see that a few of you were heading out to enjoy some wine this evening. Next time count me in!

Hope both girls feel a bit better by now

Just took Chico to the vet yesterday for a check up then last night my cat is showing signs of a bladder infection so off to the vet again! I cannot put that off for another day. He just got over one a couple of months ago.

You think that's bad, hear this! I got a call several years back regarding something similar about a sales person wanting me to purchase something. All I said is that I would like to talk to my husband before making a decision and the reply I got was, "Do you always have to ask your husband for permission first"? I was so stunned that I didn't even know what to reply! In our household I am the one in charge of keeping up with the finances, Wayne don't like messing with it and I don't mind but OUT OF RESPECT Wayne and I always discuss everything before making a financial decision, NOT GETTING PERMISSION from each other but just making sure we made the right choice. That is all! I am happy to say it has worked for us because we have never ever ever argued about money and we really don't make a lot but it's not an issue because we discuss things first. Anyway, back to the story, to this day I never replied to the rude lady what I really wanted to say because I was just shocked by her response! It is one of those things you think about later what should have been said to her and she should have been reported to the supervisor. Still makes me mad to this very day especially if she knew how easy going my husband is, far from being controlling (like she wanted to think)!!!!!!!!!! Actually with Wayne with anything I ask him about spending money on something his reply is, "Whatever you want to do is fine with me". He's so controlling, right??? Ha ha! Okay, time to laugh about it now! :lol: (or try to). =)

I'm told that a dog house is too good for me. She did offer to drop me off behind Bernie's store so I could sleep in a cardboard box.

I thought that was pretty generous of her, considering the steam coming out of her ears.

Just lounging around, should be mowing the lawn, but that will be there on Saturday. Peace and quiet is a fleeting thing in this house. cheesy Watching Police Academy, this movie cracks me up and I can't believe it is nearly 30 years old. I may take a nap, I got up early because the boys were arguing while my wife was getting ready. LC did great at his kindergarten evaluation, he is ready for the next step, which also means no more paying for daycare soon.
