I'm having another cup of coffee. I just started a big pot of chicken soup. I'm going to make biscuits too. I feel like comfort food.
I feel so sleepy this afternoon. I wish I didn't have to go out this evening but I still have to go to that mandatory prom meeting at the high school. I just went last year for my oldest but they won't sell the student a prom ticket unless the parent shows up for the meeting.
Anyway, I hope everyone is having a good day so far.
Thinking of you CAH.

Have fun at work!!!

Fun is not allowed where I work. cheesy

My brother-in-law works there, and last week he got in trouble for helping a customer too long. Can you believe that? We wonder why customer service is going downhill, he helps a customer for 5 minutes, and management tells him not to do that. The customer was asking him questions about food planning for a cookout.

Good morning everyone. Thank you all so much for the prayers and well wishes. We are thanking God this morning that we are safe. We have friends and family who lost everything...but some good news was shared last night and into this morning:

A family we are friends with who live across the street from Plaza Towers (the school on the news) is safe and accounted for. Their home is gone, but their family is together!

My wife's cousin lost his house, but his family is safe!

One of my best friends lost his home (he was out of town at the time) but his sons made it out in time and are safe!

A friend that my wife taught with could not locate her two boys for most of last night, but we got word about 8:00 or so that they were found in the hospital and are expected to make it!

The line of folks just wanting to help is literally a mile long in places!

We finally heard from my grandma and her husband and they are safe! They rode it out in their storm shelter and it missed their house by under half a mile, but they're all good! We were very worried as we could not get a hold of them and could not get into that area to check.

Okay...enough for now...but wanted to report there is good news coming out of all this! My wife is very shaken up, and I think my kids are too. Thanks again for all the prayers!

I am glad to hear some your friends and family are all safe and accounted for. After our tornado 2 years ago it was the same thing people were coming out of everywhere to help out. People using all their free time using their chainsaws to cut the fallen trees, volunteering, feeding other people. The tragedy brought out the best in people, there are still signs around town that say "Monson Strong" which was coined a few days after the storm.

Well my sister finally heard back about the official results of my niece's echo cardiogram. The tech was right. She has 2 murmur's and a secundum atrial septal defect. So basically there is a hole between the upper 2 chambers of her heart and there is blood going back and forth between the 2 chambers. They got her into the cardiologist Friday afternoon to see what the next step is.

Thanks for the update, she is still in my thoughts.

During lunch, I was surfing the news and such and thought I would just check up on a whim, for some local related events for something to do this coming weekend and look what I came across:

Oh I just love it when Christmas all of a sudden pops up and make you realize that's it only just around the corner....:-D

I wish I could go!!!!

Thank heaven---they've been able to lower the casualty numbers for the tornado: 24 killed, 7 of whom were children. It's still a tragedy, of course, but it's good to hear that there were fewer lost than originally supposed.

News story

What's going on with all of this severe weather? Is this normal? I can't even watch the news, it is so upsetting. I don't know, it seems like it gets worse and worse and happens more often

AS far as Tornado's go, we are actually below the average this year.

That's terrible but I believe it. I know at autozone they use to have a weekly report on how many customers each person helped and that effected your raises. I was always on the bottom because my main jobs were to do planograms and put up truck before I became the commercial sales manager.

Johnny Cash it is!!!!!!

I'm headed to the porch. Your all welcome to come join me.

Hello everyone.
I walked the dogs this morning after the girls left for school and then I ran to the supermarket for a few things. I am back home now and have started my chores. Just taking a coffee break.
It is going to be warm and sunny today, with a high of 75 and a chance of a thunderstorm later. My daugher has an appointment to have her haircut after school. And later this evening I have a mandatory prom meeting to go to at the high school.
I spoke with my father this morning and he is doing well. He went out for a walk today. He had to use a cane, but said he did good. He is making progress.
I hope everyone has a wonderful day!!!
great that your dads recovery is going well, thanks for the update.
Enjoy your evening!

My boss just came to me and asked me if I wanted to go to an outdoor seminar (under a tent) at a place called Andy Nelson's from 3-5 on the 29th. Hmmmm, that's a tough question; let me get this straight, free pit beef, turkey, ham, barbecue, corn bread, sides, etc... while being paid/ on the clock, on a Wednesday afternoon, hmmmmm decisions, decisions, decisions....
Well duhhhhhh!!!!! OH YES!!!! Where do I sign????

Hmmmm, I forgot to ask "what's the catch?" :-? or maybe, "what does he want????":o

are you sure now?

it is good to at least know what is wrong, this can be fixed. A friends daughter has this, repaired about 6 years ago and you would never know now anything was ever wrong.
Will keep her in my prayers.
