Good evening folks. I see there is still no baby news. Fitting that she may be born on the same day the conversation is all about "blossoms." :)

I've heard Carl is throwing one crazy baby shower tomorrow night!

Friends I am very excited! We had teacher's night at our local McDonalds to raise money for my wife's and my kids' school. Long story short, we saw one if my son's friends from class and he hung out with us. His mom had dropped him off (!) although he did have a plan to ride home with a another mom who was there. Poor guy only had a dollar but some folks made sure he got something to eat.

My son is very excited because he is going to act as an agent of Santa Claus and find out what sort of things this boy likes. Then Santa is going to drop some things off some night as Christmas approaches! My kids are so excited and it is great to see them carrying in the spirit of Saint Nick!

Good Morning!

Everything has worked out regarding DH and his new position afterall. Feels good to know where things are at finally! He also managed to fix the car and it is running. I think there is still one minor thing but that shoud be ok.

It's a beautiful morning here. It has that sort of orange light cast through the greyness that you only see in autumn. I'm going to walk my son to school and take my little one for a walk through the park. I'll see you all later.

Have a good day!

I'm so glad everything is working out with DH's job and that he got the car fixed! I hope you have an even better rest-of-the-week, Festive!!!

Good afternoon! Thanks, Im so tired... zzzzzz....
I'm home with my son. He have an ear infection, poor thing.
We have been up every night the last four nights to give him painkillers and meds..
Hope things are going better soon!!

How are you today Seawaters?

Poor little guy! I hope he is better soon, Solice! {{{HUGS}}}
How did the open house go?

Good morning MMC.
I haven't been feeling well the past couple of days. My headaches/migraines have been just awful. And to top it off the kids have been sick. I had two of them at the doctor yesterday, the other is going today.
I got a call last night from the mother of the little girl I was going to start watching today. Her grandmother has volunteered to put her on the bus on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, so they will not be needing me. The mother promised me that if anything changes I will be the first one she calls. To be honest with you, I am almost relieved because I haven't been feeling well lately. Some days I barely have the energy to get through the day and take care of my own family.
I will be heading out soon, the dogs have a groomer appointment in a little while. I have a few errands to run while Molly and Maggie are at the groomer, including a trip to the supermarket. Then back home for chores. I also need to start a big pot of chicken soup for dinner.
I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!

I hope you and your daughters are better soon, HmG!

Deffenm, after reading your post, I ordered Night Circus and then saw a review of Montana 1948 and ordered that also. (For some reason, Montana 1948 showed up as a "Customers who bought this item [Night Circus] also bought...). I think I am set for something to read!

I just bought that book a few weeks ago! Night Circus, if it is the book I think it is, is one I am interested in reading. I'm going to the library tomorrow, so I will have to see if they have a copy. Thank you for the reminder!

May I make an interjection? Have any of you read the sequel to The Shining? The title is Doctor Sleep:
Doctor Sleep The Long-Awaited Sequel to The Shining
spacer2x2.gif
Dan Torrance -- all grown up, yet still haunted by his childhood stay at the Overlook Hotel -- now uses his telekinetic "Shining" powers to aid the ill and dying. But when Dan befriends a twelve year old girl with abilities even stronger than his own, the duo become targets of the True Knot, a cult of RV-driving, polyester-clad immortals who survive by torturing "Shining" children to death. The long wait for Dan's story fulfills its promise, a suspenseful, supernatural odyssey bearing the heartfelt human drama of Stephen King's finest work.

The title did not have me thinking it would be a sequel. Not sure I would read this book - kids being tortured is rather bothersome to me. If you read it, let me know what you think!

That is great to hear about your kids!!! I wouldn't expect anything less when they have parents like you though!!

Meceka - I just ordered the Chipotle Seasoning! I picked tomatoes tonight (and a lot of them) - I am making juice now!

I hope you like it! This is what I made with the sauce. No measurements noted as I eyeballed it. If you have ever made Hamburger Helper, I was going for something along those lines, but so much better tasting:

Pint or so of sauce
Cooked chicken, diced
2/3 box of Meijer multicolored rotini
Enough water to cover
Bring to boil, cover and turn down heat, cook until noodles are al dente.
In the last couple of minutes, add a few ounces of cream cheese. When melted, stir in.
Let sit a few minutes so sauce will thicken.

It was good, but rich as added too much cream cheese. It takes a bit for the sauce to thicken, too.

I'm getting tired of tomatoes - lol. Come winter I know I will appreciate the work I am doing now. Are yours almost done? I have a bushel or so of green tomatoes ripening on top of my freezer and there are still a lot outside!
