I realized today that Saturday starts our Halloween festivities that will run for just under a week! Saturday night we will go to a town Halloween event we go to each year. Then Sunday night is a church carnival. That Tuesday is a school carnival and thenThursday is the big day! Then Friday November 1st is my official start to the Christmas season!!!! It's so close!

They are saying that we might see an inch or two overnight wednesday but it melt before the end of the day thursday.

WOW! Send it our way when you're done with it! Ha ha!!

Good evening everyone! I hope you all had a good Monday! :] Mine was much better than I had expected. Usually Monday is not very productive day but this time it really was. I finished my first university assignment! Yay! ^^ Also, my former landlord messaged me inviting for a coffee and a chat. How sweet is that? We got along very well when I was renting a room at her house but I appreciate the fact that we still keep in touch even though I moved out in June.

Enjoy the rest of your day guys! Best wishes!

I am having a great Monday, so far. Had a friend over for tea this morning, got some shopping done, made a chocolate lasagna (thanks Seawaters for the recipe!) the kitchen is almost clean again.
Glad yours was better than you thought it would be.

Good afternoon everyone!

Another weekend has passed and we're on to the final full week of October. In Canada's capital, the leaves have changed and mostly fallen. Temperatures are also falling. Highs into the upper 40s/single digits. While some of you are enjoying snow, we're enjoying overcast and a some light drizzle. Not great, but it could be worse.

I didn't have an opportunity to do some Christmas searching this weekend. The only things that I saw were in the grocery store. Perhaps I can make it out to the mall sometime this week. If not, I think the weekend is a must!

I hope everyone is getting their week off on the right foot. Have a great Monday!
we are having the same weather as you here, actually got dark enough to put on the lights a couple of times.

Happy Monday y'all. Back at work after a 4 day weekend. Like some of you have posted, we have great weather coming up. Starting Wednesday we are looking at highs in mid 50s and low in upper 20's/low 30's. Wish it would snow but I'll take what I can get.

We had a little excitement over the weekend. On the side of the state road below our house, some hunters had a bear treed. They were ready to shoot when some tourist driving by saw it and stopped. The hunters couldn't shoot with all the people around and the tourist were arguing with the hunters and refusing to leave. It got a little heated but the hunters finally gave up. The bear was gone the next morning.

Bitter/sweet weekend coming up. Friday we are taking our son for another college visit. These are tough on me. I keep a lump in my throat the whole time. Saturday the men and sons from our church are camping at Cades Cove in the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. It will be chilly and I am looking forward to sitting by the campfire and enjoying a nice cigar, (I only get to smoke a couple a year). Sunday the ladies drive over and we will have worship service in the park. It will help cheer me up after the college visit.

Have a blessed day everyone.

Most folks have their own ideas about hunting, but it's dangerous for non-hunters to inject themselves in between an armed hunter and a cornered bear. As a hunter myself, I rely on the fact that the DNR sets seasons and yearly limits to control populations and limit starvation and disease. Even though I like to hunt, I don't know if I could shoot a bear, just because we always look forward to seeing them in the mountains.

I hope you enjoy the trip to Cades Cove. I'm glad the parks re-opened in time for you! Enjoy that stogie!

you are a busy guy! When is her fist production of the play going to be?
Well done Jacob, have fun with the guitar.
Elizabeth's first night is Friday November 22, then Saturday & Sunday. Another busy weekend!

Good evening!
What a long day. We were out all morning for the cancer walk. It took longer than I thought it would but we enjoyed every minute of it. It was a beautiful day, breezy and cool. We walked the boardwalk most of the time and had a nice view of the ocean.

I was exhausted by the end of the walk and it made me realize that I need to be in better shape. I'm going to join a gym tomorrow and start exercising. I really don't like to exercise so it should be interesting!
I had a few errands to run after the walk and lots of chores to do around the house. My dryer still isn't working so I decided to take some laundry to my parents house. I don't want to fall too behind on it. The dryer should be fixed by tomorrow. I made spaghetti and meatballs for dinner and I'm finally able to relax. I'm going to try and read for a little while without falling asleep!

Congratulations on finishing the walk for a most worthy cause!

I've missed y'all this weekend. My son and his friends had a great time on that ghost hunt yesterday. I hope all of you had a great weekend. Goodnight!

What a gorgeous house!

Last night, we attended a dinner in honor of the Elks State President. Dinner was so good. The President got up to give some after-dinner comments and began a speech talking about a person in our District. I was listening and he said this person was initiated into the Elks in 2003 and immediately was elected Leading Knight and served as Exalted Ruler in 2004. George and I were trying to think who that was. He leaned over and said that almost sounds like you, but not quite. Then the State President went on to say, “She served as Piggy Bank Chairman and then later as Publicity Chairman before becoming Piggy Bank Chairman again. She spearheaded a cookbook project to raise money for the Piggy Bank Project that netted over two thousand dollars to help kids with special needs. Her 22-year -old daughter Tiffany suffered a stroke as she was giving birth, and this Elk’s granddaughter was born with cerebral palsy. This Elk has carried on Elkdom, even in the face of her battle with cancer.” He said so many other nice things, but I was crying so much, that I don’t remember all the nice words. I was completely taken by surprise, and was called up to the stage to receive a special pin that is only given to 19 people in California and Hawaii. I also received a framed commendation. It was almost overwhelming! I am still speechless, believe it or not!!!

Oh my, Seawaters, this is amazing! Congratulations to you, my friend - a well-deserved honor! I am so very happy for you!!

Good Merry Monday Morning everybody! How are you all doing? I hope everyone is doing good.

My son is doing good and back to school, I am just glad it is all over and he is fine.

It's been a hectic couple of weeks . It was my 2nd son's birthday last Monday , I can't believe he is 2!! As Mr Festive was off last week we also managed to get some decorating done. We have repainted and put up new wallpaper. We did it at nights after the children went to bed. It was good to have the distraction and the new colours have really lifted our spirits. It was one of those moments when you step back, breathe in and go ''ahhhhhhh'' . Change can be good.

I have missed you all, I have been meaning to pop in quickly but the days and nights have been so full with different things.

Have a wonderful start to the week everyone!
Have I missed anything big??

Welcome back, Festive - we missed you! I'm so glad your son is better! Happy Birthday to your 2 year-old! I'm glad you were able to get your redecorating in and that it is cheering to you!

I have some news!
We just bought a house!!!

And we have to move in by December 1st!
So I can't start Christmas in November as usual this year....

The house we are moving into is outside the City, on the countryside with view to the mountains, woods and fjord
(but just ten minutes away from here)

We are so happy! :-D

Congratulations on the new house, Solice!

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

It was a busy weekend with Elizabeth's Nutcracker practice Saturday and Sunday afternoons, and Jacob's community service work with the Junior Chamber of Commerce Auction. Everyone in his high school has to earn a certain number of hours of community service in order to go on to the next grade.

While he was there, he bid on a silent auction for a very nice guitar and won! He got it for nearly $600 off retail! What a lucky find.

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

Congratulations to Jacob on his winning bid!

Good afternoon, MMC!

A very grey and blustery day out. I am in for the night - research on tap for the store will keep me busy.

Be MERRY!
