Oh, believe me she knows it. cheesy
Hey, It's Friday evening....Let the weekend commence!!!
I just got in from picking Victoria up from school and then I went up to pick up my pickup truck from the mechanic. I was driving home last week and I lost my breaks at an intersection (brake line burst). Luckily, I was able to downshift and use the emergency brake to stop the truck. I drove another three miles that way and coasted it into the shop without hitting any traffic lights along the way (someone was looking out for me)!
The mechanic said that they had to replace the entire brake line from the master cylinder to the rear of the truck (rotted), replace both wheel cylinders and the rear brake hoses. After everything was said and done, it cost me around $450.00 dollars. I don't know, I guess that was ok with labor and all, at least I got the truck back and I have brakes now!
I guess tonight may be a movie night tonight for me and vicki, since the wife and son are working tonight....
Good evening,
Well, it looks like my doctor has released me to work on Monday, I was getting use to this being home stuff. I had to run out to his office for the third time in 3 days for all the "new" paperwork that suddenly comes up everyday I have to have filled out.
TGIF, my Christmas friends!
What a great post from Made, and what a wonderful way to start our march to the beginning of the most wonderful season of all!
It's pretty chilly here in south GA. It was in the low 40's at daylight, but then the wind started blowing...whew! I have another pecan limb down; it obviously fell last night, and barely missed the house. Great. Gotta fire-up the chainsaw again.
I hope to do some hunting this weekend. It sure is nice weather for that!
Y'all have a great day! cheesy

I just realized that today is my anniversary here! It has been 6 years since I joined this community of Christmas lovers!
Look what we woke up to this morning !

I couldn't really explain it but for some reason I just liked it here. The people all seemed to be nice and cared for each other. There was no fighting, no arguing, no complaining. It was just a bunch of people who loved Christmas like me.
Your Special Post was incredibly touching, friend. We are always here for you! I quoted this portion of your post because it is the reason that makes MMC so special to me! We all may have our differing opinions, but we manage to work alongside and support each other MMC is truly a magical place all year long... Christmas lives in all our hearts and I think that is what brings us so close together.
What an incredible way to open the Special Posts as the Christmas Season nears. Thank you for sharing, made! Looking forward to celebrating the Season with you - and everyone else, of course - in a few short days!
nice you can go back to work again!Good evening,
Well, it looks like my doctor has released me to work on Monday, I was getting use to this being home stuff. I had to run out to his office for the third time in 3 days for all the "new" paperwork that suddenly comes up everyday I have to have filled out.
I swear the stores out here are listening to all the complaining about Christmas stuff being out "too early" I went to 3 stores today and none were even halfway done setting up their Christmas merchandise. It is the second week of November for crying out loud!!!!
I also went to Blockbuster Video, since I heard they are closing for good, I was an assistant store manager there for 3.5 years, met my wife while working there, but I didn't leave under the best of circumstances. I felt I was being forced out because my district manager was upset that I was looking for a better paying job, she started spreading rumors and lies about me around the district. When I found out from my store manager, who was an usher at my wedding, I was just as unprofessional as she was, I got hired at my current job and basically told them I would work the last few days of my schedule, no two week notice, for that week and leave them. Which were their busiest days of the year. So I got the last laugh against her, she was very angry with me, she confronted me. Asked me if I had anything to say to her, and my response was: "Not to you." I turned my back and walked away. That was the first, last, and only time I acted that unprofessional at a job.
I am very sad for the current employees there, losing their jobs right before the holidays.
I hope you all have had a great Friday thus far.
I know what you mean, I see more and more stuff going up too. Wishing it was more! I saw a balcony at my moms apartment building all lit up with Christmas lights, it looked great!I had to post this, this evening, on my way back to the house, I saw this guy up on his roof, putting up Christmas lights. He had also started putting up his Blowmolds on this front yard as well.
Between that and getting the Kirklands Christmas catalog in the mail today, It's really getting me excited and antsy to start decorating! I'm about ready to start playing Christmas music and start decorating the tree...:sparkle:
I wondered that tooI'm glad that thing didn't come down on the house... I have to ask you, but when you burn pecan limbs, do they give off a nice smell like cherry or apple woods? I've never used that kind of wood before and I'm just curious~
ok, how many of you rearrange your room this time of year just so the Christmas tree will have a really good spot to stand?
those moments are so special! What a nice peaceful night around here. We (vicki and I) were planning to watch movies tonight and she was downstairs with me for a bit and then I couldn't find her. I went upstairs and there she was, all curled up in her bed sound asleep...She was telling me on our way home today that she was exhausted from all the tests, studying and essays that she has had to do over the past couple of weeks, getting very little sleep. She said she was glad to come home and rest in her own bed....
I tucked her in, kissed her forehead, pulled the blinds closed and shut her door, just like I used to when she was still a little girl (made me feel good)!
So, I,m sitting here listening to Kringle Radio, writing some checks and getting ready to go downstairs and watch the kick-off of Battlestar Galacatica at 9 pm on the BBC channel!
It's me, the TV and some Hickory Farms smoked gouda cheese tonight~
LOL, my son used to complain about it, but this year he is actually making suggestions on how to set up the room!Oh I do! Lisa has had me move that thing in so many different locations around the house, that if it had an odometer on it, with all those miles, it would be time for an oil change and 4 new tires.....LOL!!!!!
