I started reading and replying earlier but I was still in bed and ended up falling back asleep.

after I posted that my computer had a fit and would not let this site come up anymore. My daughter did an update and hopefully it will stay working now. I am getting a new one next year, this one just needs to hang on until then!

Good Morning MMC!!!!!! It's going to be a chilly one with a high of 36 today. My main goal today is to try and get some of my prep work done for Thanksgiving. I want to get the eggs boiled, celery and onion chopped, and I might even go ahead and make up my macaroni salad. I have to babysit all day tomorrow, so the more I can get done today, the better. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sounds like a great way to spend the day!
I have my shopping done, picked up the last of the candy for the gingerbread house. Catching up here while having a bit of lunch.

Good Morning, Under-A-Month-Away Friends.

Yes, the morning numbers tell the frightening tale:
Days to Thanksgiving: 2 (DAY AFTER TOMORROW!)
Days to Christmas Day: 29 (UNDER A MONTH, INDEED!)
(High gear now, Guys! High gear!)

We are definitely entrenched in a winter-like cold pattern here, now.
Rain likely today and tomorrow as well.
(At least Thanksgiving day is supposed to be clear.)
Right now, we show 39 degrees on our temperature recorder.

And get yourself ready for a slam-bang Thanksgiving open house at the 'Pines tomorrow evening!

I can't believe we are under a month away. As soon as Thanksgiving is over I will concentrate on my Christmas shopping again!

they are even talking about that nasty weather on our news this morning, not looking good for those who hope to travel on the holiday. I hope it does not effect the parade to much.

Definitely not the kind of weather people want for the busiest travel day of the year!!!

For the Macy's parade in NYC, AccuWeather says "Mostly sunny, windy and much colder"---winds at 22 mph with gusts up to 39 mph. That could possibly ground some of the big balloons. It'll be awfully cold for the majorettes. I hope the storm doesn't keep any of the bands from getting there. They work so hard to raise money to get to NYC to have their big moment in the parade.

I was watching a story about this on the news earlier, the wind speeds are going to be cutting it close. We'll see what happens.

It just makes you wonder how well some of these places check out their Santa's before hand.

Hope you can get your turkey today so you don't have to go out in that tomorrow!!! Stay safe!!!!

Well after witnessing one Santa's appalling actions on QVC during Christmas in July, is anyone really surprised by this?

I picked up my ham from the butcher yesterday & oh my does it look & smell yummy! I'm going to stick it in the oven on my lunch today! Can't wait to smell the house when I get home after work!!! Enjoy your day! I hope you are able to pick up your turkey today. Staying home tomorrow to prep sounds like a great plan! I really wish I had tomorrow off... ah well! I'll git 'r done!

Oh now I want a ham! I will probably make one for Christmas!

These stories are so sad.
A couple of teenagers were arrested here last week for following a UPS truck around the neighborhood and stealing packages off peoples doorsteps after they were delivered. Idiots!

I wish I knew!!!!! My sister still hasn't made up her mind!!! My BIL works to 4:30 so can't decide if we are going to try have it already when he gets his lunch so he can run home and eat then or wait and do dinner after he gets off.

How nice that you are OFF WORK!!! YAY!!! Will you come & clean my house? I will do all the cooking if you will clean... Ha ha! Enjoy your time off! I wish all states outlawed stores from being open on Thanksgiving!!! (actually I wish store owners/managers had enough common sense/compassion to allow their employees to be off for Thanksgiving!!!)

There was a story on the news here this morning about a pizza hut manager who was fired for refusing to open his store on Thanksgiving.

I'm so disappointed!!!!! Apparently it was on air again and I missed it!!!!!! They changed the video on their website to the new presentation too and it wasn't nearly as funny as the Christmas in July one!!!!!!

Got some shopping done this evening. Still need a few gift cards. Mr. sends lots of small gifts to friends in other parts of the country, and he's already got those wrapped and ready to go to the post office. I have to get mine wrapped and packed this weekend. We like to mail early!

I like to mail early, too, but never seem to get things done in time! :wink:

The muffins were spicy! I used a parmesan and red pepper blend in them and that and the granulated garlic gave them a nice kick. Thank you for the well wishes for Palmer !!!

When you head back to MI, drive safe! The roads were very icy this morning - all the local schools cancelled for the day. The weather forecasts for the next few days are the same as last night/this morning so I expect more icy roads.

The Lions really need to pick up their game, esp. since I have friends going. cheesy

Work on bridge is coming along, someone ate a bunch of the candy for the roof! so I had to change how I was going to do it.
My people still have no hair or hats so I better dress them before they get to cold out on the ice.
Almost supper time so I think I better come up with something.
