Good afternoon everyone!
Happy 'Pines Day! Happy Christmas Season! Happy Thanksgiving Eve to all those celebrating tomorrow in the US. I'm sure you're all excited to gather around and eat some delicious food! The festivities will be wonderful.
I'm home again. It's a little disappointing to not receive a call today, but it was expected. We were hit with about 15-20cm of heavy snow last night. All busses for school boards in the area were cancelled. Of course, there isn't a need for a supply teacher if the busses are cancelled! Oh well... For the second day in a row, I have been hanging out with a new member of the apartment... Pauli, the cat! Pauli is the cat of our future roommate Cassie, who is a really close friend of ours. Cassie is not moving in until sometime in December. She's currently back in her hometown spending time with her mom, who only has a few days/weeks remaining after her cancer came back for the third time. It's too bad, but we can only hope they're both strong and fight their battles as best as they can. It will be tough, but Kim and I are hopeful that we can still make this a joyous season for Cassie.
In regards to today, I managed to get out for an hour or so and visit the Rideau Centre. I took some photos, which I will post momentarily in the Blossoms Thread. I think there are still a few places I need to visit and photograph. The most disappointing part of the Rideau Centre this year is that there is only one main store remaining. Nordstrom's, which took over the lease of Sears, is not opening until mid 2014. Therefore, aside from the mall decorations and busy displays inside stores within the mall, The Bay is the only option to have plenty of space dedicated to Christmas. And, aside from a few trees and garland here and there, The Bay is quite disappointing. Obviously, they have their Christmas Street, which photographed earlier in the year, but nothing else. I photographed a few things in Christmas Street again, too. I think they changed a few things... Hope you enjoy.
Anyway, that was a long post. I should get to uploading those photos. Have a great Wednesday everyone! Carl certainly has done a great job going from Christmas to Thanksgiving. I'm sure he's excited to return it to Christmas shortly after, too! Although he gave me an awkward look when I came in today, he said there were no hard feelings about getting my days wrong. I really thought yesterday was Wednesday! I guess I'm al wrapped up in the Christmas Season... Aren't we all!? Enjoy your celebrations. Merry Christmas!
