Morning! Last day of 2013!
Heads up!
"Happy New Year, Charlie Brown" is on ABC right now.
Followed by "Rudolph's Shiny New Year"
JingleBellJames: Thanks for sharing all of your photos! Very nice!
Thank you, that means a lot!
I can never decorate or un-decorate a tree without a few sentimental tears.
We ended up watching "Holiday Inn" tonight instead of Charlie Brown. We did record good ol' Chuck though. One more day of the year left to go, I am really starting to fight the onset of PCBs, knowing decorations, commercials, music will be disappearing soon. New Year's Day is always one of the most depressing days of the year to me. I wish I didn't feel that way every year, and every year I mope around.
I will leave you tonight with something cheerful, a picture I took of the tree in the red room on Christmas Eve. I just love the way the sun lit up the room.

Good night, everyone.
I place the cat food out in front of the patio during the winter so I can keep tabs on if the cats need any more and who is eating. Today I saw chickadees, blue jays, a couple of birds I do not recognize and a huge opossum munching away at the leftovers. There is seed in the bird feeder but the birds prefer Cat Chow. I was wondering why the food was going down so fast.
I am starting to feel the cold - time to curl up and read or work on the afghan or scarf.
Be safe, warm and MERRY!!
I found these little lights and sat them on the cistern...![]()
Well it's New Years Eve here already. What are peoples plans for the evening? I'll be spending it at home with the fiance and bubs in front of the box with a few drinks. Listen to some music and watch the fireworks.
This is how I wrapped my presents this year. It's not even half of them and they're unfinished. I added mini candy canes to them aswell

Good evening, MMC!!
Hope you're all having a relaxing night!
It was a busy day at work- Adi & I are going to watch a movie tonight, and enjoy a fire & the tree. I'll be sad taking it down in a few days.
Looking forward to the day off tomorrow!
Thinking of you all~
((Hugs))

I know I can ask your advice without getting raised eyebrows... I thought about keeping a simple address book in my bag but I like to put everything in my phone; does anyone know of a free app I can get from google play store that will help me keep a list of all my Christmas movies? I just need something simple so I can do a quick check when buying dvds. I've downloaded some that continually have popups and I'm getting frustrated. I used to use notes in an iphone3 but it went kaput and when fixed all the data was lost. Now I have a Samsung galaxy s4. Any help appreciated...
it has been quite a year, through the good and the sad we have been here to support and encourage each other. I am grateful to be a part of it all.Good Final Day Morning, Dear Friends.
It has come down to this.
The last day of the year and the last day of this thread.
Permanent lock-down will occur at midnight tonight.
And what a run it has been!
We not only bettered last year's record, we shattered it!
What will 2014 be like?
Well, if all the past years can be our guide, it will surely be another record-setter!
Thanks ever so much for your support this year in both this thread and the Blossoms thread (which also set a new record, by the way!)
Here's to the new year and to counting on you and with you in 2014!

just under 18 hours here to the new year!
Yipe ... Now the forecasted low for Friday night is -10F! The lowest I've personally seen is -12.
Wow.... well that was disappointing. We went to Munn Park like every year, but this time around they pulled the either CD, mp3 or satellite they were using and instead had a piped in radio station that was playing.... smooth jazz love songs. Phil Collins, Bonnie Rait, Neil Young and the like. Kinda made you wanna hang yourself with a string of lights.
Then they took out about 60% of the lights and displays. The wrapped oak and maple trees covered in white lights - gone. Displays around the lake - gone. Displays around the fountain - gone.
Then the little mom n pop ice cream shop where we always got hot cocoa every year - evidently some time in the last three weeks went out of business.
Noah and I just stood there dumbfounded. I was speechless and heart broken. :-( We left early.
Bud, God love him, tried so hard to make it fun none the less, but it was just sad.

What kind of list type function are you looking for?
For shopping I use Out of Milk. It allows me to create numerous individual lists, has a widget you can run that shows you the list in scrollable format without having to open the app and you can tap the item in question when you’ve got it. A line appears through it and it drops down to the bottom of the list. I absolutely love this app.
I have also used Groceries in the past. it was great but OoM allowed me to sync with local store ads and coupons and such. Both also allow other users to sync with you so say your spouse is at the store and wonders what's needed at home - open the app on their phone to your list and there it is.
I have a Samsung galaxy note 2 and really love the built in S Note myself. I make tons of those.
