Christmas Countdown - 2014

Welcome back! I almost went up to the mountains last week, but the idea fell through. So far, we're planning a trip in mid-February.

Hope you get to come up. Hopefully you will see some snow.

So happy you had good news! I've had a few cysts, and they are easy to deal with, but they DO give you some anxiety until you find out what they are.

Just a quick word here but I had asked for prayer and/or good vibes sent my way for my health. I am happy to say I am in good shape! It was a cyst that we were concerned about and it is benign!

I never want to be an alarmist or pessimistic and was going to wait for prayers IF I got bad news but figured that is a little too late to be asking for prayers. I needed them ahead of time in hopes it all turned out good! It is all good so thank you for prayers and good thoughts sent my way!

I just saw on the AccuWeather website that the Northern Lights are supposed to be visible in parts of North America tonight ... possibly as far south as where I am! Click on the thumbnail for a map.

(How do you get the thumbnail image to show full size in your post? I think I've seen that done ...)

Good afternoon all. This is my first post on the new countdown. The countdown will probably not be as fun for me this year. Our son graduates high school in June and will go off to college in August so I will be wishing time passes slowly.

Our family had a good Christmas but it was not the same without mom. Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts during this time.

I have enjoyed the cold weather the last few days. Wish we would have gotten more snow but I will take our 5 inches. It was -6 when I left for work yesterday and 8 today. Sorry to say it will be in the low 50s by this weekend. Hopefully we have some more snow and cold weather before this winter is over.

Well its lunch break so while I munch on my burger I have time to get online. It's snowing!!! We may get up to 4 or 5 inches by tomorrow night, then more is on the way on the weekend too! This is our first snow of the year so I am loving seein it fall out my window. I hope everyone is shoveling out and thawing out of the polar vortex! Other than that not much more to report here....I am keeping up my Christmas décor ar home at least through the end of the month I just can't bear to take any down while the snow is on the ground! Well have a great rest of the day folks I will talk to you more tonight!

Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes for my daughter with her wrist.

They ended up having to put her in a cast because they think she fractured her growth plate. She has to keep it on for 2 weeks then they will re-xray and if it shows that it is healing they know it is def the growth plate is fractured. They will cast her again for another 3 weeks.

At least it is a waterproof cast and she picked neon green.

It has been so cold her in CT..only around 18 today but will warm up to high 40's by the weekend. Crazy Weather!!

I just got in from the supermarket a little while ago. I forgot to bring my gloves and boy was that painful! I am warming up with a cup of coffee right now but I do need to get moving soon, I have some chores to do. My youngest is home from school, she wasn't feeling well. She drove all the way there and then turned around and came back home. I told her to go back to bed, I'll see how she feels when she wakes up. I'm hoping I don't end up in the doctors office this afternoon. We have been there way too much lately!

Good morning. My plan was to get caught up on here today, but you all have been BUSY!!!! :lol: I will try, but this darn work thing...



It was a whopping 6º this morning. Heat wave!!! HA! I hope you are all staying warm 'n toasty!! I feel freezing in the office today - worse than yesterday. Hmmmm! Maybe I'm chilled to the bone & can't warm up!? Too many days of COLD! We are supposed to be up to 40º with rain on Saturday. Bye bye snow! BUT we have a chance of flurries today & snow tomorrow, so I'll enjoy!!



I still have my Christmas up. Thinking about taking it down tonight - or maybe not! Not ready!

Good morning,



It's Wednesday, my late day, but I am only scheduled til 8pm due to the hours being cut. I really, really, really don't want to go. I have got such a stomachache from not wanting to go in today.

Just relaxing watching "Invasion of the Christmas Lights" not one of my favorites but I am trying get through my DVR before I erase some of the ones I won't save.



My car had trouble starting this morning, I thought I was going to have to walk the boys to school. I was able to start it right before we had to walk.

I hope you're all keeping as warm and cozy as possible! Hang in there for a few more days!



It's cold here today, but not like most of you are getting. It's 18*F, going for a high of 19*F today and a low of 14*F tonight. Like some of you, we're supposed to get into the 50s this weekend.



A bit chilly at the office today. I think the cold air is creeping in, because I can feel a chill especially around my feet and legs. Earlier a fan was blowing constantly and it was driving me nuts. It wasn't particularly cold air, but it just ... wouldn't ... stop! I was wearing a hoodie over my sweater to keep off the draft.



Last night was a bit hectic, but nice. We made our airline and hotel reservations for our vacation in June. (Yes, we plan ahead!) To calm down afterward I worked on a digital file I made of one of my Christmas LPs, splitting it into the individual songs and filling in the MP3 tags. It sounds very nice! I'm looking forward to doing more of these throughout the year and re-discovering Christmas music in my collection that I haven't heard in a long time.

Good Afternoon everyone!! Haven't even had a chance to catch up yet today. Spent all morning de-Christmasifying the house. GACK!!

Our weather is insane too. Last night at midnight I posted all the socks and blankets and chill in our bedroom - now 12 hours later, the AC is on. Nope, not kidding - Exhibit A:

I have taken down most everything with the exception of the little crystal decorations and such which reside in the curio cabinet and hutches during the rest of the year. Everything which goes in boxes elsewhere is down and put up. Now I'm moving on to steam cleaning.

This afternoon we have to go look at a new car. Not thrilled with the idea of car payments again, but it's necessary for Bud. Currently paying through the roof for a car rental while he tours. Hopefully this will be better.

Hope you're all doing incredibly well and yes I'm totally aware that most of you would gladly rather be running the AC than sliding on black ice or dealing with record lows. Didn't mean to complain about it... just love cooler weather.
