Christmas Countdown - 2014

I am a certified coffee fiend and a certifiable Christmas-nut, but I can't stand the taste of these Christmas blend coffees, of Pumpkin Spice Lattes. Blech!

Still, I always use my Christmas-themed "Life Is Good" coffee mug and see visions of sugarplums dance in my head! :smile:

I agree on the pumpkin spice blends.... right now it is pumpkin spice overkill on everything! But Starbucks Christmas blend (maybe it is an acquired taste) has been an obsession of mine for over a decade! Just something comforting about Starbucks and Christmas, really wish I had my 2003 Starbucks tumbler still but it vanished somehow during moving a few years back. Thankfully I still have my 2009 one, that also was a very good Christmas that year and I am very careful not to lose or damage this one.

Losing your dad is tough. Mine died Sept 17. I called him every morning at 9:30 just to see how was doing and chat a little. I choke up every day missing him. Unlike my mom, dad's death was a shock. It's an odd feeling having lost both parents.

Good that you took some time to morn. We are praying for you and your family.

Good Morning everyone!! Hope everyone is having a great day! Sitting here enjoying coffee out of my 2009 Starbucks Christmas tumbler, really craving some Starbucks Christmas blend though, hopefully they will have it available soon!

A beautiful autumn morning here in Western Pa, trying to get the motivation to go out and take advantage of the nice weather to do some yardwork, I am probably going to regret saying this now a couple months down the road....but I would much rather be shoveling snow than having to mow the grass one more time this year!! :lol:

Good morning MMC! Happy Milestone Day! It's a dreary ol rainy day in Ohio! I had a bit of a sinus headache this morning, but nothing a little sinus med from the medicine cabinet here at work couldn't fix! I've got my coffee & a Christmas Apple candle burning. It's all good!

I already mentioned that our electrician friend was over last night - he installed all the outlets in the new room. Hubby got the trim around 2 of the 4 doors in the hallway off the kitchen. My in-laws were over getting information to book our trip to Cabo San Lucas ~ ya, we are going there with the in-laws in February! Hopefully it's all re-built by then from the hurricane! xx Should be interesting. We've never traveled together before for more than a night! LOL! I already miss my Gracie just thinking about it!! :smile:

Happy Milestone Day, MMC!!!!!! It's going to be an overcast, rainy, cool day here in central Indy. While I don't really want the rain, I'll take it over weather like CAH is having. Not a whole lot going on here today. Just need to do some cleaning and then my niece's are on fall break so I think my sister is bringing them in for a while. I'll also be helping my neighbor figure out how to use the Iphone his son sent him I'm sure. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like a fabulous vacation! I thought I was the only one that already missed my doggies even before I leave for a vacation! I try to take them when I can but some vacations don't allow it, cruise or train. You should witness the anxiety I have when I do have to leave them home, no fun! I calm down eventually and enjoy my time away. cheesy

CJ498, my husband and I stopped by at a Starbucks a few years ago right before going out to look at Christmas lights. They were really busy that evening but somehow we got into a conversation with the store manager, she came to our table and we chatted for awhile. She was asking about our evening and we were telling her our plans. Before we left she handed us a bag of Christmas Blend coffee for free and told us to have a nice evening!!! We were shocked and so thankful for the generous gift. That was the first time I tried that blend and it was very tasty! We promptly mailed her a Thank You card for her generosity.

Now I am ready to go buy a bag of it as soon as I can! =)

I'm back at work after taking off last week for the funeral. It was good to have days off after the service so I could just take some time to think about things and grieve. But I'm back in the office and trying to get back in my routine.

I do have a picture if my Ol' Pappy up by my computer now, so he's at work with me and keeping me company. It's a great pic of him with my son on his shoulders.

I bet it is gorgeous! I noticed the prices were a little steep, but there were a few that were a little more reasonable. Bummer about the wreath!

Well, I got the wreath for 40% off, and it looked like the sale price. I would've been burned if I'd paid full price for it! I got it for the wall next to my desk at the office. I've already gotten something to replace it! cheesy

The tree, on the other hand---I've actually been asked if it's real or artificial. I hang "scentcicles" in the branches to add the piney scent. I was willing to pay the price because I can't stand the look of department-store artificial trees. (Full disclosure: I did get a cheapie 3-footer from Michaels for the TV room. But our "main" tree in the front window has to look terrific!)

The weather here is unsettled---big gray clouds sweeping across the sky. (Goes with my mood; I've got stuff on my mind just now.) We're supposed to get thunderstorms later. Even though it was only 63F when I left this morning, it felt muggy enough to get a thunderstorm started.

Thinking of all of you and wishing you the best.

I like Pumpkin flavored coffee/latte every once in awhile - and I always have to try the Christmas flavors - just because! But I do like my plain ol Donut House coffee best! :grin:

It is hard to leave the furkids. Adrian & I usually travel separate (unless we are taking a vacation) for that reason. One of us is usually with Har. But not when we go to Door County. Thank God she is staying with my parents! She adores them. And Jazzie. But it will still be hard for the both of us to be apart. I'm already dreading it, that's the only time I've heard that she's cried, is when I leave her. The suitcases usually make her nervous =[
