There are 97 houses along the walking route in my neighborhood here in Raleigh.
As of this afternoon's walk, I'm pleased to report that 18 of them still have Christmas decorations up!

Keeping track of the decorations on my walk each year helps make January more tolerable.
(And sometimes February, too!)

Gabulldawg - I'm sorry to hear you will have to leave your family for 9 months. What a sacrifice! Thank you for your service! Stay safe!!!

Sugar - hope you all have fun today!!!

Ballcoach - always glad to see you whenever you can stop in!! I feel the same as you sometimes too! I don¡'t intend to not log on for days, but sometimes life, family, friends keep us hopping!!! Enjoy every minute!

Xmas - hope you are better soon!!! I have had the icks all week! I'm finally feeling better today!!!! Hope you are too!

HMG -prayers for Maggie! Hope they make her feel a lot better!! I'm glad Molly is doing good & so happy Benlty is bonkers. Hee hee!

Meceka - stay safe today! Nice that your bro brought you cookies & coffee!! We have that same weather. Wind is howling!! Hubby is out loafing. Crazy nut! I'm glad to be inside!

MerryCarey - your response to coach was right on! Nice!

Thanks sugar! Decision made!!!! We own 1/2 (down payment) of a soft coated wheaten terrier. HA! We can pick her up Feb. 25'ish. Sooooo excited!! I really hope Buster will hang around & be ok being a 2 dog family! Today is a good day for him - yesterday was not so good! Poor guy!

We have not agreed on a name yet - suggestions welcome! In the running are Lucy, Gracie, Sophie, Scarlett.
Less likely but still in the running Stella, Bella.
I have grown fond of Gladys "Gladdie" - hubby says NO! We will come up with something!

We go back in 2-3 weeks when the develop a personality to pick which female we want.

Puppies:

And when she gets bigger, she will look like this: (this is our lake neighbors 8 month old Wheaten she sent me a pic of this morning)

Congratulations Holiday! Thanks for sharing the pictures, they are just precious.
I will keep Buster in my prayers (((hugs)))

Congratulations on getting a new fur kid! Not knowing the personality of the puppy you are getting it is hard to come up with a possible name. Having a cat named Lucy Fur, I'd go with Lucy out of your possibilities. cheesy Cloudy and calm at the moment. Extremely cold here, too. Stay warm and safe! Buster is in my prayers, as are you, Holiday!

Thanks Meceka! Every SCWT we have ever met pretty much has the same personality. (Hopefully ours will too....) So choosing a name really seems pretty easy- though I could be wrong! Lol! But I am keeping a list & when we see her again in a few weeks, we'll come up with something!! Lucy is my sisters pick too! We shall see!!! Thanks for your vote!

Congratulations Holiday! Thanks for sharing the pictures, they are just precious.

Thanks so much HMG! They are precious! Keeping Maggie in my prayers too! And crazy Bentley & Molly!! :D

First, let me say I hope this finds everyone doing well. It has been so hectic here that there has been little time to slow down. But it's a good busy and I'm thankful that I have been.

I've got a confession to make and I hope you all don't think I'm being self-centered. I have not been reading everyone's posts. With a little one in the house, time is such as precious commodity that when I get it, I'm usually picking up, working, cleaning, cooking, etc. I've just been doing a lot of spot reading and it probably going to be that way most of the time. I say that because I don't know what's going on in everyone's life and I don't want to come across as a self-centered jerk.

I have no intentions of not coming here, but I've got to keep the main thing the main thing. Right now, the Little Bambina is the main thing. I know, I know, I didn't have to put this and I'm not trying to draw attention to myself, but I just want everyone to know why there hasn't been as much of me around.

Today, we are going to our first little birthday party. I'm really excited about it. I got the little girl a glove! Hey, we gotta start exposing the Little Bambina's teammates to the sport. We can't wait 6 or 7 years! Kidding...not about getting her the glove though!

After that, it's home to make some cheese dip and watch the games. I'm really excited about the Patriots and Broncos game...I played QB and I love the position. That is the position I coached when I was coaching, also. Those two are the ones you want to be like. Fundamentals are awesome, leadership, and determination to win like no other....

Anyways, I'm off. I will check back in this afternoon during the games. Good luck to the fans of all the teams...
that is what being a parent is all about! Keep up the good work

anyone know where my medium size leaf cutter is? I have cleaned out a cupboard and 3 drawers looking for it. I also got rid of a bunch of junk that I do not know why I was hanging on to !

I don't, sorry :( Hope you found it!! Sounds pretty.

3 of my cats would not show their faces, 2, Merlin & Sidney would be all over everybody. They just love people and dogs.

Aww, they all sound sweet!

I would love to have Harlowe meet a friendly cat, one that likes dogs. The only ones that she has seen in person are stray cats that used to walk our walls in the backyard (Vegas). They used to hiss at her, and she would bark at them, lol.

Hi, Virginia! Yes, I do love just about everything I put in the store. Some things are harder to part with than others. What a deal you found on the brooches! I have been collecting brooches since I was in 4th grade and received one for the Christmas exchange gift that year. It was a gold-toned seal - I loved it! My collection is huge now because I pick up what I like, too, not what is worth something (although sometimes I have found a good deal here and there). I haven't parted with any of them as of yet and I really don't think I will in the near future. As to toys, I rarely luck out and find something that is in great shape and in my price range. If I do find a good one, it doesn't last long in the store. Happy hunting!

So cool that you collect brooches! I would love to see them!

Okay, I've caught up on reading the posts and will try to get back to respond after the game.

Xmas, I thought you would like this-

There are Culver's around here, too. I went out to dinner at Applebee's with friends and we stopped at one for dessert - not bad!

They are delicious!!

There is a Culver's approximately 7 - 8 miles from Bronner's.

There you go buddy! Right up your alley!

That would be fun. Right now, I have a ham hock and bits of ham simmering in chicken broth for navy beans. We go out for dinner a lot because of having no kitchen, but we wanted to be home to watch the ball games today. We could have everyone bring his or her signature dish! I think that would be the world's best potluck!

Mmmm!!

We all completely understand, coach!

Hope you & your beautiful family are doing well~

I love that you got the little girl a glove! Happy Birthday to her!

I played fast pitch baseball (only girl on my team!) and then softball throughout grade school, and loved it. Great memories.

Enjoy the games today, friend.

Blessings & lots of love to you and yours~

Good afternoon,

Still feeling pretty yucky, just relaxing watching the Bruins vs Blackhawks game. Just like last springs Stanley Cup Final, it has been an exciting game. I plan on taking it easy today, I will go through the ads in the Sunday paper, but it is not the same without the Christmas ads. But they will start advertising for Christmas decorations in the coupon sections or Parade magazine soon. A number of years ago I ordered a Santa Claus from Thomas Kinkade in January of 2004 I believe.

(it is the one on the lower shelf on the right)

I think I may go take a nap soon.

Talk to you throughout the day.

Hope you rested well, friend~ Get well soon!

Love the Thomas Kinkade Santa!!

I was thinking the same thing, Made!!! Great minds....

Thank you, Seawaters!

Xmas365, I was making a cup of Nutcracker Sweet black tea and found an interesting item on the box. Check out this site!

That is awesome, Meceka!!

Holy Smoke! Ive been so busy I missed our first milestone. I mean I didn't miss it I missed posting about it. And already over 5000 posts! Got all my honey dos done yesterday. So we are just going to relax and watch the championship games. Have a Great Day MMC!

Hey Slim! Enjoy the games today! Happy Milestone!

Good afternoon, MMC!

Right in the middle of a dream about a football-sized spider with hairy legs that was thisclose to my face, I woke up. Palmer was sitting on the windowsill, looking angelic - me thinks the P-Cat definitely had something to do with that particular dream!

Arctic blast round two has arrived. It is very windy out! My brother brought me a coffee and some cookies this afternoon and told me there were white outs in the open areas. Here in the woods it doesn't look like much is happening - so glad I got the majority of my errands taken care of yesterday! What didn't get done I can do later in the week.

Stay warm and safe!

Ahhh!! Creepy dream!

How sweet of your brother to drop by with goodies

Stay safe & warm! Hugs to you, Palmer, Shaggy, and the rest of your fur loves!

xx

Watching the Pats and Broncos. Managed to get a little Xmas shopping done online between snaps. Dual charging docks for both the boys, for their iPhones and iPads. And a Williams and Sonoma blue tooth speaker for the wife's kitchen

Nice finds, Slim!!

Great finds my friend!!! FUN!!! Hope you are both feeling better now!

Thanks, girlie!!
Adrian is still feeling a little icky, but doing much better!

How are you?

xx

On the jar, is the website: SugarplumJam.com but that site doesn't "work." On the following page, about 3/4 of the way down, you can see what the jars look like.

Yay!! Congratulations, Holiday!!!! They look so precious <3

I love the names Stella & Scarlett! But they are all so sweet, I say narrow it down to a few, and like Meceka said, when you pick out the baby & feel her personality, you'll know

Continued thoughts & prayers for you & Buster!

((Hugs))

So you can imagine, we are pretty darn excited. Still gives me a belly ache thinking about 1) having to say goodbye to Buster OR (hopefully) #2) how Buster will deal with a pup in the house. Regardless, SCWT are hard to find & I can't imagine going for months without a dog in our house, so a decision had to be made. Hopefully we made the right one. Soooo excited! Yesterday I ordered a cage, toys, food/water bowl, etc on Amazon. I need to stop there otherwise everything will be done & I will have nothing left to do to prepare for puppy & then I'll go crazy waiting. Ha ha ha!

I'm off to read more posts!!!! Hope everyone is having a great Sunday!!!Sunny & super windy & COLD here!!!! Glad to be inside!!!

Stay warm, girl~

xx

Love Lucy Fur!! Cute & funny, love the play on words.
Adi wanted to name Har D.O.G. (pronounced Dee-Oh-Gee)! Haha!
