Christmas Countdown - 2014

50s..... man I am looking forward to that. I think we get to high 40s by Tues or Wed. This snow is insane. It's just piled so high from storm after storm. Shoveling seems like it's a daily chore now. This winter hasn't been fun.. at all! And I am a big snow lover!!!

On a happier note, I bougth candy canes at Walgreens yesterday! 15 cents for a dozen (90% off!!) Score!

Hope this winter lets up for you soon too!!! I know what you mean about this winter being no fun even when you love the snow!!! This year it has almost been like a job!!!

Well after that, I had to pull up our forcast! 57º next week Thursday & 55º next week Friday!!!! That will change.... :lol: But BRING IT ON!

LOL!!! It probably will change but I'm just hoping it stays above normal and that I can see if there is any pavement left under all of this ice that I call my street now!!!

Chico got good/bad news. Good news - I got to bring him home and they brought the swelling down. The swelling was causing him not to be able to lay down and he was up for over 24 hours and exhausted. He is finally laying down now and asleep! The bad news is his heart has enlarged more but as long as he still has a little spunk in him and can eat we will just take it one day at a time. He does have a fantastic appetite and so alert! I am happy about that. Keep the prayers coming that he continues to feel well!

I am sorry that I haven't had time to read your daily post, I am just having a very busy day but wanted to let you all know what is going on.

Continued prayers are on the way buddy. I'm glad they were able to help him some today.

Good afternoon,

It is a winter wonderland here!!!

Taking it easy while the snow is doing its thing. The only thing my wife is watching all these Dr. Phil type shows, I hate these things! She also made a crack cake, so I guess I can handle Dr. Phil for today.

The Saturn still has no "pulse" but I am not going to do anything while the snow is coming down so hard.

The headache I had yesterday is gone and I slept until nearly 9am this morning, it was much needed but I am still very congested.

I will be back throughout the day.

Good evening,

It was very busy at work tonight, but I am home so I can now forget about that place until Friday.

It is funny how I was talking about my older car this morning, I went to head to work and it is now dead. I had to call my wife and she came to pick me up, I dropped her and took the Equinox. We only live about 1/4 mile from where she works so we can survive on one car for a little while if the Saturn has really died. She tried to get it going when she got home, but there is no sign of life whatsoever. I will check the battery tomorrow or Friday, but the battery is barely a year old but with this freezing weather we have had I would not be surprised.
I am feeling yucky, I feel cold and cranky and I have had a pounding headache all day. It is about time to head to sleep, I hope I don't dream about the darn Saturn all night again. I wouldn't mind dreaming about the planet Saturn though. cheesy

Good Morning! THANK YOU for the anniversary wishes and for keeping us all in prayer through the extreme weather.

We made it through. I half expected to be whisked away like Dorothy and on my way to see the wizard this morning! Not much damage in our area but sadly can't say the same for others especially residents near the coast. Our trees are still in place and so is the fence! Mr Festive and I put up a new garden fence last summer all by ourselves. We weren't to sure if we did a good enough job to withstand last night but it did !!!

Another storm is expected over weekend. I have never seen anything like it !!!

How are you all ? I hope everyone is coping through. Have a pleasant day and stay safe friends.

Thanks!!! She is still trying to get over the bronchitis she has been dealing with for weeks now. My sister took her into the doctor the other day and they gave her another round of antibiotic's.

Beautiful picture Star! We have lost many trees due that that darn Emerald Ash Bore too! Someone was saying the other day that one good thing about all this extreme cold is that it should kill off the Emerald Ash Bore? I never heard anything more about that, but wouldn't that be great?! I would love to see Ash tree's being planted again!!! My friends Dad (a farmer) has been planting tiny ash tree's like crazy the last couple years since the bore only feasts on mature tree's. He says the bore can't live forever, & we are going to need Ash trees. Hopefully he had the right idea & others followed his thinking!

My brother told me something similar, but did not mention what kind of insects.

I am so sorry but I don't have time to read one thing on the forums right now. I really need some prayers and good thoughts sent my way. Chico has been dropped off at the vet and praying for good news when the vet calls back. I'm a wreck and need prayers to be strong!!!

Ever make a grilled cheese sandwich in a waffle iron? It works pretty well!
Might not be a bad idea for lunch today. I'm working from home because we're expecting 6 to 9 inches of snow, followed by a changeover to sleet and freezing rain. Mr. drove to the train station, so I'll be worrying about his drive home tonight. It's only a few minutes to the center of town, but still I worry.

Well my niece just left. Her cough still sounds horrible but she is acting like herself. Of course it didn't help that her mom forgot to bring in her cough syrup this morning so she hasn't had any since last night.
