Happy Hump Day! Happy Pines Day!!! I'm at work, so we didn't get enough snow...or enough blowing. I'm not sure which. But boooo! We definitely had to dig out this morning. I got here about 45 min late. Everybody did. UPS started late today too, so that gave my hubby a little extra time to dig us & neighbors out.

Hope you are all having a great (snowy) day! I'm hoping to get a chance to read through some posts!!!

Good afternoon, MMC!

I hope everyone is doing well!

Ended up getting close to 6 inches of snow late last night and into this afternoon. For some reason I woke up around 3 this morning and could not fall back asleep so I watched the snow fall ~ so pretty! When the outdoor light hit the flakes just right they looked like diamonds falling from the sky. At other times the flakes looked like cotton balls. Kind of dragging today so it is a good thing that I didn't have to be anywhere. Working on inputting 5 years of sales into an Excel file ~ going fairly smooth considering I am learning how to use the program as I go along. Fun stuff!

Have a merry afternoon!

Enjoy the pretty snow! Stay safe & warm!!

Good luck w/ your spreadsheet!

Well someone from across the street took my mom's parking spot after I spent a lot of time making sure it was completely ice free and cleaned out for her. There are 6 spots open over there, so there is no reason they couldn't park over there. All I have to say is if it's still there when it's starts snowing heavy, I'll have no idea how all of that snow ended up around it.

Hope they ended up moving their car. I can only imagine how frustrated you were.

Good evening everyone!

I promise not to miss that many days anymore without logging in. It's then impossible to keep up with that many posts of you guys. :[ Anyway, I hope everyone is fine and doing great. It seems that this semester at uni is going to be challenging than ever before. It has been four weeks only and I have already been loaded with work to do. Oh well.

I am sending my best wishes your way.

Good to hear from you - I am sure you will continue to great. Keep your hard work up. Good luck.

Thanks, just saved it!

A few notes on that pattern:

* It's worked longways, 182 stitches long. The various sections use pattern stitches that have to work out to certain multiples. So it's helpful to count the stitches before starting each new section to make sure you still have 182 stitches.

* To avoid the edging problem I encountered, on the first row of the edging, work (142? 144? Not sure which, 'cause I fudged the shells to make it work) stitches evenly spaced across the short edges instead of 140. One of those numbers will make the rows of Woven Stitch work out correctly. (You need the spaces between the Woven Stitches to equal a multiple of four, or 72 spaces.)

* On the edging, the pattern shows the final row of shells on Row 7, which is a wrong-side row---but the photo shows the shells facing right-side. I think the shells look better done on a right-side row. Just leave out a row of Woven Stitches, or make an extra row.

None of this will make much sense until you actually get to the edging of the afghan---just save these notes and tuck them away with the pattern.

Have you tried drawing the pattern out in crochet symbols? I think that would be much easier than crocheting it and trying to figure it out as you go along because you could see the pattern and figure out where to add/delete areas.

I succombed and went to the Goodwill, I ended up buying The Flintstones Christmas Carol for $2 this morning. cheesy Crazy Christmas guy strikes again.

That was such a great buy! I would have got it too!

Xmas- Glad you played it safe and stayed home!!!

Holiday- Sorry you didn't get your snow day!!! Hope you aren't to busy at work!!

Meceka- Stay safe!!! Good Luck with the spreadsheet!!!!

We are in Dunkin Donuts territory here, there was few Krispy Kremes not to far away about a decade ago, they didn't last though. To be honest, I did like Dunkin's donuts better than Krispy Kreme's.

Same way here - Krisy Kreme didn't last either. They were good, but very sweet!

They even closed the Dunkin Donuts here right before Christmas. All we have is the supermarkets.

Sheetz has really good donuts. They make them themselves. You'll have to try them when you come back to visit!

Sweet is good!!!! That's why we all like you!!! LOL!!

Sounds like a good plan!!!

You should go check and see if the Dunkin Donuts on 22 still makes Peanut Butter creme filled donuts!!!! I loved those things!!! The last time we were back we stopped there right as they were opening before we left and got 2 dozen. I think there was only a 1/2 dozen left but the time we got home. LOL!!! That was 10 years ago though.

Thanks, buddy!!! I am.

Hope you stay safe when the snow reaches you too!!!

It wasn't actually that bad here. Weather.com says we didn't even get an inch. I'm not sure how true that is. It does look like we got some snow, but it's been really blowing. We did get the sleet and freezing rain like they called for. They canceled all the schools today, but the roads were pretty good by the time I went home this morning. They probably could have delayed. Anyway, the storm shifted, so I think that is why we didn't get pounded.

In a few short months we will be complaining about the heat and telling each other to "Keep cool." cheesy

I try to never complain about the heat. I will say, "Keep cool", but I love, love, love warm weather, so bring it on!!! I can't wait until June, Myrtle Beach here I come!

That's so scary!
We already got a call from the school for a two hour delay for tomorrow. I really hope they change it to a snow day.

Hoping the schools closed!

I love the "cheat sheet" with the symbols! I'll download the PDF and keep it with my patterns.

That's an excellent suggestion. I considered doing that for the problem section, but that section is 140+ stitches wide, and I just didn't want to sketch all that out in symbols. Now that I know where the pitfalls are, I made careful notes on my pattern for next time. I can see where the symbols would help to visualize a complex pattern. Wouldn't it be great if there was a download, like a font, that would let you use the symbols on the computer?

I made a lot of good progress on the afghan while working at home today (no jobs have come in yet), and I'll be close to finishing it this evening.
:???:

Crochet fascinates me---a hook, a length of yarn, and it grows into a blanket! It's like magic.

Good evening to all!

I hope everyone is okey today. :] As I was going through the posts, I've realized majority of you have snow and suddenly I felt very jealous about it. I missed snow a lot! ^^ There was some sleet here on Friday but that was it. Such a shame that people here rarely experience proper wintery weather. :/ Oh well.
For some weird reason, I am very sleepy today. It's only 6 p.m. here right now and I am almost sleeping. I think it happens sometimes, doesn't it? :]
Enjoy your snow everyone and stay warm. Best wishes! <3

Have a good night Victoria!

That doesn't make any sense. Stay safe.

It doesn't make sense, I decided to keep my daughter home. I don't know what they're thinking.

Good afternoon,

I decided to stay home today, there was too much snow coming down way too fast. We have at least 9 inches out there right now and the sleet freezing rain yet to come. The Governor asked people to stay off the roads, and the fact my road hadn't been plowed in a little while made the decision easy. My life is a little more important than a few pounds of hamburg for the few crazy people who would be out shopping in this mess.

Just taking it easy now before I head out and shovel, it is a heavy wet snow so it will be a long process.

I hope you all are having a good day.

I'm happy you were able to stay home xmas!
