so chilly here today, every one has jackets on! Going to warm up again on the weekend, but for now this is great, I love to cooler temperatures.

Got the cakes baked, tomorrow I put it all together and put the fondant on and decorate.

As soon as a couple of other things are done I am going up to read for awhile before bed.

Right now I am watching "Robots" because this is a movie with Robin Williams in it. His talent lives on but he will be so missed.

Enjoy your movie & book! Goodnight, CS.

Aw, she is such a sweetie, XmasDreams!

A biopsy was done on Joshua's liver, but it will be up to 72 hours for the results. They are trying to find the primary spot of the cancer so they can decide a course of action. A friend told me that two of her friends had liver cancer, and the doctors went in with long needles and froze the lesions. No chemo or radiation were required. We shall see.

Oh, Seawaters, praying for Joshua! How are you doing? Keeping you in my prayers, too! {{{HUGS}}}

That sounds like it's more to my speed!

I suppose that careful attention to privacy settings would cut down on the trolls and on-screen attacks and sparring I hear about frequently, but I'm still too shy. I could also see myself someday getting het up about something and posting something I later wished I hadn't.

On top of which I would be the most boring thing ever on Facebook. No photos of kids or pets to share, too shy to post photos of us, leery of sharing too much information publicly ... no point in starting! I don't say "never," but right now there's no good reason.

I am leery of sharing too much info, too.

Good Thursday (BIG Milestone Day!), my Christmas friends!

I had to leave work early yesterday. Mom called saying she was driving herself to the emergency room with chest pain. It was too late to get her to call an ambulance, so I met her at the hospital. It turned out that she was just really dehydrated from working in the yard too much in this heat & humidity. After some fluids, she was much better so we took her home and had supper with her. She has to get a better plan for working outside during the summer!

Elizabeth finally received her letter with the results of her audition for the newest ballet, Count...The Legend of Dracula. She got the group dancing part (as she expected), but she was also invited to play a larger role as a London vampire. Oh, she was so excited! The girls will be working with a professional ballet group from Ohio, so she is beside herself. LOL

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

Brad, so glad it wasn't anything serious with your mom! Big congratulations to Elizabeth!! Hope you have a merry rest-of-the-week!

Good morning!
Thankfully the sun is now shining after all of that rain yesterday. My husband has his work cut out for him. He spent the entire day cleaning his shop and taking the machines apart. (he has a custom cabinetry and millwork business with his brother) They are trying to dry out and salvage what they can. Their main computer also had water damage. Plus we ended up with water in our basement, the pumps just couldn't keep up. And the back yard is a mess. Looks like the kitchen is getting put on the back burner again.
Typical day here of errands and chores. I also have a few college related things to do. My daughter leaves two weeks from tomorrow!
I hope everyone is well and has a nice day!

Keeping you and your family in my prayers, HmG! {{{HUGS}}}

Good morning MMC! Happy Friday Eve! Not much going on around here today. Looking forward to a day off tomorrow! It's my hubby & my sisters "bothday" birthday! We are going to take a drive tomorrow morning to see our cabinets! Gracie & I stayed at the lake last night - she came home with me this morning. I think she's so confused - every time she comes home, something has changed at HER house! Supposedly our contractors are coming back Monday to cut a hole in our wall & build the new room. xx Of course they are calling for rain Sunday, Monday, Tues, Wed... Go figure!!!

Have a marvelous day everyone!!!

Happy "Bothday" Birthday to your hubby and your sister! Have a merry three-day weekend, Holiday!

Happy Milestone Day, MMC!!!

Oh, my word, HMG! How heavenly! We will have a big island like that that is across from our stove, too. We will have a regular sink there, and the dishwasher will also be housed in the island. Hubby already has the "outline" for the pony wall. On the back of the island (where your baby is [your cat]), we will have about eight evenly-spaced outlets for all the crockpots I use during Thanksgiving. The sink will be on the south side and the TV will be on the north wall--I'll be able to watch TV while I use the sink. The size of the room will require a 70- or 80-inch screen. We already have the hood for the stove, and it is huge! We will also have the red knobs, so We have been slowly adding equipment and "stuff" in red. The pendulum lights have some red and turquoise in them (sort of a retro/60s/modern cut glass look). The appliances will be stainless. We have already bought some red small appliances such as toaster, can opener, crockpot, and some cooking utensils in red. We plan on having subway tile as the back splash. The stove will have a stainless back splash. Because of the placement of the sink, we decided against having a water spigot at the stove. We've never had one, so I don't think we will miss it! We are still making decisions on counter top colors and floor coverings--one day at a time! I know how hard your husband is working and understand the time issue! Add to that the monsoons and other weather-related problems. I sure hope these problems don't add any more stress! It seems that remodeling has its own set of problems and stress! Take care and BOTH of you get some rest!

Thank you so much Seawaters! Your kitchen sounds amazing, I can't wait to see pictures. Our dishwasher is in the island too, it's on the side that wasn't in the picture. The microwave is next to the dishwasher. It opens and closes like a drawer, it's pretty cool. And we have a freezer next to the microwave. I think my husband wants to do the subway tile on the backsplash too. I haven't put too much thought in to decorating yet but I really should. I'm sure I will pick up the red from the oven handles as well, I like that. Sounds like you're really customizing the kitchen to your needs, you are going to be so happy when it's done!

Your kitchen! I LOVE it! ;o

Oh my oh my...that is a fabulous kitchen.
Beautiful design details...enjoy, you deserve it!

Thank you both so much!

Good evening, friends~

Good evening Snowflake!
xx

Hi friends! Hope you're all having a great day!

Good evening Sugar!
I hope you had a great day too, enjoy the rest of your evening!

oh wow, I hope you can get everything dried out. If that is not possible that your insurance will cover all the damage.

So exciting for your daughter, I hope she will have a wonderful year at school!

Thank you Star! I'm still waiting for my husband to get home to see how they made out today, I'll keep you posted.

Wishing you all a good evening! Vicki and I just got back from eating dinner at Bob Evans Restaurant. I had the Turkey dinner and right now, I'm feeling like a stuffed turkey!!!

I have not been up to a whole heck of a lot lately, mostly I have been in this la-la-land, with not knowing yet what, exactly we are going to do about moving. We have been going back and forth with these people that are selling their home and we put in an offer, they counter, we counter, and they counter, and so on and on it has gone. We just made our LAST offer to them, and we told them so, that if they did not accept, then we will go else where's.....The gentleman said he was going to talk to his wife tonight and get back with us, so it's a wait and see game.....

In the mean time, I've been packing things up and just preparing to go somewhere, worst case, I'll rent a place for awhile, until either something comes on the market or we buy land and build, we'll just have to wait and see how things unfold....

Well, the Mrs. just walked in the door from work, so I'll talk to you al tomorrow am.....

Best wishes xmastidings, I hope all goes well with the house. Have a good night!

Keeping you and your family in my prayers, HmG! {{{HUGS}}}

Thank you Meceka, I really appreciate the prayers. I hope you have a nice night!

********** MILESTONE DAY **********

Good Morning, Dear Friends.

Seems like just yesterday we passed a Milestone Day and now, here's another one already.
(Actually, it wasn't much longer than just yesterday!)

But be that as it may, we now find ourselves THREE QUARTERS OF THE WAY BACK TO THE CHRISTMAS SEASON.

Days to the Season: 91
Days to Christmas Day: 133

Our next Milestone?
Well.......
Nope.
Too soon.
You'll just have to wait.
(Unless you want to consult the chart, that is.)

Well, a wonderful, low humidity, cool, rain-free day was experienced here yesterday. It really couldn't get any better for mid August.
(If only it could remain this way until the fall!)
We are at a surprisingly cool 61 degrees here at this hour to start the day.

Have a Thrilling Thursday, Everyone.
And get all geared up for another Exciting Eve of the Weekend tomorrow!

Nice!!! We are getting close!!!

Congrats to Elizabeth!!

When I was first married, my first husband and I lived in Japan. Our kitchen was maybe 4 feet by 3 feet. My "stove" was a two-burner hot plate! I once cooked pinto beans (from scratch), using a large Folgers coffee can as my bean pot. Those were some of my funnier, happy cooking days! Later, we bought a two-burner propane stove-oven and I was in heaven! As I am sure you know, it's not about what you have; it's about who you are with (at the time).

Nice kitchen, Homemakingirl! I love all the counter space you have. I sure wish I had more counter space in my kitchen. It is so hard to cook because of the lack of counter space and becomes a bit frustrating. I know I am blessed to at least have a kitchen with food to cook! That kitchen is in the house I live in and I am blessed to have a home. Count my blessings, count my blessings! So I will stop complaining now! :D

You do have a beautiful kitchen. I know you must be very happy! =)

Thanks Seawaters!
Ok I know it looks like I keep posting the same picture but I took these after the counter tops were installed. We're getting there, slowly but surely. I think the backsplash will be next. Just have to pick the tile out.

Beautiful!!

Good evening!
I'm getting kind of sleepy but I'm trying to stay awake until my husband gets home. The poor thing is going to be exhausted, its been a really long day for him.
I just wanted to update you on the pre-school job that I was offered. I decided I didn't want to commit to the five days, especially the Monday, Wednesday & Friday shift which was 8:00 - 3:00. I asked if it would be possible to just do the Tuesday & Thursday, 8:00 - 12:00. She said yes! I'm excited, I really think I'm going to like it. I'll be working with two year olds and I just love that age. I know it seems kind of silly because its only a few hours a week but I think it's a good start for me. At least I have my foot in the door and maybe someday I can increase the hours. Like I mentioned the other day, they follow the school district schedule so I'll have off on holidays, Winter & Spring recess and of course Summer break. Oh and snow days! I have a staff meeting September 2nd and classes begin on the 4th!
Well I'm going to read while I wait for my hubby, I hope everyone has a good night. I'll see you in the morning, sweet dreams! [emoji177]

Sorry to hear about the damage and the flooding. I hope your husbands shop will be up in running soon.
