a wonderful day, great birthday, but almost ended tragical....yes, we were a attacked by a shark!

fortunately we were able to fight it off and get away safe !

TGIF, my Christmas friends!

Today is Jacob's 17th birthday! We're taking him and a few of his buddies out to eat and to a movie tonight. Then tomorrow evening, we're cooking dogs & burgers with the family.

And tomorrow is the first day of hunting season!! I know not everyone likes to hunt, but being raised in south Georgia, it's a way of life. And it's a good way for dads & sons to bond. Even when I was a teenager and was sure I knew more than my dad knew, I loved to hunt with him LOL.

Sounds like a great weekend. You're right about the bonding. When I was a teenager, even if relations were tense, the one thing Dad and I could always talk about was baseball & golf. With my son, we always have basball & football.

Hope you guys are ready for a nice weekend - I bet you are!

I have this weekend off but that is because Mr Festive is in Italy. His best friend is getting married on Saturday and he is the best man Our whole family couldn't make it as it would be to complicated with the children especially as one is back at school.

So anyway, the children and I have a nice weekend in planned and I am looking forward to it as I have not had one off since Easter!

I bought my first autumn candle - Apple Pumpkin! I am waiting till it starts to feel more autumn before I light it. I am also holding on to our summer while I can. It is funny to hear you all talk about your fall temps as these are closer to our summer temps lol!

Ok , well I hope everyone is doing well. I really wish I could engage more in conversation - I have no idea what is going on lol. I figure even if I can't keep up with posts , I will atleast pop in and say hello. I don't want to be away for so long like I was recently!

I struggle keeping up with the post sometimes so I just do what I can. At least pop in and say hi!! We love hearing from you.

I have already bought 4 fall candles - all of them pumpkin varieties. Yummy!

No, he has not. It's at the end of the month. My mother in law, Dorothy, is a fighter. But she found out that she will be on chemo for the rest of her life, so we are having a tough time accepting that. And my dear friend's fiancée is on his way for treatments in Ensenada. We appreciate the prayers, please keep them coming [emoji175]

I know you and I already talked about your situation. Just remember I am still praying!!!

I've just finished tidying up the house. It took quite a while, as always, but I like the satisfaction when the job is done. ^^
I'm going to the Rotary Club event this evening. The invitation is dedicated to my parents but since dad is away with work, I am accompanying my mum.

Technically she wasn't fired because she was sick. It was because she put the date as the 3rd when it was the 2nd on a repair order.

In reality, it's because she was sick and was missing so much time. She had a FMLA form filed though to protect her there.

She's only 58 so she has a while before she can retire. I think we are going to look into disability or SSI. Her doctor doesn't think she will get it but it doesn't hurt to try.

Sounds like a (very bad) excuse!! I hope things work out for her!

Good afternoon!
Things went pretty well at the preschool today. We had a few kids that wouldn't stop crying but we tried to comfort them as much as we could. I'm sure it's going to take some time but hopefully they will learn to love it. It kind of made me sad though, they are so young and they just want their mommys.
I got a call from Hallmark this afternoon and I was happy to hear that my Keepsake Club ornaments came in, so I ran out to get them. That made my day. I'm looking forward to the next premiere in October.
I also spoke with my daughter and college is going well. She's still homesick but she's much better than she was a few days ago. She's keeping busy now that classes started. I'm so relieved that she's feeling better. The only bad thing she had to report was that she dropped her Iphone today and shattered the glass. She comes home next month for Columbus Day weekend so we'll fix it for her then. She'll just have to deal with it for a few weeks. It doesn't seem to be bothering her, she's still texting me like crazy. And most importantly, the camera works fine. God forbid she couldn't take a selfie!

Well, I finally had a normal day today after Jude going back to school, after playdates and meetings the last two days. Our kindergarten is only 9-12 so it's so odd not having him here with us all day! Noel and I are both homebodies so we lay low with him not bugging us to go out!

I went a bit nutty in the kitchen.. made some cookies yesterday and today I made rolls, dilly beans, pickles, sauce, and pumpkin muffins. Wouldn't you know my kids already have eaten half of the muffins??? Boys are nuts! lol

I got everything clean today and pulled out the fall decor but it was just too muggy for me to get in the mood. PLUS I didn't have any candy corn on hand, so God forbid I decorate without it!!!! ha!

Sounds like a deliciously fun day!!!! You know - I think there is a bag of candy corn somewhere in the basement from last year yet. Think it's any good?? LOL!!! I'm not sure how that one snuck through w/o being eaten! I think I was trying to hide it from myself - must have worked. LOL

Well, I put off doing my work for most of the day as it has been rather muggy and I had a headache, but now I am better so I had best get my chores done and then the stuff I need to do for the store. I foresee a busy night! cheesy

So happy I do not have to be at the preschool today, lol. I'm just having a cup of coffee and relaxing. Not too much going on. I'm going to work on a menu plan and grocery list, maybe take a ride to the butcher. My middle daughter will be home today so I think I'm going to clean her room with her, it's such a mess. Her boyfriend got in to a car accident yesterday, thankfully he wasn't hurt. I'm so glad she wasn't in the passenger seat when it happened, he said his airbags didn't go off! He's waiting to hear if the car will be a total loss. I feel bad for him. Anyway, I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!!!

Dad has a swallow test at 9am this morning - he is out of therapy time (Medicare) so if he can't pass this test, it's pureed food for him at least until next year...so please send up a prayer he can pass it this morning! THANKS!

We should finally dropped down to 87 degrees next week. I am looking forward to that!!! For now, 90's to up to 100. Blah!
