Christmas Countdown - 2014

We are having a great holiday season despite some hiccups. Ms HollyJolly came up sick while we were on vacation. I resisted as long as i could but Saturday got sick as well. it happened as the worst of hers was over. Good timing because i needed her to step up even though she is still sick. That said, it has still put a bit of a crunch on our schedule...especially the part where we help others out with their holiday needs and decorating. We can function for short bursts and then need to lay down. About the only good to have come from it involves watching TV and movies.

Even with all that going on, we're thankful and have been doing ok. Hopefully we are just a few days from better health and can get back on track. I have done a lot more Cybershopping from a prone position rather than going to the stores much.

Internet problems here, they cannot come by until dec 8th !!! Ahhhh no internet for a week! I think we will be visiting mc'donalds daily till then . But if we can't I will check in through my phone . At least it will be on before the worlds biggest Christmas party !

A late-day hello to all!

Slept in, then spent the day wrapping gifts and preparing packages for mailing, while listening to Christmas old-time radio. Then Mr. and I had lunch, and I headed out to Jo-Ann and bought a big load of yarn. (My stash was pretty much gone!) I had sticker shock when I got the total, but it should keep me busy for a while. I'm kinda tired now, so I think I'll crash on the couch and crochet while watching some Christmas DVDs. We may wind up screening some film in the basement later, if I don't poop out too early.

I just love having four days off at Thanksgiving! (Thanksgiving, the day after, and the weekend) Can't believe the second day is already winding down, though. I'll be decorating little by little over the weekend, I think. Must get some rest before Monday, though. The volume and pace of work at the office has been almost brutal in recent weeks.

Where all did you go? How were the lines?

We went to Meijer, CVS, Michaels, Toys R us, Walmart, and Target. The lines weren't bad at all compared to years past. Walmart here has usually been the problem. They finally caught on though and started doing it like target and toys r us. They had 1 line coming from each side of the store to the registers. Then when you got to the front of the line, they sent you to the next available register. That way you didn't have 20 different lines winding through the store to each register. So we only waited in line for 25 minutes instead of the hour and a half that it took last year.

We went to Meijer, CVS, Michaels, Toys R us, Walmart, and Target. The lines weren't bad at all compared to years past. Walmart here has already been the problem. They finally caught on though and started doing it like target and toys r us. They had 1 line coming from each side of the store to the registers. Then when you got to the front of the line, they sent you to the next available register. That way you didn't have 20 different lines winding through the store to each register. So we only waited in line for 25 minutes instead of the hour and a half that it took last year.
