Things are really starting to get frightening.
Just take a look at the latest numbers batch:
Days to Halloween: 2 (Why! That's the DAY AFTER TOMORROW!!)
Days to the Season: 15 (TWO WEEKS FROM TOMORROW!)
Days to Christmas Day: 57 (EIGHT weeks from tomorrow!)
(Things are starting to get as scary as Carl's haunted wing tour last night!)
Warmer yesterday with lots of humidity. The rain tapered off somewhat but was still present. I'm looking forward to a clearer and sunnier day today.
It has begun at 65 degrees here in our part of MMC. It's very damp but no sign of rain.

Bless her heart, sending up prayers for her now.Please send up a prayer for my SIL if you don't mind. She is in ICU - they took her last night by squad then transferred her to a bigger hospital to have fluid drained from her heart. She was supposed to be moved to a regular floor today but they don't want to take the drain out b/c they are still getting fluid from around her heart. They got a liter last night, more overnight & 400 ml today. She has low sodium levels, low energy, no appetite. She has had breast cancer in the past & was supposed to have a surgery to remove an ovary a couple weeks ago before she started feeling so sick with a chest cold. They are running a lot of tests & her oncologist is involved. She is very sick. This is my brother who passed away in 2012 - his wife. She sure can use some prayers! Thanks friends!

The Season start date (Nov 13) is rapidly approaching. It's time to begin serious thought about our five-day Special Post series! In years past this has always been a top highlight of the days immediately preceeding the Christmas Season beginning.
Now, we already have one signed up: Christmasstar, who requested any date. I assigned her to Nov. 10, Day 3 before the Season.
I will assign Nov. 9 to Binger, their long-standing traditional day, unless they want a change. Bing?
That leaves Nov. 8, Nov. 11 and Nov 12 open for any first come-first served writers.
Check out last year's thread to get a feel for what this is like, if you haven't been here in years past. Great fun, wonderful sentiment and a perfect lead-in to Season Day one!

Good Thursday morning, my Christmas friends!
The kids will be in competition with their one-act play this afternoon, so I'll be leaving work early to attend. I told Jacob that while he's playing the banjo on stage, he needed to play a bit of "Dueling Banjos" from the movie Deliverance. I bet that would draw a laugh!
When we get this competition behind us, maybe we can focus on Nutcracker even more. I'm really excited to see that again!

Thank you! She was stable overnight - less drainage than during the day. Hopefully will have results today if the fluid taken from her heart is malignant. Ugh! Praying...Many prayers being sent up for your SIL

Oh yes, Jackson is a handsome gentleman!She had a boyfriend! I just caught that. Does mom approve? I hope he's a gentleman!
But we keep a close eye on him when he's around Miss Gracie! Ha ha!
It was tasty. I only had enough to try it. Saving it for Saturday! But I might have to try a bowl for lunch or supper today!
