Christmas Countdown - 2015

Good afternoon gang ... We had a 2 hour delay for work this morning due to slippery road conditions. By the time I left the house, the roads were not that bad a few slick spots here and there. Since I had extra time I stopped at Hallmark on my way into work and scored on a bunch of ornaments for our kids. I even picked up a few that I liked for the tree and a few more for gifts for extended family. Got to love 75% off sales!!!

We did take down all the outdoor Christmas decorations yesterday but left the snowman out and strung up snowflake lights across the front of the deck. We will keep them there until March.

Well my lunch break is almost over. Have a great day everyone.

My team is Notre Dame so no rooting interest, will just watch the game to enjoy it. Also for movie fans there is a Avengers Ultron sneak peak during the game. Also looking forward to that.

Well, I'm still home, still waiting on the driveway to thaw, and on top of that, I had the alarm company scheduled to come to the house this morning to do some work. This morning when they called, I told them not to make the attempt, until later, but they didn't listen and what happened, they got stuck and now my driveway is completely blocked because they ended up spinning the wheels on their tires enough, where they are now partially off the driveway, crooked and stuck. Now nothing can come in and no one can go out.....

I'm seriously scratching my head, because I can see that things above the ground are starting to thaw, but the driveway is being stubborn, it still has ice all on it even after I salted it twice now.....

I didn't have any salt here at the house for that situation, I went down to the basement and dug 2 small buckets full of salt from out of the inside of the water softener....

I guess that's your sign to stay home!!! (and help Lisa) Lol! Good luck!!!

Ok, got the truck that was stuck in my driveway out, I got out myself for the first time today and I went up to home depot to get salt for my water softener and some for the driveway and pad outside. I got the spreader out and put a 40lb bag inside it and went to town. It's got a good coating on it now. Hopefully, that will prevent the re=freeze on it tonight, like all the weather stations are predicting...

Well, I guess it's a foregone conclusion that It's pretty much, pointless to go to work at this time of the day, I didn't want to do that, but, what else could I of have done.

I think Zach is going to stay home tonight and not go to work as well because he worried about getting out of work sometime between 11 and 1 am, and the roads (especially the back roads), will be bad and something happens (in a bad way) to his new WRX~

You know, here I am, just sitting here, typing away and laughing at myself and sometimes a person will not know exactly what they type until they actually post it. It's like, ok, it sounds great in your head, you type it out and then you post it....

Great idea to stay home!!! It's supposed to be darn right freezing again for the next 3 nights!! :cold: I scraped the driveway & sidewalk out front at lunch, as well as the new patio out back. Well there was a layer of slush under the snow & now the back patio is like a sheet of ice....but since it's new concrete, we can't salt it. UGH! Guess we'll just stay off it - poor Gracie will be slip sliding though!! You had an eventful day!!! Have a great night!
