Good Morning!
Happy Saturday!
I'm heading out soon to get my food shopping over with. Back home afterward to work on some chores around the house. I want to get everything out of the way before the hockey game this afternoon. It's do or die for the Islanders!
I hope everyone is well. I'll see you all later, have a great day!!!

Glad to see the Islanders won today. The 2 most exciting words in sports, "game 7."

I have always been under the impression that Black bears will run from humans, It's the grizzlies that are the bad ones. But, your right, any mama bear would go into protection mode if there were cubs nearby....Be careful out walking...

That is true I believe, to a certain extent. The grizzlies and the polar bears are the most aggressive.
But the DNR told my neighbor to avoid direct eye contact, and make sure they know you're big and strong! that typically they'll try to avoid you, unless there are no longer phased by humans. The ones in a neighboring town, are attacking pet rabbits and dogs. Over 5 homes have lost their pets :(

Thank you, we'll be on alert!

My dad was reminding me of a story from when he was in Canada about 15 years ago on a fishing trip. They had a male and female black bear in their camp, and they were looking for food.. They had lost their fear for humans, and even came up on their front porch looking into the cabin. A shooter came out about three hours later, and had to put them down because they were showing signs of aggression. Scary, and sad.

Good evening, friends! What started off as a cool day ended up being beautiful! Temps got to around 85 and it was beautiful! Got to play, go eat with parents, and take a nap....that is a great Saturday!

About to head to bed and read the rest of the boards....yall have a great night and see y'all for coffee!

My friend (lives down the street, but closer to farmland & woods) just texted me, and she and her husband had bears come to visit them last night..yikes! I always worry about that when I walk Harlowe, or take her outside. Hope they stay in the woods and forage there!! They would be neat to see, but from a distance!

We got a call earlier today from my sil, she informed us that my niece, was assaulted last night, walking from the hospital to her car. They tried to rob her and they roughed her up. She's ok, thank the lord, but very shaken up... She is a nurse that works at University of Maryland Shock Trauma in Baltimore City. She has 2 babies at home, could of have been a lot worse and this morning they could of have been orphans....

That really torks me off! Baltimore City.... they tried to give the city a motto - "The city that reads!". Actually, it's "The city that bleeds"...It's true...Baltimore City is a very, very, very dangerous place, you do not want to go there. They have anywhere between 200 - 300 murders there a year. I have taught my kids to stay away from the place. No matter what place of attraction or tourist thing there is down there...

Hmmm, will they protest about that or report that on the news; don't hold your breath....

That's horrible! It's great that your niece is okey. And yet, these huge numbers of murders make me wonder what kind of bad stuff have happened to those people earlier in their life to start hurting random people. I know it probably sounds very plain and naive but that's what I always think.

Good Saturday evening, my Christmas friends!

I got up early and cut the grass before the storm descended upon us. It rained almost 5"! Then we took Elizabeth to dance. Went to Moe's for lunch (love that place!), and then to a movie. Nancy & Elizabeth saw Cinderella, and I saw Ex Machina. They loved theirs, me not so much.

When we got home, I went to Jim's shop to plan our next step on the Camaro. Another body shop friend of ours offered to help us, too, so I'm feeling less apprehensive about the paint job. We cranked it again, too. That never gets old!

We have a family reunion on Nancy's dad's side of the family tomorrow.

I hope y'all have a great evening! cheesy

Enjoy your family reunion! :]

DH's aunt passed away last night. There were too many complications after the surgery for her to recover. Pray for the family please. DD took it better than I thought she would. DH is holding it together for her but having a hard time. Our house will be the gathering place for visitors, so we'll be busy through the first of next week.

So sorry to hear this news, Whitney. Lots of prayers for your family. (((Hugs)))

Good morning MMC! Happy Friday! YAY!!!

Busy - fun - not so fun - weekend ahead for us! My neighbor just texted saying she wants to have a Funday Friday today! She thinks we can do 59º & sunshine! cheesy Then I'll be heading to the lake! Tomorrow afternoon we have my Dads burial (ashes) & then there is mass for him at 5:00. After that we will be heading to my brothers to make homemade pizza's on the grill. I'm making a Frisch's Big Boy Pizza. Last night I browned the burger, sliced the pickles, & measured out the ingredients for it that I could do ahead of time. I also made a cheese ball I figured I can get that out at the lake &/or bring to my brothers. Now I guess I could get it out for Funday Friday too! Sunday we have our cousins wife's viewing. That is from 1-6, so hopefully we can get there right away at 1:00 & then have the rest of the afternoon to do something a little more fun. The weather is supposed to be yucky tomorrow - 100% chance of rain & a high of 49º! Good thing the burial shouldn't take long! Sunday is supposed to be pretty nice - kinda like today.

Hope you all have a nice weekend planned! Have a good FRIDAY!

Keeping you guys in my thoughts and prayers! (((Hugs)))

Good morning, Christmas Countdown Frontiers!

Happy Rudolph Day! Yes, we have reached the 25th of the fourth month of the year. To our benefit, it's also on a Saturday. The day we've worked all week to experience. Hopefully that will give us all a little more time to do something Christmassy to celebrate the occasion!

We're in for quite the celebration tomorrow. Not only will we be reaching our 1/3 to Christmas Day milestone, but Crown will return to lead us through the countdown. Feels like double excitement, doesn't it? Let's take a look at the numbers...

Days to the Season: 202

Days to Christmas Day: 244

Wow-wee! Aside from such a fun day tomorrow, we're still in for a treat on Monday with the countdown reaching the 200 Days to the Christmas Season milestone, as well. It is a perfect time for our Countdown Expert to return!

The weather seems to be a little better today in Canada's Capital. Temperatures are to reach the lower double digits/50s, with some sun. It's still not quite Spring, but we will take it.

We have a few things to do today. Kim and I will be heading out shortly to do our grocery shopping for ourselves and Simon. Tonight, we will be reaping the benefits of "Poutinefest," which is taking place about a 10 minute walk from our house. There will be about 25 different poutine vendors with probably 300 different types of poutine. Delicious. Of course, we'll only try one each, but the choice will more than likely be quite difficult!

Well, we've finally made it to Saturday. Crown will be returning tonight to lead us into tomorrow. Thanks to everyone who has followed along for the week while I "took over." I had a fantastic time. It is always a real pleasure.

Have a Super Saturday, everyone!

Happy Rudolph Day! Can't believe we're coming up on 200 days!

Hope you and Kim enjoyed the fest!
