TGIF, my Christmas friends!
I finished with the lawn yesterday, just in time to shower, eat, and catch the debate.
Today is the weekly lunch my brother and I have with our mom, so I'm looking forward to that. We haven't had a chance to do this in a few weeks. This is the last Friday that the kids will be out of school, so I'll be missing that soon, too. Time flies!

Yesterday was a hard visit for me as it was the first time I was there when the "caretaker" showed up to fix her lunch and take her out for her walk around the block. I thought it so odd that my dad and I were in the same room and both of us capable of tending to her needs. I realized that I'm on holidays so I wouldn't normally stop by to visit during the day and my dad was between tasks (he's in Real Estate - doesn't punch a steady clock) so we just happened to be there. My dad told me that she receives home-care twice a week because she can't make the same excuses not to exercise with her helper the way she does with us. After my mom's stroke 7 years ago, she suffered other mishaps because her perception is off-kilter and she can't tell shadows from pavement and carpet, etc. She and my dad have been through a lot and treat it all with a sense of humour and continue to make plans regardless of how they're feeling or what they're going through and I think that attitude has helped them continue to be happy no matter what gets tossed in their direction.
My dad has been cancer-free for 11 years now and wasn't expected to live when he was first diagnosed. I love how they're still sweethearts.
I sure hope I inherited their courage and strength. I know I inherited their love for Christmas!!! Keep a merry thought in your head!

Thank you snowflake! He never responded to the picture I sent him of Gracie in his spot! LOL! He should be done with his fishing excursion (4 hours) - I'm waiting for pictures. (Blah)Sounds like Jim is having a fabulous time!! That's great!

I'm just having my coffee and working on a menu plan and grocery list. I'm going to head out soon, I need to run to Rite Aid and the butcher. Back home afterward to work on my daily chores. I also plan on going to Barnes and Noble this afternoon to pick out a new book and look for another workout dvd. That's about it for me.
