Christmas Countdown - 2015

Good evening,

Just another resting day here, kids driving me nuts all day. My wife had meetings and time to get her classroom ready for next week.
I played on Facebook quite a bit today, I had a cousin asking me to post more pictures since I haven't seen her in 11 years. I don't plan on being there that much. I can definitely see how it can get addicting.

I read where there's an August baby boom because of the snow and cold last winter. Take care of yourself during those long hours.
Yes, I'm awfully tired. I pretty much hit the wall at the end of today. Tomorrow is supposed to be a another rough one, so I'll try to get some good sleep tonight.
At least you're busy In a good cause, in fulfilling work. Just now we're busy trying to satisfy a client's unreasonable demands. Some days it's more like jumping through hoops than doing anything really productive or fulfilling. There's little pride or satisfaction in that. Thank goodness, not all of our clients are that way.
Don't mind me being gloomy. It's just the tired talking, plus the shock our office had earlier in the week, when the husband of one of our writers collapsed and died suddenly. The writer's writing partner wrote a very moving obit; he asked me to proofread it today. It was a touching gesture for him to write it, and he did himself proud, but I felt a bit tearful afterward. I work with some very good people.
I'm just rambling. Better get to bed.

Hope everyone had a nice mid week. We have a free week this week which is a nice change. Sons Birthday party on saturday!
I went to pick up a few decorations and Michaels had out some great Fall things and Christmas ribbon

Off to another busy day at work! Glad the weekend is only a few days away, but even then I've got work for 5.5 hours on Saturday and 2 on Sunday. Hate when that happens...at least it'll be a little restful and not 8.5 solid hours of craziness like this week and next week are each day.

Sounds like many of us are having busy and crazy weeks in different ways--be good to yourself and do something fun today to take some of the stress off! Stress isn't good for us! I personally will be enjoying some Christmas music today. Have a good day!!!

Good Morning, MMC!!! It's going to be a beautiful day here with a high in the mid 70's. The pollen count is going to be off the charts though. So that won't be fun. I don't have much going on today. May run to the grocery store later if there is anything good in the ads. Mom is sticking to her normal timeline and is walking by herself today with the walker. Just needs help getting up out of the recliner. Which she was having problems with before this episode to. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!

And this Milestone we're closing in on?
Well, it's the 2/3 point to Christmas Day 2015.
And furthermore, it's only FIVE days ahead! At which point, we will be into the LAST third of our journey.
(Moving right along at a steady clip, we are!)


A nice rain fell yesterday evening, bringing down the heat.
No doubt however, it will contribute to today's humidity.
We have begun things here in central NC at 75 damp. overcast degrees.

Good Thursday morning, my Christmas friends!

Mama called yesterday, wanting us to come over to help her finish off some leftovers. The kids stayed to go to youth service, but Nancy and I went, and so did a few others from our church. We had a great time, laughing about old times. Fun, fun! But today I have to do some extra work on my side business that I was supposed to do yesterday. That's alright. It was worth it.

We also watched a DVD of Elizabeth's Spring Ballet Recital. I could watch her dance all day!

Thank you! LOTS better than 1 a.m.! I took a little nap until Mr. got home, and I was out. Slept soundly last night, but this morning I sure don't feel like I did. I put water in the electric teakettle and stared at it a full minute wondering why it wasn't beginning to heat. THEN I remembered to flip the switch on.
Today may be another long one---my supervisor was hoping Mr. could come in and help out, but he's booked elsewhere. But oh, boy, am I looking forward to tomorrow. I'm hoping it will rain so I won't be bothered by the sounds of lawn mowers and landscapers in the neighborhood.

I'll pray for some rain for you! (but not for me) I hope you can enjoy your day off to the fullest!! But 1st I hope today goes better than the last few!

Got on the scale this morning, I lost ten pounds so far!

I'm heading out soon, I need to run to the bank, Rite Aid and Petco. Back home afterward to work on some chores around the house. My youngest and I are going out to dinner tonight with her two best friends & their moms. Just us girls, should be fun! I need to squeeze a workout in somewhere too. Got on the scale this morning, I lost ten pounds so far!

Good morning MMC!! Happy Friday Eve!!! When I got to work this morning it was 62º, sunshine & breezy!! Feels a little chilly! But it's gorgeous!! Like made, we only have a high of 74º predicted for today!
I managed to get my peach salsa canned (10 pint + a little extra I put in the fridge) & I got to the grocery store, & back home to put things away before my hair cut/color at 6:45! Whew! Didn't get home from there til around 8:30 & around 9:45 I went downstairs to feed the fish & I thought the carpet felt damp! Sure enough, water had been slowly leaking out of the top of the filter, running down the wall & onto the carpet! We had some mold already on the trim wood. Grrrr! So we cleaned the filter up good, & got the carpet cleaner out. Cleaned the wood with vinegar, turned on a fan & the dehumidifier. It looks much better this morning, but I'll run the carpet cleaner over it again & clean some more with vinegar. Was not expecting that last night! Thank goodness we have a carpet cleaner!!! And thank goodness I went down there with bare feet last night! LOL!
