So cute!!! Of course I'm talking about Elizabeth!! ;)

I'm hoping their bite isn't toxic or poisonous?
Not really, but it hurts like the dickens. I drove through a web on the mower one day, and it bit me on the neck. I panicked and smooshed it on my neck (YUCK!). I had a big red, painful mark on my neck (not just from my hand) for a few days, but that's about it.

They more or less just make you hurt yourself LOL.

Morning all. Monday is a bit different for me this week. My Son Jonah was born late Sunday night. After a bit of a panic and about 20 doctors later he arrived into this world and he's perfect :D

Congrats, Tis!!!!! Wonderful news!!!!! Hope you enjoy his first holiday season with you!!

th
Yep . LOL

Ahhhhh!!! Very disturbing, Brad!
Glad you're okay.

Good Morning, Folks!

Onward and downward.
Marching forward. A goal in sight.
It gets closer....closer....closer.
Maybe not close enough to make it out yet, but we have the numbers to warn us of its proximity.

Days to the Season: 53
Days to Christmas Day: 95

Now down to barely over HALF A WEEK away from our next Milestone, the three-quarter Christmas Day marker.
And look at that Season number. Almost half way from 100 to ZERO.
(Wow!!)

Near perfect weather at the coast Saturday and Sunday and I got finished with what I needed to do. We will likely go over once more before winterizing the place.
Today has dawned here in the capital city at 69 degrees with the promise of clear skies and moderate temps.

Have a Marvelously Merry Monday, Everyone!
And I trust and hope that you week is off to a great start!

Thanks Crown--great numbers and great fun ahead!

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

My Sunday afternoon was filled with working on a project that my little brother started. He got a good deal on a used tractor implement that just needed a little work. We wound up at his shop for hours, covered in grease. And it still doesn't work. LOL

Maybe today will go better. I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Hope you got it working today-or closer to working!

Tomorrow will be my Monday since I had a six-day work week last week, I only have 4 days to work this week.

I have a four day work week too--but I take Thursday off. A little mid-week break. Gotta love weird work schedules!

Good morning, friends! I have been MIA here for quite sometime. Life has been pretty busy - I hope to be checking in more often now that it's slowing down a little. Hope all has been well with you guys! I think of you all often. Hope you all have a great Monday and a great start to your week!

Missed you sugar! So glad things are slowing down and you'll be back around more!

Good afternoon all

Good afternoon Irish Snow! Hope you're well!

Afternoon all or good morning to most!
Hey I just saw Home Alone is celebrating 25years!! I almost fell out of my chair!!
25 years???????? Is that right?? How on earth can it be 25 years!!!!!!!!!

HOW IN THE WORLD?! Oh my. I feel very old now!

Good morning, everyone!

I'm back teaching this morning. I have no teaching positions between now and Friday, but we'll see how it goes. For now, I will enjoy a fairly quiet day at Russell. I've already supplied for this teacher twice this year, and they are Grade 11/12, so I know them all quite well.

Overall, it was a fairly decent weekend. On Saturday, however, I had an awful incident which led to my phone becoming unusable. I had to purchase a new phone... and I really don't have too much money for that. Not a good situation, really.

As I mentioned, yesterday ended up being a really good day with a Packers victory. My only complaint was having to go through the day anticipating the game. It is one of the few reasons I do not enjoy Sunday Night Football games. I'm actually not a fan of losing almost an hour of sleep, too.

Well, I hope everyone has had a decent start to their week thus far. Something tells me that this will be quite the Milestone week here at MMC! Have a great Monday, everyone!

Happy Milestone Week, brent!

Well, off today without wheels. Took my car "Belvedere" into the autobody shop for what I thought was just a quick look-over, change oil, etc. my husband thought there was a problem with the shocks, I thought it was just something clunking in the trunk. He was right.
Crack in the shaft on the left, ball joint on the right is out of whack, lose wire on the block heater. Plus, both front tires need replacing since they've been working so hard at trying to stay straight that the treads are worn down. This is why I have my car serviced regularly. It's going to be just over $1,200.00 to repair everything (and yes, I trust my mechanic). Good news is they say they'll have it ready for me after 4 p.m.tomorrow. That's quick for all the work they need to do and the fact that they have a few other vehicles to work on as well as mine. I'm not happy with the unexpected costs, but at least I have the funds to cover it so I can get my car back on the road quickly.
Note to self: call back and tell them what kind of tires to put on my Belvedere. The ones on there are top notch and work well on these northern roads (no snow tires).

Oh no-so sorry! Glad you had the money to cover it and that they can fix it quickly--and that you trust your mechanic! A good one is hard to find these days.

Good Morning MMC Friends!
Booooo it's Monday! We can get through it though - it's only 24hrs, we got this!!!

I hope everyone had a blessed and relaxing weekend. It's been a lil bit since I've been on so I'm gonna try and catch up now.

Have a great day guys!!!

Hi LBK! I hope you are well!

Thank you!
Sorry to say, not much relaxation this weekend. Worked 6.5 hours Saturday and 9.5 hours yesterday, and spent the remaining few hours trying to get all my household stuff done that I usually do on the weekend. Today's my 8th consecutive day at the office without a day off. (It's getting to be like "Groundhog Day"---same routine every day!) About a month ago I scheduled this coming Friday as a day off---I hope I can keep it! We're so busy that people are having to postpone their vacations. I feel terrible for them.

We're busy too---must be the busy season. I took Thursday off, but that means today and Wednesday are busy busy busy. We'll get through it!!

Merry Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend. Ours was good..pretty low key. YesterdayView attachment 13485 my youngest daughter, Mia (she is 9) came with me grocery shopping and she picked out a little pumpkin. When we got home she asked if she could carve it so she did on her own with supervision of course. .lol So we lit is and put it on our front step. A little early but I knew you all would appreciate it!

Sorry it is to the side...but she made little fangs!! She loves anything spooky!

That is AWESOME!!! GO MIA!!!

Good morning MMC! Happy Monday!! I'm finally caught up! :D I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!!
We had a pretty festive weekend. There weren't many people at the lake & Jim went loafing with his dad on Saturday so my friend & I took off on a road trip to a home décor place way out in the country. I had only been there once before at Christmas so I wanted to see it with fall things. It was fantastic! I'll have to post some pics in a fall thread! On the way back to the lake we stopped for lunch & then stopped at a farmers market to pick up pumpkins & mums. Such a fun & festive day. Then we watched the Buckeyes with friends. Yesterday I wanted to make soup over the fire but we ended up having my hubby's family over to our house to celebrate my FIL's birthday (was Friday). We got some unbaked pizza's & made 1 on the grill & the other 2 in the oven. They were delicious! My SIL made cinnamon rolls & my MIL made a carrot cake & Jim & I made homemade ice cream... geez, what a feast!! We sat out on our patio. It was a nice day! I watched the Hallmark movie last night "Lead With Your Heart" - I thought it was good! A good way to end the weekend. Boooo!!
:snowball
Have a Merry Monday everyone!!

Have a merry evening!! Sounds fun!!! Next weekend is just 4 days away now!

I forgot to tell you guys about my date. We had to cancel our original date due to him having death in his family. :(
So we had to reschedule for this Saturday. I was soooo nervous - didn't know what to wear, didn't know what to do with my hair, got brows done and pedicure (do guys even notice??? - he did!!!) changed outfits like 40 times my oldest said I must have tried on every dress in my closet. Didn't want to appear to overdress like I was as the kids say "doin the most" didn't want to appear like I didn't care cuz I soooo cared. Picked a perfect dress I could dress up or down. I kept it casual - a little off the shoulders, cute sandals and makeup was a fresh look not dramatic. Took a cab to meet him (safety first - after all we did meet online!) and arrived a little ahead of him so I put our name on the list and five mins or so he arrived.

His online photo did him no justice. His is soooo handsome - blue eyes, salt 'n pepper hair (he's 44 -first time dating someone older than myself) and an athletic body. He was dress semi-casual - nice jeans and blue and white button down, nice shoes. He thought I was and I quote "Gorgeous!" and I blushed. Dinner conversation was very relax and enjoyable. My nerves melted and we laughed and laughed. We have soooo much in common - music, traveling, we both love war movies (he's a Veteran), similar situations with the closeness we have with our kids (each have 2 each). We were seated at 6:50ish and we were done by 7:40 so he asked if I had to get back home or did I want to continue (are you kidding!?!!!) and so he voided out the check he paid and we stayed for drinks and dessert, during which we decided to see a movie.

We saw the movie BLACK MASS - pretty good film. He drove me home (I felt comfy enough at this point). Upon walking me to my door he asked me out again for this Thursday which I played it cool and said "yes, I would like that very much" but I wanted to say "HAIL YEAH!!!" We've been talking and texting each other regularly since then. Sorry for the long message but can you tell that I'm excited??? Dating is rough and more times than not I've had some duds so to have a good one come along is awesome.

YAY LBK! That sounds wonderful!!! So happy it turned out well. Can't wait to hear about Thursday!

Good afternoon, MMC!
Hope that your Monday is going well.
Thoughts and prayers for you all!

OMGosh!!!! YES, I would freak out!!! But oh SF, to have witnessed that all go down!!! :ornarment :D (I would have got the spider for you - I may have had to hit you in the head with my shoe to get it, but I would have got it!!) LOL! YUCK! I'm glad you didn't get bit & I hope he's gone....and I hope you don't have nightmares!!! (I probably would) UGH

I would freak out too, Holiday and snowflake! YUCK. I freaked out at the screen!

I hope your chores & errands go well today!! Try to enjoy your busy day!!

Happy Monday, HmG!
It is a crazy morning!
Hope your errands, chores, and phone calls go well.

Thank you both!

Yes! I'm not typically too squeamish around spiders, unless they're large or potentially poisonous/toxic. With that being said, I saw the largest spider I've ever seen yesterday....and it was felt, as well-crawling on my head while I was driving on the highway :(
I had just left Ken's house, and just started driving (1/2 mile down the road) and I felt something crawling on the side of my head. I thought maybe a lady bug/beetle, etc. Nope....
I flipped out!! And screamed the most blood curdling scream I could muster up. I was doing 60 mph, so all I could do was throw my hair all about, and I could still see it getting closer to my face. I pulled over to the side of the highway, and jumped out. I must've looked like a crazed lunatic, either that or I decided to pull over to do some head banging. It was terrifying! I pulled myself together, not knowing where the spider was (under my clothes? on my back?), and pulled onto a less dangerous county road, and called Adrian to come help me. He checked my hair, car, and clothing. We couldn't find it. :confused:Talk about the longest drive home (85 miles), I kept thinking it was crawling on me. I was shaking, lol. It could still be in my car, for all I know. I did leave my windows cracked, hoping it would crawl out if so. It took up a large amount of space on the side of my head, it had long legs, thick, furry. No exaggeration. I believe it is either a fishing spider, or wolf spider.
This is what it looked like:

The above are photos of the species found in Wisconsin...I had no idea...

That is seriously not funny. I would have keeled over. I'm glad you're alright. Pretty sure I would have crashed my car!

We get a lot of these around here:

And this is why I'm really not an outdoorsy kind of girl!

Thank you both!

Thank you, HmG~!
It definitely still freaks me out, too. Feel like something is crawling all over me.
