Today my parents are celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary!!! I am beyond thrilled! They gave my brother and I a good life surrounded by love and support. What I got to witness was a loving couple who got along very well growing up. They have been the laid back type of couple who went with the flow and saw life in a humorous way instead of stressing on it all. I am very thankful to be raised by wonderful parents. Here's to many more years ahead!!!

Wow congrats on 50 years. These days it seems like 5 years is even a big thing. 50 is so impressive. I like their attitude. It's something I've tried to become more and more over the years and continue to strive to be like that (laid back go with the flow put things in perspective type).

Enjoy your long weekend! It IS going to be a chilly one!!! Time seems to be slipping away!! So much to do...
This weekend we have all outdoor activities planned on Saturday, which is not good considering the weather forecast! We are having a memorial tribute to our friend at the lake. We bought a plaque for her husband, & sun catchers for her 2 granddaughters & her son. We bought her favorite wine & we are going to have a toast to her after we give them their things. After that we are making wings on my BIL's big cooker & we will be cooking Smoked sausage Cabbage Potato Soup over the fire. We will have to start the soup early so we can make the fire big again to watch the Buckeye game outside on the big screen at 8:00! BRRRRR

Apparently my 86 year old mother thought she could. Ha ha! Took her longer than she thought too b/c she had to go all over the store for her few items. She had 2 little bags in the front of her cart...my cart was FULL! LOL I flew through that store!!

Are you a online shopper than during the holiday season or do you face the crowds? It's weird I like being in the mall during the holidays...but only to hang out and look more. I'd rather buy stuff online so there's no pressure being in the stores that time of year with the crowds.

Happy Thursday. The weather here is improving. Looking at the 10 day forecast, today is the last day with temps in the 70s. After that highs in the mid 60s, lows in the 30s with frost this weekend. Finally some fall weather.
Tomorrow our son comes home for 4 days on fall break. We have been waiting for him to come home to watch the 4th season of Longmire on Netflix. We will do some binge watching and see the whole season in a couple of nights, with no commercials. Also plan to sit by the fire pit grilling hotdogs and marshmallows in the evenings. Should be some good family time.

My mother and I were just talking about Walmart yesterday. The one she goes to closed down and she misses it. I'll have to find another for her.

Wow - I haven't heard of a Walmart closing down. As much as I dislike going there, I sure would miss it when I need it!! Hope you can find a new one for her!

Good morning everyone, Happy Thursday!
I just ordered a doggy stroller for Maggie, I'm so excited. I haven't been able to walk her because she can't tolerate the exercise with the collapsing trachea. I can't wait to talk her for walks again!
I'm heading out soon, I have a list of things that we need from Target. Back home afterward to exercise and work on some chores around the house. I'm making beef stew for dinner tonight, I've been craving it.

I love Ben Franklin too!! We did have a good night. I took her all over - we stopped at the lake on our way, so I took mostly back roads. Roads she hasn't been on for a long time! It was nice. I also bought her 2 pumpkins at Bens & set them on her front porch (she thought they were for me) I never told her, so I'm wondering how long it will take her to notice them. Hee hee!

He has been doing pretty well. Last week was a good week for him.
When he first got out of the hospital, we were very concerned.
Each day there are new challenges, but with prayer and caring family/friends checking in, he's finding his own way again.
He was asked to speak at a school a few hours away, and so he attended that on his own, and felt productive and really enjoyed his time there.
Thank you for thinking of him.

So glad to hear Ken is improving. Keeping him in my thoughts & prayers. That's awesome he was able to attend the school by himself! xx

Clear, calm, sunny and dry yesterday. Moderate temps, too.
(We really appreciate the few days in the fall and spring when it's really nice like this.)

29 Days to the Christmas Season? Something tells me that tomorrow is somewhat of a special day with that count.

Also, I think this means that we have four weeks from tonight when we will be counting down in real-time for the Christmas Season?! Initially, I thought it was on a Friday, but it appears that I was incorrect.

I am back at Russell today. I have nothing here for tomorrow yet, but I am hoping that there will be an opening to slide in tomorrow.

It's a typical dreary, mid-October day in Canada's Capital today. Temperatures are into double digits (50s) with a chance of rain. The next couple days have a chance of rain.

Last night was decent. It was great to see the Blue Jays comeback victory over the Texas Rangers. What an emotional game! ...and the Blue Jays are not even my favourite MLB team!

Aside from the gym and a quick run, I don't think I have many plans this evening. Hopefully it will be relatively quiet.

Are you a online shopper than during the holiday season or do you face the crowds? It's weird I like being in the mall during the holidays...but only to hang out and look more. I'd rather buy stuff online so there's no pressure being in the stores that time of year with the crowds.

I am mostly an online shopper all year b/c I don't love going out shopping - except at Christmas!! I love going to stores at Christmas! But I seem to have better luck shopping for presents online (and that keeps my hubby in business too - hee hee!) but sometimes I stumble across things in a store that will make a perfect present.
This year I need to find a dress for my nephews wedding & I was just thinking I need to find that BEFORE our neighborhood Christmas shopping trip b/c I don't want to be shopping for THAT when I'm on a Christmas shopping trip. LOL!

That is very frustrating especially after having it fixed, you wouldn't expect any more problems. I hope they can sort it out quickly. No hot water is a major inconvenience!!
