I'm getting more and more excited and can not wait to get the tree! Have been working on a small quilt for the ornament exchange and love working on it. Will start next year's project sooner!

I'm sure the quilt is coming along very beautifully!!
Are you getting a fresh tree? I just love that smell!! Heaven.

It's really starting to feel like the holidays are coming (even though it's warm). Think its the whole leaving work and it's already getting dark thing.

The Season is, indeed, drawing close. Another sign hit me today - you know, aside from being less than 10 days to the Christmas Season tomorrow.

I witnessed my first (two) Christmas commercial(s) of the year a few moments ago!! Arguably, I witnessed a Best Buy Christmas commercial on Saturday night, but it was barely Christmas and only mentioned something about "Holiday" shopping. I'm sure they'll have a more Christmas oriented one shortly.

As for my first commercial, it was the new Coca Cola commercial! Great commercial, much in thanks to having "Baby, Please Come Home" playing in the background. It really brightened my spirits! The second one was for Swiss Chalet, a nationwide chicken-specialty restaurant. It was basically the same as they have had over the past few years.

I haven't had time to look, but I hope you've all seen the Coke commercial already!

The old technology talk is making me smile. My son asked me what a VCR was the other day! He was so confused when I told him. He also came across an old mixed tape in my keepsake box. Held it up like it was a prehistoric artifact. He had no idea what it was!

He also saw an old rotary phone on TV recently and wanted to know how it worked without buttons or a touch pad.

I have an old rotary phone. We were cleaning out my wife's grandparents house and my fil was going to toss it in the garbage, and I grabbed and said dibbs.....I love that kind of stuff~

I'm still stoked that Star Trek is coming back to TV!!

Oh yea! I'm itching to see some kind of a pre-view/ trailer/ leak, etc.... Although it is supposed to be on this like CBS on demand thing for 5.00 per month or something like that, I would pay for it. Especially now!!!! I even heard today that that station/ channel is playing all of the old Star Trek series as well right now!

I still have a box full of 8-tracks, and a working player (in storage). I wore out three Boston tapes in my mom's Pontiac Catalina!

And we still have a VCR in the living room. A LOT of our family videos are still on VHS. I have to do something about that.

I 86ed my 8 tracks, cassette tapes and half of the albums that I had before we moved. I also got rid of my Atari system and all the games I had (it still worked).... down sizing can sometimes bring a sniffle and a tear to ones eye..... Especially if your a pack rat like myself~

Well, I took down all my Halloween decorations this evening, but still left some Fall stuff out. Now it's that in between time to gear up for Christmas!!!!

Qbert? PacMan? Asteroids? Those were the days...I was probably 5/6 years old playing Atari. Miss it.

I held onto my rotary phone as long as I could before the touch-tone buttons became so necessary to access menus. I liked the old-fashioned look and preferred to hear a bell.
(I still feel a phone should ring, not shriek!)

it can be hard to let them go, but your raised them right and taught them how to be safe, now you have to believe they learned well. I had to learn the same lessons with mine....they are all still alive and happy !
