Good morning. I'm just the opposite. We had a brutal summer. Much too hot and humid. Fall has also been a disappointment weather wise. Hopefully we have a very cold winter with lots of snow.

How much snow do you normally get in NC?

** CHRISTMAS SEASON DAY 6 **



Good Morning, Folks.

Just a couple more days to go to complete a full week of Christmas Season 2015.
And just ONE more day to go to reach the final Milestone on our 2015 Marker Chart.

Days to Thanksgiving: 8 (ONE WEEK FROM TOMORROW!!)
Days to Christmas Day: 37 (Nearly down to FIVE weeks!)

And that final Milestone?
Well it's the 90 percent Home Stretch point to Christmas Day and it's TOMORROW!
Then, with ALL of our Milestones behind us, it will be clear sailing on to Christmas!


Pleasant temps yesterday with no rain. Today should be even better and we are supposed to crack 70, but should get rain late today and tomorrow.
We stand just under 57 degrees here at this hour.

Oh, it is! I remember bits and pieces of the verses, and the pictures. There were three little angels: Pigtails, Crewcut, and little Touslehead. Now I want to ransack our storage boxes to see if I still have it! If I can find it, I'll store it with our Christmas stuff. Or maybe it's already there ... if so, I'll find it next week!

Just for fun I Googled the book last night. Amazing the prices it is getting, even when it's in so-so condition! I wouldn't sell mine, though! I also remember another book by the same author and illustrator: "Davey and the First Christmas," I think it was. I don't remember anything about the story, except I think he had a stubborn little donkey. I don't think I have that one anymore ...

Now you have me wanting to read those books! LOL

My parents made fruitcake that friends and neighbors BEGGED for, believe it or not! When MMC had blogs, I wrote a blog about it. They always made fruitcakes on Thanksgiving Day, so they could "mature" wrapped up in the refrigerator until near Christmas. So our oven was full of fruitcakes each Thanksgiving instead of turkey!

That's how my parents made them! Except the cloth was soaked in wine.

I remember you shared the recipe with me!! And I tried making them once - unfortunately I made them in little pans & I over-baked them! And then I had them in the fridge in wine soaked cloth, but I let the cloth dry out a couple times!! The flavor was still amazing, but I want to try again - NOT over-baking & being better about setting reminders to keep the cloths moist!!! It was a fun project though!

Holiday this is amazing! Such a fun idea and the Brew Barn looks so friendly.

It is a fun/nice place! It's always busy! Their newest brew is Blackberry - very tasty!!

I am planning on making some tonight. I have some raw cocoa so I will be making it from scratch. I am making more work for myself but it is worth it!

It was quite late. I have at least one more day (after today) this week. Four full days of teaching! Not bad. Tomorrow would be idea, too. Next week, I already have two days booked (Tuesday and Friday). Hopefully at least two more days come about!

I'm glad you got a call today - hoping for tomorrow too. Hope you are able to stay awake today!!

Thank you! They are in flight again! Should be at the airport in about 1 hr 15 Minutes & at Moms house in 2 hrs. 45 min! Always good to see them! I'm not sure about our plans of homemade pizza's on the grill, & a bonfire tonight b/c of the weather...might have to come up with plan B!
