I cooked supper for Nancy's mom & dad, since her mom is still unable to get around from the burns she got a couple weeks ago. Mrs. Hilda is pretty famous around here for being an awesome southern-style cook, with the consensus being that she's much better than Paula Dean. She seldom compliments other people's cooking LOL! So you can imagine my surprise when she said that my dinner was a good as what she could do! High praise, indeed! :D

Good morning everyone!

It's gonna be 90 degrees here in MD today...and it looks like it will be hanging around through the weekend. Which is better than it being rainy or chilly because our church has it's annual picnic on Sunday so I'm actually glad the weather will at least cooperate.

This morning was day 2 of our new morning routine and it was a close one. Lizzybeth over slept even after she told me last night that she set her alarm. She puddled around once she finally did get up and worried about everything under the sun except getting out on time. When she finally started to put things in motion she realized there was a good chance that she was going to get left behind and she went into hyper over drive. The only thing I did do for her was pour her some OJ so she could take her medicine and I put a ponytail in her hair. Other than that I focused on getting myself out on time. London was right along sided me ready to leave when who should run past us and down the drive way??? You guessed it! Only to get part of the way and realize that she left her new lock for her gym locker on her dresser and out of love London ran back to get it for her. We parted ways with several "have a good day". No yelling, no prodding, no worrying about this that or the other. We'll see if day 3 is any better.

At work today I brought in a birthday card and one of my homemade zucchini breads for a coworker. Nothing special about that except me and this particular coworker have not been getting along lately. We aren't rude to one another it's just there was opinions about a situation that we didn't see eye to eye on about a month or so ago and we've stopped being as chatty as we once were. No one remembered that this weekend was her birthday and since she took Friday off today was the last chance our small practice would get to say a Happy Birthday to her all together. I'm hoping that this will begin to mend fences. Tonight is bible study and prayer at church and that's about it.

I'm heading out soon, my daughter and I are going to pick up a book that was backordered at her college campus. We're going to stop at Staples afterward for some school supplies. It's another hot and humid day in Canada's Capital. I don't have a whole lot planned today. I brought some hockey jerseys in this morning to receive a logo and numbers. Our season begins next week. Hopefully the jerseys will be ready by then. If they are not, at least we have backups.

As for now, I have a bit of laundry to finish. I think I will go to the gym before 3. I also have my final fantasy football draft this evening. It's amazing that the NFL Season begins tomorrow. It will be great to see the NFL return!

Well, it's about lunch time. Hopefully everyone is having a great Wednesday. Looking forward to celebrate the 'Bers and the fact that we are nearing single digits away from reaching double double digits in the Christmas Countdown!

Monsoon season in Vegas was beautiful to us because we missed the rain, I couldn't ever get used to the monotonous weather. I missed four seasons, and loved seeing the cloud cover & getting a bit of rain.
 
Yesterday: Oh, yeah, Monday was a holiday, so it's already Tuesday!
Today: It's only Wednesday? Really? Ugh ...

Today is wearing me out ... seems like everything I do today is in multiple versions! A brochure with four slightly varying versions, an ad with two different headlines, another ad with alternate copy, etc. I'm starting to see double. And my co-worker is showing some attitude today, rolling her eyes when I have a basic question that needs an answer before I can proceed. Now I'm waiting for something that has to go out today, so I will probably be late getting out. (Okay, I'll stop moaning now.) I'm glad that tomorrow is Thursday.

Nothing like a relaxing night at the Pines. I'm kinda of afraid to try Carl's New blend though. It looks good but he won't tell me what's in it.
