Have a great weekend NcGunny!

Happy Friday everyone!! My Friday just go interesting. I had taken my daughter in on Wednesday to Urgent Care because she was complaining of her neck being sore and being hard to breathe and swallow. Rapid strep result came back negative, so the did a Mono test. That came back positive. We were given a prescription to help ease the swelling of her glands as she gets over Mono. Then I get a phone call today from the clinic saying that her strep culture came back negative! She looked really worn our yesterday (she went to school) and got up late today so I kept her home from school today. Kind of glad I did now, with that phone call from the clinic. The Mrs has family coming into town this weekend for a couple hockey games (They are from across the state.) Plus we were going to watch the local high school girls hockey game (My daughter wants to play hockey for them.) Guess my daughter isn't going to be going to the hockey games then. I'm not really positive I will be either. She is 13 (14 in March) and has a phone so she could get a hold of me if needed, but I'm not sure if I'll be comfortable leaving her at home alone.

On a positive note, my calf has gotten better each day. I ran a couple days ago and while it was still sore, I could run albeit at a much slower pace than I prefer, but I'm not pushing it. The heating pad at night has been helping.

To all our biddies ( Prancer :p) on the east coast, stay safe and warm. To everyone else not affected by storms this weekend, have a great weekend!!

Merry Friday Sean.....sorry to hear about your daughter! Poor thing...strep is terrible enough and add mono to it she must be exhausted. Hope she is better soon! Good news about your calf! Enjoy your weekend!

So sorry to hear your daughter is sick Sean. Praying for her recovery. I know what you mean, I would be the same and stay and want to stay close to.

Good news that your calf is improving. Take care and hope everyone heals over the weekend.

One box of items washed, tagged and ready to be displayed. Still a lot to do so I had best get going. Not sure if I will have time to pop on later tomorrow, so I will wish all of you a safe and MERRY weekend!
Hope you have a safe & MERRY weekend, too! Stay cozy! *Hugs to Palmer*

She looks so comfy! =]

Dinner and dishes over. I am so glad it is Saturday tomorrow and I don't have to be back and forth walking the kids to school. I wanted to wake up early and surprise everyone with freshly baked winter spice muffins in the morning but I am having so much pain at the moment, I will have to see. Hopefully the meds I got from the chemist will make a difference by morning. I don't want my saturday spent feeling under the weather.

Hope you guys are wrapping up at work soon and ready for your Friday night!

I do the same thing Merry (buying the less expensive yarn) - I have ripped out a project or 2, but I have several started that some day I hope to finish. 1 being the snowflake afghan you sew together. I don't know why I started that (other than it's beautiful!) b/c I really dislike sewing pieces together. LOL
Sometimes I will sew pieces together as I go, say a strip at a time. Then I don't have to do it all at once---I can go back to the fun part, the crochet---and I get an idea of how it will look and how it will come together.

I'll often do one-piece afghans in the winter, when I can enjoy the warmth as the afghan grows, and do pieced afghans in the summertime, so I don't have something large and warm on top of me when it's hot. (Can't always time 'em to finish at the right time, though!) I also like to do winter hats in the summertime for the same reason.

We had a head start on that already, with fired Twinkies at the Shispering Pines! Hey, some of our best traditions begin with typos! Remember, that's how NORAD began tracking Santa! :D

Ok then Prancer is adding to the vocabulary then! Anyway, I thinks it adds to the over all atmosphere of the forums. Don't apologize about it, Prancer, I think it's great!
