Just lost another person a very close friend of ours he just hit the floor yesterday morning and bam he's gone at 47... I just don't understand it I go to church every week practice my catholic faith as best as I can but sometimes I just wonder about it all .. He left a wife a 6 year old son and an 19 year old son . Sorry to vent but this is my refuge from the real cruel world ... Just hope we're all heading to someplace greater, that's what I'm lead to believe but sometimes I wonder if gone is just gone .......
Hope you have a wonderful day, friend!Happy Sunday! We got a total of about 12 inches or so. It wil be a quiet day for us catching up on laundry and my daughter is supposed to have a soccer game at 6 tonight so we will go to that. Hope you all have a blessed day! View attachment 19082
Beautifully stated, Heather.Ron - I am so sorry for the loss of your friend and my heart and prayers go out to you, and his family and friends.
I will sum up the question you're feeling this way... Love is not something which can be seen with the naked eye. We see it in the actions of others, but in its own explanation of existence there is none. No one has yet truly determined if it generates from the mind or the heart. We refer to the heart as a point of love, but even that is not accurate as it's merely a muscle which functions without conscious effort.
We say "heart" because when you feel Love it seems to radiate from the chest and solar plexus. It's where you also feel the pain of loss, worry and fear for those whom you love. This is where we coin phrases like, "My heart is broken," "Heartache," or "I have a feeling in the pit of my stomach."
You know you love your family, you know you love your friends, and you know when someone loves you. You don't believe it, you KNOW it. We don't say, "I believe I love you." We say, "I love you." You know it. It cannot be disputed.
None of this can be seen or measured with any known caliber in mankind's tools. Since no one can prove its existence with a device, does that then negate what you feel for your child/children, parents or spouse? No. It does not.
Love is real. It is what perpetuates mankind to do good. To be compassionate, to help others, to care for others and when it is reciprocated, you feel cherished, important and worthy of this life. It's what drives us all.
The world seems cruel when people choose not to act from Love, but from greed and fear. Though fortunately Love will always outweigh, conquer and eliminate greed and fear. It's the proverbial Superman of the SuperHero friends. Negativity is its only kryptonite. You can weaken it, but you can't kill it, and when you shift the negativity, you better back up Jack, because Love can and will move mountains.
Love and the soul are one. When you feel Love, you feel your soul or the soul of others. It is quite real and does not pass away with the body. This does not require a belief in any one particular god, denomination or religion. It simply IS. Every human on the planet has the ability to love and be loved. Now, how we choose to follow those paths of belief in life can direct our way after passing, but we all come in with the same capacity and choices.
When someone we love passes, while we feel the horrible heavy loss of their missing physical presence, that Love is still very much alive and we can feel it around us still ever-present in our daily walk. It is not our memory of how we felt when they were with us physically. It is the actual, living presence of their love and soul ever connected to us - and that my friend, never dies.
Much love to you and your family.

I feel the same about counting down to Christmas, so glad you made it through the storm ok
I said it before, if this place was only about how many posts we can get in I would not come here any more, I am so glad it is not. It is the most wonderful and friendly forum I have ever had the honour to be a part of. You have all become a special part of my life, thank you !
Here here!! *raises coffee mug in toast*Thanks star. And you're right the amount of posts is impressive BECAUSE of the sincere quality of them and interest in this thread. People come here and post so much because they WANT to not to break records etc. We break records only because of genuine interest in the Christmas season, this awesome thread and the awesome people who come here. Makes us want to come here more and more...
Poor girl! I'm so sorry. Hope it goes quickly. Hate those cones for them. There is just no way to make them understand to leave sutures alone or anything else medical for their good. They sit there looking at you with disdain like you did it just to be mean. :-(Penny did have the cone off, but it is back on because one dissolving stitch refuses to dissolve and she was pulling on it causing some bleeding. Thought it would be safer to keep on the cone until the stitch is gone.
And long movies. And tea!
Amen, sistah!I said it before, if this place was only about how many posts we can get in I would not come here any more, I am so glad it is not. It is the most wonderful and friendly forum I have ever had the honour to be a part of. You have all become a special part of my life, thank you !

That's the way to do it! I keep my yarn and what I'm working on right next to the sofa. The yarn for what I'm working on, plus some scraps, are in a big popcorn tin with a Christmas motif that sits at my feet. I also have a storage ottoman right there with a yarn winder and some patterns and other crochet-related things inside. In the same room I have a small shelving unit where I keep yarn and patterns and crochet books. Everything I need is right at my fingertips or a few steps away! (Wow, do you think I may be a crochet addict??Merry - I need to put my bag of yarn right by the couch so I just pick it up when I sit down so I can practice more. I always buy a skien or two at close-out stores so I have different types and textures to practice with, drop them in therethen forget about them. LOL
Hope the heater gets a break!! LOLWe are going to get above freezing today!!! Woohoo!!!! Maybe my heat will finally get a break for a few hours!!

Thanks, friend. My head is feeling much better. Harlowe seems to be doing pretty well, I think the antibiotics cleared up the bump on her lip. However it is still pink in that area, so keeping a close eye on it. We are saving up for the dental surgery, so hopefully that will help her too. PreventativeWoohoooo *happy dance* I caught up! LOL
Hope everyone is fairing well today in snowy areas.
Snowflake hope your headache is better. Is Harlowe doing well now? Did the antibiotics clear up everything?
Festive - loved the shut down on electronics the other night! I had just asked Bud the other night if he knew of anyone who still played boardgames with their kids. We did with Noah, but most of them were my old games from childhood. Life, Parcheesi, Othello, Checkers, Chess, Trouble, Scrabble, PayDay, Monopoly, Boggle, Pictionary, Risk, Battleship and Chinese Checkers. LOL
Holiday hope all your surgical friends are doing well. Sorry about the viewing, but glad it went well for your mom.
