Christmas Countdown - 2016

Good morning!

Praying for all!

It is a cold one here today, and it is only going to get colder. Ugh!

While I was working yesterday I heard what sounded like chainsaws running. Figured there was a tree down/about to come down along the road close by that would be a danger so it was being taken care of right away. Turns out that one of my neighbors plowed the driveway! I have no idea who did it, but I thank them so much!!! Such a lovely surprise.

Roads are still icy. Apparently all the county did is plow, no salt, solution or sand has been put down, at least in the areas I have heard about. My road was scraped down to the pavement, but there are still several isolated icy spots. Hope the salt trucks are out and about today!

The only damage I have seen around the yard is one pine tree branch down. There are heavy clumps of wet snow on most trees ~ might be a lot more damage before all is said and done.

About to start work, so I will bid all of you a safe and merry day.

We are now having a break in the series of storms that have hit here. It is dry and beautiful out today but very cold and expected to drop severely by next week along with Arctic winds and freezing fog.

Love the name of your plant! My cacti are named Edgar and Edwina. Edgar has been here for over 20 years, but he doesn't bloom very much ~ he likes his sunny spot and apparently that is not conducive to flowering. Edwina, a rescue from Wally's, is blooming for the second time in three months. She is very happy!

How kind of a neighbor to plow your driveway, there are some real wonderful people out there, and they obviously know you are one of those, too.

It amazes me that places like where we live can be lackluster with the roads. Hope they are salted and/or sanded soon. Take care.

Just hard to see her losing weight & trembling from being weak, I just want to say "eat, sweetie" You'll become stronger.

Nope, no meds have been attempted since the vet. But the vets orders were no meds until she's eating regularly, and become stronger, again. She said we'd asses the situation when that happens, and will be calling me at the end of the week.

Thank you for the hugs, Monday can't come soon enough!

It is heart breaking to hear so I know it is incredibly hard on you to see her like that. ((((Hugs))) Praying for a miracle Stacey. I have everything crossed (plus prayers) that she eats more today.

I am feeling fine. I am noticing a reduction in the swelling and size and the pain isn't as wide spread now but at one point so this is a good sign. Thank you for keeping me on your prayers and thoughts.

Good Thursday Morning MMC! Believe it or not Nitro had to stay overnight at the hospital. He went in to be checked on a few minor issues he's had and wound up having a seizure at the Dr. They said it could be he was due to being there and he was upset/nervous. He hasn't had a seizure in 2 months so what's the odds he suddenly had one when he arrived there? Anyway they calmed him down but he got a little touch of pneumonia from it. He had that before too after a seizure. His breathing wasn't 100% so they wanted to keep him on oxygen to help him hopefully breathe better in the next day or 2 so that he can come home. Dr. said we could bring him home yesterday (he was already doing better) but it was safer to keep him on the oxygen for a day or 2 (hopefully). I miss him lol. Telling you we are major dog people on MMC. I could never move anywhere where they won't allow me to have a dog in my lifetime. Other than that I hope Harlowe does better today snowflake. I hope everyone at MMC has a good Thursday. I hope those of us bracing for the bitter cold are prepared. And above all I hope we make it to Friday so we can get excited for our weekend!

Thanks HMG! I definitely miss him not being around. My brother visited him yesterday and he seemed to be ok. You can just hear a cold he got when he breathes some.

Good morning MMC! Happy, Happy Friday Eve! TGIFE!!!

Thanks everyone for all the prayers for mom, SIL & sis. SIL is home with help from Visiting Angels. Mom is in ICU. My sis was there already this morning & says she is maybe a teeny bit better. She had a sleepless night again b/c of all the coughing. Poor thing. Emergency room doc says this is caused from heart failure, not pneumonia - heart pumping so fast, but not hard enough to remove fluid from the lungs, so he did not put her on any antibiotics. Cardiologist was in later last night - he says it's bronchitis & the illness brought on a-fib. We are going with the cardiologist diagnosis! Bronchitis sounds better than heart failure to me! He ordered a breathing treatment & started her on IV antibiotics. He was in again this morning - recommends steroids through IV or in breathing treatment, but that will be her family docs call. Hopefully family doc is making rounds early this am!! xx And hopefully she improves today!!! xx Thanks again. Really appreciate all the thoughts & prayers!!

1 week ago, my wife delivered a baby girl, 8 pounds and 10 ounces. Her name is Mary, named after my Grandmother. Here's a picture of her from her new born photoshoot.

She is my heart. I have never been this happy.

I'm a shoe collector (140 pairs), so my wife thought it would be a cute picture. I agree.

It's difficult when doctors don't agree on diagnoses. Like you, I would go with the cardiologist. A specialist usually knows his game!
