Good to hear that Festive...Whats on the menu tonite Festive?...Yeah can't believe tomorrow is the last day of the working week woo-hoo...Enjoy your evening ahead Festive:)
Thank you.
I am shattered these days so nothing special tonight. Hot Beef with mushrooms and red onions in Paninis. I may do some chips on the side.
I love casserole and it is perfect for this cold weather! Enjoy your meal and your evening too P.

Thank you so much M,
It was so nice of someone to plough your front yard! I hope you stay safe and warm throughout the harsh weather and the disruption it is causing. Hope your brother is well after the accident. Continued prayers for him and you.

We are now having a break in the series of storms that have hit here. It is dry and beautiful out today but very cold and expected to drop severely by next week along with Arctic winds and freezing fog.

Thank you again.

You're welcome, Festive.
I'm still beaming over the driveway being plowed ~ so kind and thoughtful of whoever. :)
Thank you so much for the prayers! Be safe in the upcoming weather ~ praying that conditions aren't too bad out your way.
Continued prayers for recovery for you ~ so glad you are seeing improvement! xx

You're very welcome, friend.
How is he feeling?
Continued prayers for him and you.

Thank you for the prayers and strength, I really need them right now. Bless you.

Hugs to you & Palmer ❤️
xx

I talked to him this morning and he said he was better than yesterday. Thank you for asking and for the prayers!
My prayers for you and sweet Harlowe continue. (((HUGS))) xx

Stay safe & warm, friend~

How kind of a neighbor to plow your driveway, there are some real wonderful people out there, and they obviously know you are one of those, too.

It amazes me that places like where we live can be lackluster with the roads. Hope they are salted and/or sanded soon. Take care.

Hope you have a Merry day ❤️

Me, too!
You stay safe and warm, too, my friend! xx

Good Thursday Morning MMC! Believe it or not Nitro had to stay overnight at the hospital. He went in to be checked on a few minor issues he's had and wound up having a seizure at the Dr. They said it could be he was due to being there and he was upset/nervous. He hasn't had a seizure in 2 months so what's the odds he suddenly had one when he arrived there? Anyway they calmed him down but he got a little touch of pneumonia from it. He had that before too after a seizure. His breathing wasn't 100% so they wanted to keep him on oxygen to help him hopefully breathe better in the next day or 2 so that he can come home. Dr. said we could bring him home yesterday (he was already doing better) but it was safer to keep him on the oxygen for a day or 2 (hopefully). I miss him lol. Telling you we are major dog people on MMC. I could never move anywhere where they won't allow me to have a dog in my lifetime. Other than that I hope Harlowe does better today snowflake. I hope everyone at MMC has a good Thursday. I hope those of us bracing for the bitter cold are prepared. And above all I hope we make it to Friday so we can get excited for our weekend!
Hope everyone at MMC is well today!

Aw, poor Nitro. Praying he is better soon!

Good Morning, All.

Hey. Milestone Day tomorrow!

Today's numbers, ready for reading:
Days to the Season: 276
Days to Christmas Day: 318

And as alluded to, we will be ONE QUARTER of the way through the journey back to our beloved Christmas Season as of tomorrow!
(Incredible though that may seem to be.)

Relentlessly cold here and it will stay that way at least through this weekend.
(Believe me, I'm quite ready for Spring!)
We have commenced this latest February installment at 22 degrees here in central North Carolina.

Have a Thrilling Thursday, as we approach yet another Weekend Eve!

Thank you, Crown! You have a Thrilling Thursday!

Thank you so much Meceka, I really appreciate the prayers. I hope you have a wonderful day. Stay safe and keep warm ♥

You're welcome, HmG. How are Bentley and your other cats doing? I miss reading about them. :)
xx

Walked out of work into a balmy 20° and those big fluffy snow flakes falling. Almost made the beginning of my weekend seem okay.Hope everyone has a good work day today.

Enjoy the snow!

Good morning MMC! Happy, Happy Friday Eve! TGIFE!!! :)

Thanks everyone for all the prayers for mom, SIL & sis. SIL is home with help from Visiting Angels. Mom is in ICU. My sis was there already this morning & says she is maybe a teeny bit better. She had a sleepless night again b/c of all the coughing. Poor thing. Emergency room doc says this is caused from heart failure, not pneumonia - heart pumping so fast, but not hard enough to remove fluid from the lungs, so he did not put her on any antibiotics. Cardiologist was in later last night - he says it's bronchitis & the illness brought on a-fib. We are going with the cardiologist diagnosis! Bronchitis sounds better than heart failure to me! He ordered a breathing treatment & started her on IV antibiotics. He was in again this morning - recommends steroids through IV or in breathing treatment, but that will be her family docs call. Hopefully family doc is making rounds early this am!! xx And hopefully she improves today!!! xx Thanks again. Really appreciate all the thoughts & prayers!!

Have a Fantastic Friday Eve my friends!!!

I hope everyone is well and has a nice day. Hugs & prayers for all.

Good Thursday morning, my Christmas friends!

It's crisp & cold this morning. I ground a fresh bag of coffee to bring to work, and, I'm telling you, it's hard to beat!

There are many concerns here on MMC lately, and I'm praying for all of you. I'd appreciate continued prayers for my brother's health. He's too stubborn to take care of himself properly.

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Continued prayers for your brother and you, Brad. xx

Happy Friday Eve! Not up too much today...just working and I am going out to dinner w/ a couple of Moms tonight at this Irish bar. It is fundraiser for my daughter's middle school. Have a great day!! Almost to the weekend!

Sounds like a fun night on tap for you. :)

Praying hard here for your Mom,sis and sil Holiday...(((Huggs)))

Greetings all! I am so behind on posts. Everything is a mad house around here and it's left me no time to even read through things.

I was able to ready through the past several pages and my heart just broke for some of you over the past week's events. I am so sorry about the storms, dogs' health issues, car accidents.... my goodness. :( I will be praying for everyone!

. . .

On our side of things - also on Friday evening, while walking Moose, our Shepherd-Lab mix, I noticed a dark bloody spot on his testicles.
. . .
Saturday late afternoon, he was walking past me and it was sooooo much worse. Not sure what caused it, but it was awful. I flipped out and asked Bud to call Derrik. Derrik is one of our closest friends and thankfully, one of the best veterinarians in our county. I was so worried he would need stitches in this delicate area. Derrik asked us to send pictures.

So.... let me ask you - have you ever tried to hold down a huge, young, strong male dog against his will on a very tall, four poster, king size bed, while your spouse tries to take pictures and video of the dog's private region?

Yeah, that was my first go round with that even too. It looked like something that should have been a slap-stick performance in an old National Lampoon movie. Especially because this dog - he has been hand raised in this house. Born in this house, bottle fed by us, because his mother couldn't produce milk, travels with us, is adored, and lives where the concept of having to fight for anything is entirely foreign to him. He has no comprehension that people can be cruel, food can be scarce or that some dogs never get to sleep on soft cushy things or one would not have a tug, chew or ball at their disposal. He's never been ill and other than occasionally having to remove a tick or get his vaccinations, he's never had anyone try to manhandle him for anything against his will. This dog thought the entire thing was a game.

He has this huge, long, thick swishy tail. If I could figure out a way to spray Pledge on the end and train him, he could dust all the shelves in no time flat. The dog is upside down, on my bed, with his front paws hooked over my bicep and forearm and bathing my face in excited playful licks with his massive tongue, while continually thrashing side to side at the waist trying to see what Bud was doing and his tail is just wagging happily, completely blocking any hope of a camera shot. Bud would catch his tail and hold it down, but Moose would snake it out, and Bud didn't want to hold him too hard as we were concerned it cause the tear to worsen. An hour and a half. It was the weirdest MMA battle ever.
. . .

So it's now Thursday and the wound looks substantially better. He does not seem the least bit bothered by it at all. Sunday was the only day he paid any attention to it. I personally think that perhaps some infection has started to settle in as whimpered several times while just laying there and was more attentive to it. Thankfully though - everything looks great now. Hope he continues to heal up easily.

I will continue to pray for everyone and hope that your week is greatly improved!

Good to see you, Greywolf!
Aw, your poor friend ~ so hard to lose a pet. Keeping her in prayer.
Praying that Moose continues to improve ~ he sounds like such a sweetie! Quite an ordeal to get the photos/video, but the way you put it made me laugh a bit. You really have a way with words!
Alligators! Do you have any pictures of them in your yard? That has to be scary!!Do they lurk or are they out in the open? Being from MI, it is hard to even imagine having them around!
xx

I'm so sorry to hear that, Edge. Poor guy. Lots of prayers being sent up for Nitro.
Please keep us posted. *Hugs* to you.

Thank you for the well wishes, no luck this morning and she didn't eat anything throughout the night either. Trembling again, too. I just don't understand what's going on. You would think the meds would be out of her system by now, why isn't she eating. And when she does, it has to give her a little strength.

Hope you can have a good Friday Eve, thinking of you.

Aw, poor sweetie. Sending love, strength and hugs your way, snowflake. (((HUGS)))

Yes, on a normal day she typically eats her dry food, a few pieces of duck jerky, and a few chicken chips throughout the day. She also likes a little shredded cheese.
Once in awhile for something different, we'll offer her some [baby food] chicken gravy, chicken, pork, or steak. Some of the time she will turn her nose up at them, and just eventually eat her "normal food".
Since she's been sick and not wanting food, I've offered her a homemade chicken, rice, carrot meal from my friend who cooks it for her dog with a sensitive stomach.
And I've offered a sensitive stomach wet food recommended by the vet. Also some chicken gravy, turkey gravy, her usual cheese, hard food, duck, chicken chips, etc.
What has worked twice was the boiled chicken breast, she ate a little of that.
I made some more last night, and she took two bites, and then was done.
Reggie brought over some meatballs and tried that (we're trying anything at this point) and she wasn't interested. I plan to try boiling some hamburger tonight, and trying that.
She ate boiled hamburger and boiled chicken when very sick before. Hoping something works soon, because she's getting weaker by the moment. It's so frustrating, and breaking my heart.
I'm going to pick up some lunch meat that my Mom hand feeds her, she enjoys that. But only when Mom gives it to her, because I bought it after I knew she liked it, but wasn't interested when Grandma wasn't there to feed it to her. But again, it's worth a shot!

I was going to suggest baby food. If she is taking water, you could thin out the baby food and have her drink a bit. When Trapper was having his spells, I would give him water and honey. He loved it (he had a sweet tooth!) and it kept him going until he could eat. Have you tried yogurt?
xx

Thank you!
We're both going to see her in early March and see if we like her and if she can do the dental work we need and work out payments. It's just for a consultation---neither of us has any painful problems at the moment. I need a crown done pretty soon on an implant that's already in place.

Does Edgar ever get purplish leaves? One of Laura's "daughters" that was on a windowsill at the office turned purplish because it was getting direct sunlight, and Laura had some purple at various times, too. Laura occasionally breaks out with a few blossoms around April. It was a little eerie when two blossoms flowered just after the Boston Marathon bombings.

You're welcome. :)
I cannot recall Edgar ever having purplish leaves. He gets indirect sunlight for most of the year and then in summer it is direct, but only if I open the mini blind all the way. His pot has to be adjusted every now and then as he likes to stick his leaves through said mini blind.

Freezing fog sounds awful! We're expecting the coldest temps yet this winter in a couple days.
There's an American term for freezing fog, derived from a Native American word: some call it a "pogonip."

Stay warm!
Interesting tidbit ~ thank you for posting!

Thanks girls! I could use a nap. LOL Actually, I slept pretty darn good last night. Now my oldest sister is probably exhausted. She's burning the candle at both ends. Brought Mom to the doc & then the ER yesterday, then drove 1 1/2 hrs south so be with my SIL, she's been to the hospital twice this morning & tonight she's heading 2 hours north to watch her grand kids. Whew!

Wow, Superwoman is right! What a great sister you have, Holiday!

Good Morning/Afternoon christmas buddies..Hope everyone is all well today...Its been another sunny day here today...Thats my working day done woo-hoo...Time for a quick cuppa then start preparing dinner for tonite...Continued thoughts and prayers for the snowflake22 family and for Festive..Hope the meds are kicking in now my friend..Enjoy the rest of your day christmas buddies:)

Sorry I've been MIA folks-I've been busier than I would have hoped the beginning of this year and this week I came down with an awful, awful stomach bug! I hope everyone is doing well! Hope to be back in the swing of things and here more often from now on! :)

Good to see you around DYHWIH...Glad your feeling better now my friend:)

Hi D
It's so nice too see you. Sorry about the stomach bug. Ugh!
I hope you are recovering and feeling back you yourself.

Hoping for a HAR update soon. Nitro update is the x-ray shows lungs have a little soreness but not much showing up on it. Gonna put him on another antibiotic and keep him on oxygen tonight. I rather them do that then rush him home today if they don't feel he's ready.
Indeed, better safe than sorry - even though it's so hard!!! Prayers Nitro is good as new tomorrow! xx

These days are like a blur guys (and girls). Where is time going? I ask myself that all the time but even Jan/Feb this year is flying. It always drags so much.
It's all your friends at MMC keeping you company this year!!! :p:D
