Christmas Countdown - 2016

Good Morning, Pines Day Patrons.

But before we discuss our cyber resort of choice, we must review and contemplate today's numbers and consider their message:
Days to the Season: 228
Days to Christmas Day: 270

And the mathematically inclined among us will at length discern that we now have LESS than four weeks to go to reach our next Milestone Marker, the 1/3 point to Christmas Day.
And that day will be immediately succeeded by the grand opening of the 200-day Season Window which in turn will herald the beginning of a 100's level Season count.
(Wow. So much to look forward to so soon!)



A tad on the cool side yesterday but considering it is still March, it wasn't really too bad. At least we had dry conditions.
This morning has commenced at 46 degrees with plenty of sun and the promise of a nice day.


Well, Folks. Carl is ready and rarin' to showcase his latest entertainment at the Shispering Pines this evening where, as always, the first fired twinkie is complimentary along with that first glass of ice cold, sweet southern tea.
Carl has intimated there could be a mystery guest entertainer at the 'Pines for tonight's open house.
Hmmm......
Wonder who (or what) it could be? Guess I'll have to go to find out. How about you?

Running late today which is odd as I have been up since before two. Oh, well. The day will go by much faster now.

My big home project went very well yesterday so today I start a new one. The basement still has water in it and there is rain in the forecast for the next four days. Going to have keep tabs on the basement as the water hasn't gone down at all.

Good morning Meceka!! I'll be hoping & praying the water recedes from your basement! Such a pain, especially with more rain on the way. Do you know anyone who has a portable sump pump? That's what we had to use in our basement & then again in our crawl space while we were putting on the new addition & the crawl space filled with water. EEK! Good luck M!!

It's another beautiful day! But it's supposed to start raining tomorrow, and last into the weekend. Ah well. It's gotta rain sometimes, too, huh?

Mama has hired some guys to trim the pecan trees, but she wants me to go out there today to check on their progress. She always trims more than I would LOL. Maybe the trees won't be scalped when I get there.

We're supposed to get rain Friday but a nice Saturday before some rain/snow Sunday and possibly Tuesday. April northeast weather!

I just wanted to say thanks again for everyone's friendship and support! I love being a part of such a wonderful Christmas family. You guys keep me coming here every day.

Harlowe has been in a good, steady place the past few weeks. She is on a regular schedule with her different meds, and is taking them like a champ! They seem to be working well for her, and I am so thankful. The only issues she has from time to time is her cough, and being restless at night, but even they have improved. As long as she isn't in pain, discomfort, or distress, I am happy.
Please keep her in your prayers, we really appreciate them!

One bit of good news that I don't think I ever shared is that I got a nice raise and promotion at work.
It was unexpected and greatly appreciated. I was called into the VP's office on a Friday afternoon, and he told me that he was very impressed with everything I've done on this project, that I surpassed & exceeded his expectations, and he was very grateful. And he didn't want me going anywhere!
It's always nice to be complimented and get positive feedback at work.

Adrian & I are also going to be able to close early on our house, a few months early actually!
We are very excited. And we are really going to have to buckle down and get packing
The good thing about this move is that it's only a few miles away this time around.
We will be making our interior picks this weekend, and starting to design our fireplace. It's starting to feel very real.

I'm going to go over to our house on my lunch break to check out the progress =]

I am trying to stay awake to get caught up here, but I am beginning to fail miserably.
Inventory is done for the month, it went pretty well and I was able to train someone else to help me out.

Day off tomorrow, I am hoping to get 100% caught up and share a picture of the White Christmas thing I found.

I just picked up Isak from school. Thay have school trips every Wednesday
They are out in the woods all day and he loves it, and that shows.
He is dirty from top to toe..

Good Wednesday Morning MMC! Happy Pines Day! Most of you never heard of Mike and the Mad Dog but they were a NY sports talk show duo on the radio for almost 20 years and I grew up with them from age 10 to 30. They broke up when Mad Dog left in 2008 to do his own show but tonight they reunite for a special 3 hour show. It's gonna bring back a lot of memories as listening to them was part of my daily routine for 20 years. I've got my recorder and all ready to go. Other than that I'm ordering some pizza for lunch and have leftover lasagna for dinner so not a bad combo today foodwise. It's chilly out there. Can someone explain to me how it's already almost the end of March by the way? I haven't figured out how that's possible.

Good morning MMC! Happy Hump/Pines Day!!! It's supposed to be a beautiful day here - 66º, party cloudy! Bring it on!!

Thank you for all the prayers for Sheri & Gracie. The FB update says Sheri came through surgery great - everything went fine. So praying she has a speedy recovery & things go well for her! xx
Gracie's appointment went very well. She was a trooper through the BP check. Dr. Leslie said that was the fastest BP check they have ever done! LOL! Her BP was much better this time around too, very consistent & everything looked good, temp was normal, heart rate normal, she lost a pound too - down to 46.2! Now we wait for the results from the lab! Hopefully those look good too! xx She got her yearly vaccinations, we got her heart worm & flea/tick meds for the year....and then came time to pay the bill. OUCH! She's lucky she's cute! And today she goes to the beauty parlor. She is a busy dog!

My Grandpa sends me a big box of pecans every year, north of Mason/Dixon line pecans are like buying gold...and not a boiled peanut anywhere...lol
