Why aren't you my parent, Jeff? My girlfriend and I have very little interest in a wedding. We can barely afford enough for about 75 people. We want to elope. My mom seems to be the only person who actually wants us to have a wedding... We'll probably settle on eloping, but I'm sure she'll be upset.
You & Kim should do whatever makes you guys happy!

Our friends recently eloped, and then threw a backyard party to celebrate with their friends and family.

Good morning, everyone!

I'm at Russell this morning. It's been a great day thus far. I had a gym class and now I only have one more Geography class (after this one). Awesome.

It is a wet and below seasonal day. Temperatures are barely going to reach double digits (10c/50f). Tomorrow, they are calling for sunshine and 15c/59f. It will be around seasonal, yet I am sure it will feel much warmer as we have not had many warm days this year.

My dad was up since Wednesday. He headed back home this morning. It was his first time around since October. It's always nice to have him around. We just hung out a lot at home and did a few other things. It was enjoyable.

As for this week, it should be a little bit quieter. I am currently booked to teach all week at Russell, which is great. I also have a few sports things happening. Quiet, yet still busy!

Well, it's great to see that the count to the Season is moving along ever so fast! I went into a few stores that I usually only go to during the Christmas Season over the weekend. Let's just say I had images of Christmas decor and sounds of Christmas music playing throughout my time in there... Until then, I will enjoy the summer.

Have a great Monday, everyone. It's a new workweek, but let's hope it moves us closer to the weekend as quickly as possible.

The country music star, Brad Paisley, has a song whose lyrics include the phrase "I'd like to check you for ticks."

I don't know how I knew that.

Too funny! EEK

Good luck Brent! :)

Enjoy your day at Russell!

Glad that you had such a nice time with your Dad~

Have a wonderful week, Brent!

Hey Brent! I'm glad you had a chance to spend time with your dad. It's important.

I love going to Christmas shops in the summer, especially if the A/C is really pumping. I can close my eyes and almost feel Christmas! :D

That's about what I said! His parents have a couple of successful businesses and I think that's the majority of it. They are helping with the expenses, so I can't really complain.

The real pain of this is that this is the first of my daughters getting married. I have six daughters. This daughter is not my eldest, who is now 30 and feeling a little...awkward... about it all. But since it is the first wedding every detail is really important...the dress...who gets to go look for the dress...who is there the first time it is put on...who is doing her hair...what are the colors....and all the way overblown details that are important but at the end of the day really aren't important.

This is our pain right now and my job, because I'm Daddy and thus a moron, is to merely pick up whoever's feelings are hurt, scrape them off the floor, and tell them to get over it. Seriously, I've not had this drama with my girls since they argued who the puppy was for on Christmas morning 15 years ago.

I find I can only make things worse by opening my mouth too much -- so YOU guys get to be my sounding board.

The dress thing got done this weekend, fortunately. I haven't started drinking yet. Now to get the invites out....

Sound away, Jeff!! That's what we're here for!! Great pic and congrats on the engagement and prayers that you make it through it all with your sanity in tact!!

Sean

I only have the one daughter, but in my limited experience I've found it's best to go ahead and say something stupid, like "What's wrong with wearing those shoes you bought last year?", or "Your hair is fine." And voilà! No one expects anything from you!

The first of six weddings in your future, eh? I recommend starting slow with something like Boone's Farm Strawberry Hill.

My sister drives me crazy with how she has to buy new outfits, shoes etc. all the time. Here I am basically wear my clothes till they rip is my motto lol.

Oh that's one thing I love doing in summer is just basking in that warm (and sometimes hot) summer weather but closing my eyes and imagining the BERS, and the best times of year ahead.

Dept of Technical Issues: When I started a couple of birthday greetings (conversations), today, the MMC window closed as soon as it posted.
It happens when you start a new private message? That is strange. Sorry, I don't think I've ever seen that before.

Both Edge and Brent have stepped forward as Countdown volunteers for Thursday and Friday mornings.
They can arrange it between themselves any way they want.

Thanks, Guys.

(Looks like we're covered again. Both have done it in the past and done a fantastic job. What great folks we have!)

Go ahead an elope. I'll work on the adoption papers and send a sympathy card to your mom.
