Absolutely do it!
Some adults believe you don't do certain things once you become an adult. They're missing out on a LOT of joy. That's one thing that separates Christmas lovers from the rest: understanding that being a "grownup" doesn't mean abandoning joy and wonder, but embracing them wherever they can be found.

Happy Thursday everyone!
I've been on the run all or morning. Maggie had a groomer appointment and I ran a few errands as well. I'm having a bite to eat now and I'm going to start working on the laundry. I'm heading back out this afternoon to go dress shopping, my nephew is getting married next month. It will be here before we know it and the girls and I have not found dresses yet.

Good morning MMC!! Happy, Happy Friday! TGIF!!!! For a short week, it sure has been a long week! Even though I'm only working 2 1/2 days this week, the places I had to go, I would have rather been at work! (I don't say that often...LOL) Anyway, looking forward to the weekend!

OK, I was just wondering what everybody else's schedules look like for seasonal BER months decorating. I'm sure everyone's is different and you can't decorate incorrectly.

This is ours. (Sept. 1 and Oct. 1 are approximates)
Sept. 1 - Fall decorations
Oct. 1 - Halloween decorations
Nov. 1 - Thanksgiving decorations
Thankgiving Day - Christmas decorations

Fall decorations: middle of August
Halloween/Thanksgiving decorations: trickle in (when I remember) starting in late September.
Christmas decorations: November 1

Sounds like nice weekend plans, have fun at the festival. Blueberry season is mid-july here in Québec, can't wait to get some and make desserts.

What a glorious Summer-like day it will be here today. I've already taken Loki to the park for a long walk and have one load of laundry hanging outside, with a second one in the washer. I have to run some errands and will try and get an appointment at the hair salon to get my frizzy, crazy hair under control. Enjoy your Friday everyone!

It is just me, or does everyone else have dreams of going into stores and being so excited to see Christmas decorations everywhere? I would like to think I have had about four dreams of such this year.

I was super excited in my dream last night. The setting was probably September. I walked into a store and found Christmas everywhere. I was so excited... Then, my cat began to nudge me with his head because he wanted me to pet him at 5 AM. Although I do enjoy petting Simon, I do not appreciate being awoken at that house. Plus, I don't like the fact that he ruined my wonderful dream.

With that said, I think it is time to visit Tinseltown, Ottawa's year-round Christmas store, shortly!

Having your pet wake you up to be petted is one of the best things in the world! I didn't realize how wonderful of a gift it was until Mouse was no longer around.
Enjoy every second you have with Simon, Brent!

Messing with my music libraries and playlists is such a (lovely) "time suck" for me! I go into iTunes to tweak a playlist or to tweak tags or add a song, and it always pulls me in. I always have to remind myself before I start that I will be spending more time at it than I expect.

I'm glad you enjoy it so!

I am that way with reading. I always say just one chapter on a week night, but get sucked in!

Maybe you can talk her into keeping them up longer? I will say that no matter when you decorate...I think everyone on this site can say the most magical thing is when you put everything up and light it the first night. It's special.

This is so true...there is nothing like sitting in a room with just the Christmas lights on!

What a busy day I had yesterday, and today looks like it'll be another one, so I thought I'd jump in early.

Last night, Nancy and I looked over our summer calendar for vacation possibilities, and it's not looking good. There seems to be plans upon plans throughout the next few months, then school (high school for Elizabeth, and COLLEGE?!? for Jacob) starts, with all the expected and unexpected financial burdens in tow. I might not be able to visit my beloved Smoky Mountains this summer.

BUT...maybe I can find the time to open the pool this weekend!

After all this talk of rain I checked our forecast. 100% chance of Thunderstorms tomorrow! Yuck! It's been beautiful all week, we have a chance to get outside on Saturday & it's going to rain all day! Great! 50% chance of storms on Sunday PM. Ah well. Jim is supposed to golf in a benefit golf outing tomorrow. Hmmmm...
