As Nitro taught us yes they are.

We've always had family dogs, each one unique & special. They were part of our family in every way.

Harlowe is our first furkid together, and we have such a strong & bond with her. Like nothing we've ever experienced, it's different when you raise them. Animals have such beautiful & kind souls.

Another fun day, we went and saw "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows" today. It was a fun movie, we will probably pick it up when it comes out on Blu ray. We went to a car show tonight, but found out it was canceled due to the thunderstorms that never materialized. We will try it again next Thursday night.
My sister is driving up from North Carolina tomorrow, so we will get to spend time with her and my niece and nephew for a week and a half. It has been almost two years since we have seen my sister, and a few years longer for her kids.

Winding down watching the '80's classic "The Great Outdoors" now, whenever I watch a John Candy movie, I realize how much I miss him.

It rained here !! We so badly needed it, going to get more this afternoon, hopefully.
I am off today but stuck working all weekend. They hire teenagers for weekends then let them have so much time off us regular day shift folks end up working instead. I think it is time we all stood up and said no !

My new counter top for my cake room arrives today , so excited. once that is in I will have a really great work area.. After that need the sink installed and I will be ready for health inspector. If I get the green light from them I will be open for business again.

A cake room, just the name sounds heavenly. One of our employees has been taking cake decorating classes and she has gotten so good at it. Enjoy your day off before the weekend.

TGIF, my Christmas friends!

We've been having a great time here in the mountains! The temperatures have been wonderful. We went to the top of a local mountain around 2pm, and it was in the 60's. Nice! We spent the day on Fontana Lake on a pontoon boat Wednesday, which was a super time!

Coming home tomorrow. I hope y'all have a great day!

Happy Friday...we made it and I am on vacation next week! We don't have too much planned, we will probably go to the beach and my MIL's pool. Just working today and praying for those poor police officers in Dallas and their families. Hope you all have a great day!

Hope your last day before your vacation flies by SnowflakeMom. It's nice to not have everything planned out during a vacation, just taking it as it goes. I know sometimes I want to cram as many acitivities as I can during my vacation and I end being more stressed and tired than anything.

I think there are days I talk to Gracie more than I do my hubby!

I'm just having my coffee, watching the news. Praying for Dallas. Praying for peace. It's so upsetting. Not too much going on here today. My daughter has to renew her drivers license, I'm going to take a ride to the DMV with her and keep her company. We're going out for lunch afterward. We may take a ride to the outlets to do some shopping as well. My husband will be home with Maggie so I can stay out a little bit longer if I want to. That's about it for me. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day.

I totally agree with this statement. Loki is my first furbaby (we had a cat when I was a baby but after that nothing) and he's brought me so much joy, I can't even describe the feeling.

So I'm waiting for a plumber to come and fix our toilet. It keeps "running" and the tank won't fill back up. Hubby can fix a lot of things but this is a really old model that he's never seen before so we've called a Professional.

While waiting, I've baked two desserts for a strawberry-themed bake sale at work:
- a strawberry oatmeal bar, which for some reason didn't hold its shape, so I'm calling it a crumble
- and chocolate cupcakes with chocolate-covered strawberries on top (picture below)


I have the weekend off, we'll be shopping for a new couch and watching movies while it rains both days. I'm working the afternoon/evening shift today, that is if the plumber comes soon enough. Have a great Friday everyone!
