Good morning all my Christmas loving friends !

off to work soon for the day. Just put up some sourdough Whole grain sweetened with molasses, to rise for the day, should be ready to bake when I get home.
was reading the steeped tea catalogue and found pumpkin spice latte tea, chocolate pumpkin chai, pumpkin pie roobos tea and candy cane hot chocolate. yum ! going to be doing some ordering for sure !
8 days till vacation starts !!!

Closing in on another weekend.......and another Milestone!

Days to the Season: 101
Days to Christmas Day: 143
And when I say closing in, I really mean closing in --- as in TOMORROW!

Yes my Friends, Friday sees us arrive in style at the 100 DAY SEASON WINDOW, setting the stage for a double-digit Season count sequence to commence the following day.
WOW!
Just, WOW!!


Well, a bit of relief from the heat and humidity is here. Don't know how long it will last but I will accept any handouts Mother Nature decides to bestow.
We are at 74 degrees here currently, and should stay below 90 again today.

I have had the same sourdough starter for close to 4 years now. It even survived the move from NC. I always have a hard time with the timing, one time I set my alarm at the final rise was done at 2 am. It was suppose to be around 6 am.

Rollins had fun when we visited him this evening. Was running around for a half hour playing with his toys. He sure loves attention. He has a lot of energy. His cough is better but he has a little congestion. They are taking an X-Ray in the next day or 2 so I will go see him on Saturday. They are treating him though for it and they expect him to be fine. He's eating and everything so he's not acting sick. As long as he gets better I can be patient and wait...

Aww....sounds like he is doing great! I hope he heals quickly and he can come home with you soon!

Good morning everyone! Wishing each of you a great day ahead.

We arrived back home yesterday around suppertime, after a 4h30 drive and picking-up Loki at our in-laws. He was so excited to see us. It is so much more humid here than it was in he woods. As much as I enjoyed our time there and the hospitality of our hosts, I'm happy to be home. And as I told David, I'm never going outside in the evenings until I find a way to repell mosquitoes that actually works. It just ruined the experience of sitting around a fire for me. Today we'll relax with Loki and try to stay cool in the scorching heat. Then we'll plan some daily outings to enjoy during the rest of our vacation.

Good Thursday Morning MMC! Happy Friday Eve! The visit with Rollins was fun and he definitely remembered us. Going to visit him on Saturday and they should have a better idea on how much longer till he feels better enough to go home. I'm glad they haven't rushed him home. Some places would. It's absolutely beautiful out...another September type feel. FYI, I was reading some predictions from accuweather concerning the upcoming Autumn. Sounds like the 1st half will be mild for many in the USA and the 2nd half may be chilly just in time for Thanksgiving through Christmas. I'm hoping that's what happens.

Finishing up some stuff for the store and then I can tackle a few chores and relax a bit. Talked to my cousin today and she told me that she and her husband got me a ticket to see Bryan Adams for my birthday present. I must say that is a great gift! It is on a Pines night, so I am sure it will be an awesome show!

Good Thursday morning, Christmas friends!

We finally got some good rain in Bellville last night. My rain gauge is broken, but I know it was at least 2". The only family member that didn't like it was Lulu. The thunder just scares her to death. She burrowed down in her mama's lap for the duration of the storm. Poor girl.

But it's nice not to have to fight the dying grass for a few days, anyway.

It was a long day here with an unexpected twist. We ended up becoming parents of three new furbabies today! We adopted three, eight week old kittens. We saw a sign saying free kittens and went in for a look. I thought if we were to get any it would have been one, but my wife didn't want to separate the siblings.

This is them, Stella on the left, Tuukka in the back, Luna on the right.
The have the most easygoing temperament for kittens we have ever seen, just a joy to watch. The other furkids are not as happy, and some are quite angry with us. My boy Alex won't even look at me, he just stares at the wall when I talk to him. He is usually the one who runs out to see me as soon as I get home, but angry right now.

I am heading to bed now, I will get caught up tomorrow.

From my window at the office I can see a wooded hill in the distance. A few orange-ish leaves are already showing! I don't know if that's a sign of the drought we're having here, or an early sign of autumn. Anyway, seeing that gives me mixed feelings, because I'm not ready to let go of green trees and sunlight yet.

My grass greened up for a bit,now its croaking again. I heard my neighbor outside last night swearing at the lack of rain. His yard is a Home and Garden pic most of the year. Poor guy...you really cant even find a weed in his grass.
