Christmas Countdown - 2016

[Holiday]

Well, it's not really a carol but the song Same Old Lang Syne makes me sad. It's not the lyrics, either. I've never liked that song and my dad hated it! We used to make jokes about it any time it was heard and talked about how cheesy it is (in our opinions). Long story short, now that he's gone I can't hear it without thinking of him and it makes me a bit sad. But, it reminds me of him so I now listen to it, even though I don't like it. Kind of strange!

Awe - that totally makes sense! (((Hugs)))

 

[Holiday]

Well, at lunch I turned Christmas music on the tv/surround sound, (I tried Autumn Jazz - just not my thing I guess) I cleared off the mantle, all my coffee/end tables, the tables & fireplace in the sunroom, dusted everything - it's ready for fall decs! Hoping to work on that tonight! Getting excited!!!!

That's wonderful!! I hope everything falls into place & you have a perfect wedding day! Are you taking any kind of honeymoon at a later date? Just curious - my nephew got married in August & they aren't honeymooning until January. Seems like more people are doing that.

We were going to go to the Great American Road Trip for a honeymoon, but when that got cancelled, we thought of just doing a mini trip out east to Cleveland and Frankenmuth. But with having to fund a wedding and no real reason to go, we are going to delay a honeymoon until later.

Good morning .. I am a member of a few Facebook yard sale sites in my area and over the weekend a local person posted a whole tote full of Christmas decor for sale. Well of course I just had to buy these as I had a couple similar as a a child. I can not wait for Christmas now

Love those old "popcorn" decorations. They were everywhere when I was growing up, now you don't see them.

I can see why it was so stressful getting such a huge trip organized for that many people. When will you be going to Disney World? That promises to be magical. No more stress

Great find, Minta! It's fun to dig through yard sales for Christmas stuff.

I love doing that, no one else enjoys it like I do here. LC likes to, but he is still too young to fully enjoy it and is likely to lose interest when he finds a toy. I really want to take him to the Brimfield Flea Market sometime, he loves that stuff, and I want to look for Christmas stuff. www.brimfieldantiquefleamarket.com It is right in the next town from me, less than 10 minutes away.

Rack up the miles made582. I drive so little any more. Just no place I want to go I suppose and since I work at Wal-Mart, I do my shopping before I leave or stop at the local Hy-Vee on the way home. I think I had less than 3500 miles for all of 2015.

I've done about 1400 since Friday morning. Usually I drive about 10 a week. So a big change for sure. I use to drive a lot with my job though so I'm loving it.
