Good Thursday morning everyone. Yesterday we celebrated the store's 10th anniversary. Employees loved the souvenir album, it brought back lots of memories for them. The buffet was great, the cakes delicious, happy to have done it right. Now a long work day ahead for me, to make up for the work I didn't have time to finish yesterday because of the celebrations. Have a great day everyone!

Happy Fall Equinox MMC!!

Thank you, HmG~
It still hasn't let up, crazy weather. So much rain & flooding.
Har did better than expected, though. Tough little cookie ❤️
Hope you guys had a better night~
(((Hugs)))

I'm so glad to hear Harlowe is showing signs of improvement & that she had a better night. I will continue to keep the both of you in my thoughts and prayers <3
Be safe in the storms!

How did the hockey player name pronunciation kiss game go?

Good...only a couple of people got the really tough names. Some of the people coming up were the young nieces so we took it easy on them. Everyone had a great time.

Good morning ~
Merry Thursday!
Happy First Day of Autumn! It's officially here. How exciting, I have that warm and cozy feeling. So much much to look forward to. Wishing everyone a bright and beautiful season filled with much happiness!

Thank you, Sam~

Severe Storm warnings here, potential flash flooding, hail, and Har is taking it like a champ. A little more progress tonight, hope she sleeps okay.
Thank you for thinking of us!

Goodnight, merry dreams to you.

Stay safe snow.

Autumn, fall … or harvest?

Did you know that fall was once referred to simply as “harvest” to reflect the time when farmers gathered their crops for winter storage? In the early 1600s as more people started moving into cities, the word harvest fell out of use and city dwellers used the phrase “fall of the leaf” to refer to the third season of the year. The word fall comes from the Old English word “feallan” which means “to fall or to die.” Over time, the phrase was shortened to fall. No one really knows where the word autumn comes from. It was used as far back as the 1300s (by Chaucer), and Shakespeare often used the word. Today, North Americans tend to use the word fall, while the British use autumn almost exclusively.

We still use harvest as well.

Happy Fall!

Kim and I fell asleep early last night... She was watching Chicago PD and I was watching the Canada/Team Europe hockey game. I only say this because we initially fell asleep on the couch and woke up around 11:30 to go to bed.

Then, I had a scary dream! I dreamt that the Blossoms thread had been open for a couple days and I didn't even know! How scary is that? It's practically a nightmare!

I just checked here, and it is all good. Crown has yet to debut the Most Wonderful Thread of the Year! ... Although I have a sneaking suspicion that his next trip to Crabtree will be to prepare for the thread's unveiling.

That would be scary!!!

Hope that you, Kim, and Simon have a wonderful day~

Good morning, everyone!

Happy first day of Fall! It's the final season before our favourite day of the year! And, of course, the Season that includes our season, the Christmas Season! Seeing all your Fall photos that welcome in the new season made it much easier to wake up today.

I am up a little early considering there is no work. No teaching positions today at all, really. Tomorrow, I have to tutor. I might have a tutoring shift on Saturday or Sunday as well. Next week, I have four days already booked. Not bad! It is all starting to pickup.

Well, I should get started on a few things. I hope everyone has a wonderful first day and you're all embraced by some cool air and falling leaves, although it seems that both are a little later this year than usual - at least they are in Canada's Capital.

Have a great Thursday, everyone!
