Doesnt watering or lack of have something to do with it blooming? I had one for years that bloomed all the time, except at Christmas..lolLOL! Could be!! I'm trying to remember when it bloomed last. It was this summer. I'm thinking July. June, or July. Hopefully it will bloom again for Christmas but I'm not going to hold my breathe. I will post a pic when it does bloom.

I have read that giving a cactus a little less water in the fall helps to make it bloom, but I just water mine moderately once a week and let her do her own thing. And she loves it!
Mine is kinda unconventional ... I used to believe that stuff about the cactus needs total darkness for 12 hours a day starting in October to make it bloom. But mine has adjusted to having a low living-room lamp on in the evenings, and blooms two or three times a year just the same! Mine blooms closer to Thanksgiving than Christmas, then I get a few blooms around April.

Hey everyone. Well we got most of the Halloween decorations up last night only to find out that one of the older inflatables looks to be on its way out, the motor keeps puttering out. Tested all the lights before putting them up on the porch railings and somehow in the process one of the bulbs came out and we cant find it. So now I have a part of a strand that does not light up and the bulbs housing are more square then round and I don't have extra of those type housings. Going to try to find the bulb later today and if I cant I will replace the strand. The weather does not want to co-operate the rest of this week so it may not be until next week that we get to finish the outside decorating. Oh well guess that give me more time to decorate the inside of the house this week
