Harlowe's appointment went well, very informative.

We have an accurate diagnosis! She is not in Congestive Heart Failure yet!
Harlowe has Chronic Degenerative Valve Disease, Cavalier King Charles are prone to this.
Knowledge is power...
We will try to wean her off /slowly remove one of her medications, and check her respiratory rate on a regular basis. I intend to keep her on the heart medicine, as there are no adverse effects to any organs if she stays on indefinitely. And we will do another echocardiogram (ultrasound) on her in about 9 months to see where she's at. Once she progresses to the next stage, we will start her back on her initial heart medicine that worked great but was impossible to administer. The cardiologist can have it compounded & made to be odorless and flavor free. Studies have been done in the last year that change everything! They prove you can effectively treat heart failure before it sets in-before they said it was impossible to prevent progression-this could potentially hold the progression off for 12-15 months! This is huge for an animal, and their family. I am so relieved for more time with my sweetie. I was originally told once diagnosed, life span was 6-12 months. And we are at 9 right now.
God is good! And medicine / science can be pretty amazing, too.

Days to Halloween: 11 (SINGLE DIGITS from the day after tomorrow!)
Days to the Season: 24 (Now UNDER 3 1/2 weeks!)
Days to Christmas Day: 66 (Just two two months plus five days!)
Can't you just feel the excitement building?

Another warm (nearly hot) one here yesterday, but downright chilly weather is just around the corner. By Saturday night, we could possibly be seeing readings in the upper 30's!
(Straight from Summer-like to Winter-like conditions. We usually have a rather short Fall here.)
Currently, we perceive 65 degrees on our back door thermometer.

Good morning my Christmas friends! Merry Friday Eve!!!! What a rainy/stormy night. It poured & poured - never let up! It stormed & stormed around 2am. Gracie slept in the basement under her table. LOL! We have a bit of a break right now (only sprinkling) but more rain is predicted this afternoon...and a high of 58º! Hello Fall!

That was a typo (by me) the groomers new puppy's name is Emmy, not Emmu. OOPS! And she's just adorable. Gracie didn't make much of her at 1st, she was just so excited to be there & see her peeps. Kelly actually took Gracie inside so I could hold Emmy outside - little jealousy going on. LOL!

Jim always says farming isn't "work" to him. LOL He LOVES it! I believe his vacation week is going way too fast - as it always does!

Good morning, everyone!

I am back at Russell today. It was a foggy drive that could be making way for some serious rainfall. The rain is suppose to hit within the next hour or so and remain until tomorrow morning, at the earliest. I am only here for half a day, so I hope that the roads won't be that bad on my drive home.

Although we were suppose to take our engagement photos on last Sunday, the weather forced us to do it yesterday evening after work. It went very well. Kim and I really enjoy our photographer, which makes it much easier. We should have a few photos in the next couple days, and then the rest will be with us in two or three weeks.

I don't think much else is happening today. After the gym, which I missed yesterday due to photos, it should be a nice night.

It's nearly Friday, friends. And, best of all, the countdown is getting even lower! Sooooo close! Have a great Thursday!

Good Thursday morning! This week feels really long for some reason. I have off tomorrow but working this weekend (last weekend working until December yes!!!). Happy Friday Eve!! I just got back from my youngest daughter's school conference. She is doing well so that is good. The weather is nice out today...cooler but still nice. My oldest has her Homecoming Dance on Saturday night and I agreed to have six 14 y/o girls sleep over after...so I will just have them sleep in the basement. I said as long as they don't keep me up I am fine with it..lol

Hi everyone.. I cannot wait for the weekend .. first weekend in a long time where we don't have plans. Going to take advantage of it and get some minor projects done around the house. Oh I'm sooooo happy for you snowflake!! What a great appointment. I am at Moms - she just went to bed, so I thought I would log in to check on you guys - I was hoping for good news & that's what I just got!! Praying she has many more happy healthy years - the way they progress with medicine (especially for the heart) - there is great hope! Continued prayers for you all!!!

It's still raining, but Gracie was fine tonight. No storms so she never went to her place in the basement. LOL! Crazy girl! She was happy to have Grandma over for supper, but not so happy when we left her - but her papa was home, so it's all good!
Emmy is precious. And I agree - I think it is normal for them to be jealous. She wasn't obsessed with it but she was looking like "why are you holding a different dog??" LOL
Jim wasn't so happy tonight - he & our brother in law put a new door on my in-laws shed. Jim wanted to wait until another night but our BIL said tonight was the night. So what should have taken them 2 hours took 4 in the dark, pouring down rain. He took a hot shower, ate supper & was under a blanket when I left. MEN!
